I am Rod Hull Posted 17 December 2010 Posted 17 December 2010 I remember a mate of mine getting his sister some Haribo. Thats class for ya...
MikeyT Posted 17 December 2010 Posted 17 December 2010 Iwantoneofthose.com is good. I got a few things from there for people.
cambridgefox Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Its the wifes big 40, christmas day too, made sure i was organised, all bought and wrapped last week. Probably a bit late now,but i always get the wife to write things down months before, this way they are never pissed off on christmas day.i know this from past experience!
sphericalfox Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 look no further than this beaut I wasn't sure which was my favourite, but The Entertainer comes a close second, with the timing of The Terminator and it's haunting resonance winning me over for first place.
purpleronnie Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 My niece wants I-Tunes vouchers. depressing.
Rincewind Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 I don't even want to think about Christmas. My siblings have said to me not to buy any presents Not that I have much cash to do it though. What makes it worse is that others will still get me stuff and I'll have a guilt complex. I've made enquiries about work somewhere. Only part time but it may do. Still spent on my sister's 50th and the Sat night meal though. I'm sure things will change in the New Year. The fortune cookie that I had read, Prosperity is around the corner if you know where to look.' , and you can't ague with a fortune cookie.
Tincy Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Normall leave my christmas shopping till last minute, but would like to get it done fairly early this year, but have no idea of what to get members of my family, so this will probably mean it will be a last minute job again. lol
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 Only have to buy for three people. Mum usually asks for M&S/beauty salon vouchers Daughter happy with cash to put towards something Best mate and I usually buy £20 lottery tickets for each other with the rule that we split any winnings. Piece of fvcking pizss
Rincewind Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 Trouble is with four brothers and sisisters all with partners and families the list gets longer. I even have step-nephews and nieces. Admitedly most are grown up but if I do not see them for years it is a bit silly buying for all. Even my close family are not bothered about presents. What do you buy people that have everything they need? You end up buying just for the sake of buying something. I'm not bothered for myself. A few quid extra to get me over the Xmas period and to get some drink and maybe pork pie in. I was not expecting to be out of work so long but in the new year I may put a little by each week or buy stuff over the the year. My family will understand and they are not the sort to compare the generosity of others when opening (or not0 presents.

Girlfriend, handbag, puurse, earrings, bracelet, perfume, converse, DVD's, Why on earth would you go to London for any of this stuff? It is more expensive, over crowded and shops will be a nightmare the closer you get to Christmas. Get the shit you know you want online, go to London and see the cool shit you can only see in London and not trawl round shops with your bird.

Girlfriend, handbag, puurse, earrings, bracelet, perfume, converse, DVD's, " Go to London! I guarantee you'll either be mugged or not appreciated...Catch the train to London, stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway" Having said that... I love London, just not shopping in it.
jonthefox Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 I hate it when you order things online to save a few quid and end up making endless phone calls to see where the bloody thing is (yes , you currys). Apart from that iv'e been fairly lucky this year as everyone has told me what they want. I just need to get paid again and go and fetch them.
indierich06 Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 I've bought most of my girlfriend's presents online, she's got loads of little things that I know she'll like - perfume, handbag, stuff like that - and she's been after a pandora bracelet and a few charms for a while, so I've got that sorted too. Gonna sort out the rest of the family when I get paid at the end of the month, thankfully my family's not too big so it's not usually a massively expensive time of the year - I probably spend more travelling to see them all to be honest! Me and my brother usually get Having said that, my GF has got a massive family - including 8 nieces and nephews - so I've got a funny feeling I'll be coerced into getting stuff for them with her too.
AyewJoking Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 http://www.advancedhairstudio.com/ A.Johnson I'm quite happy with the one ive got.
purpleronnie Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 My family and I have decided that we're just going to spend money on the kids, so no presents for me, which is fine as I take much more joy watching my nieces and nephew open their presents.

My sister lives in London so we are staying with her for free, it was £25 each for a return ticket. So we thought might aswell go up and do a bit of shopping. Also I want a load of stuff from Abercrombie & Fitch and as they charge about £20 delivery and if you've ever bought anything from them you'll know that the sizing is awful and it's a right pain with sending it back etc. Never actually been London before other than going to football matches so really looking forward to it.
purpleronnie Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 London is brilliant for shopping, loads of stuff I've not seen anywhere else, you expect crowds everywhere this time of year, I have never found London to be too crowded anyway.

Fair enough, but there is a lot more to do in London than trawl round shops with your missus, obviously for buying AC&F stuff it's different, but in your original post you mentioned a bunch of things you were going to buy in London, it would be better to get stuff like an Ipod online, and stuff you know what you want. London is brilliant for shopping, loads of stuff I've not seen anywhere else, you expect crowds everywhere this time of year, I have never found London to be too crowded anyway. If you are looking for something you've not seen before, and looking for an unusual gift or a bit of inspiration, but if you are looking for an ipod or a specific perfume, it is better to get it online and then spend more time in London doing stuff you can't do anywhere else.
AyewJoking Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 Poundland is a haven for cheap and chearful christmas prezzies. What?
Carl the Llama Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 Poundland is a haven for cheap and chearful christmas prezzies. What? Is that like a mix between cheerful and fearful - like a chucky doll?
