DJ Campbell to Blackpool

Recommended Posts

We'll end up missing out on the play-offs because of DJ's goals for Blackpool.

There's a big possibility of that.

One point behind us, one place behind us. Bollocks to all those idiots saying Blackpool wouldn't be playoff rivals.

Scoring alot more than Kermo at the minute isn't he? :D

Recall.

However, my only worry is he doesn't do it for Leicester does he? On the counter argument, when has he ever been given a decent run of games for us?

Recall, give him a run of games, can't really be worse than what we have available at the current time.

He's not coming back. He doesn't want to and Nige doesn't want him. Now shut the f@ck up.

Source?

Fair enough Nige sent him out on loan, which perhaps suggests he doesn't want him, but on the other hand that was when Fryatt was fit, and because Fryatt was fit DJ didn't have a look in, now Fryatt's injured maybe things have changed?

He doesn't and there's too much gone on between either party for to ever happen I think. I have held the opinion that he's not greatly liked in the squad anyway.

Annoys the tits out of me every time he scores, the tired old beaten debate crawls back up.

We have about 5 forwards who are far better than him, so this thread is as pointless as DJ Campbell's whole existence.

It's a simple isn't it, but obviously some people are a little simple upstairs and can't seem to grasp it. The bloke has no future at the club, he could score 2 goals a game for Blackpool and he'll still never have a future at Leicester. People need to get over it.

I've only just changed my mind to think perhaps bringing DJ back is an idea.

He is scoring, FACT.

Which one of these 5 forwards are scoring for us?

Even Fryatt before getting assulted was off the boil for a few game prior.

Bollocks lol

At the end of the day goals are goals. He's still our player and it hearts me to see him do the business for every club he's sent out on loan to and comes back with a better scoring record than our own strikers apart from Fryatt.

How many did Gallagher get last week again? I lost count...

Waghorn

Gallagher

N'Guessan

Fryatt

They would all get ahead of him in the team. Every single day. How does he have better scoring record? Waghorn got 6. N'Guessan got 6 and Gallagher got 5.

This, i don't think we need him back at all and he probably wouldn't even get on our bench anyway. The only problem is that he might score some important goals for Blackpook that could affect our playoff hopes.

Fair enough you miss the odd chance, you can't complain, but for those 3 he's scored, he's missed 2 simple goals which were both potential winners - 1, 1 on 1 v Doncaster where he tried to be clever and chip the keeper and apparently (And I admit I didn't see this personally) but apparently he missed an 'open goal' on Tuesday.

He's hit and miss, I like him and he's much better upfront than on the winger, but hugely inconsistent.

As I always say when I criticise a Leicester player though - Please prove me wrong, Please prove me wrong big time, Embarrass me for saying what i've said Gallagher/City strikers, i'll more than happy if it's the case.

Fryatt is the only one with a better record as I've said already. N'Guessan is void as he is a winger even though his record still doesn't better dj's.

Waghorn - 6 in 27

Gallagher - 5 in 24

Campbell - 5 in 12 (few of those were short cameos off the bench)

Good post. I like Gallagher too, and think he is a good all-round player but he simply isnt always clinical enough.

Like you say he has missed chances which could have been potential winners for us (though after seeing the highlights the bristol one wasnt an open goal but still should have buried it) and his hat trick came against the team with the worst away defence in the league then every one went over the top saying how good he is.

I hope he starts scoring more too, but I think he is one of a few players which havent scored enough with the chances they have been given.

It's actually quite worrying that this could well turn out to be true.

and? campbell may have a better GPG ratio than the rest but every chance he's been given here has ended in crushing disappointment, he's cost us far more than he's given us (e.g. Crewe at home last year - pissed about near the corner, they robbed him and scored. Cov away this season - missed a golden chance to give us the 3 points) not to mention the fact he can't use his pace, he can't finish and you've got to say that those goals that he does get are more down to diabolical defending than his own ability and tbf our strikers would take those oppotunities as well.

DJ isn't coming back. Away from Leicester he seems to be a far better striker than Waghorn, Gallagher, N'Guessan, Kermorghan.

But at Leicester he's never been given much chance and he's never delivered from what little chance he's had. There's behind the scenes background to this. I don't know the details.

But DJ's return is not going to happen. So the fact remains, we continue to be short of instinctive goalscorers and it's quite remarkable that we've still managed to stay in the promotion hunt as a consequence.

But we have and, if I had the choice of which play-off place I finished in it would be fifth or sixth. So, ironically we're as high as I'd realistically want us to be and on that basis DJ can stay away anyhow. If we suddenly had a goals spurt and hauled ourselves up to third I don't think I'd fancy our chances of going up at all.

Slowly, slowly catchy monkey. No harm in being the underdog.
