Maybes Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Get him back, and stick him in the under 18's... Love this.
Jimmy Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 we CAN'T recall him, apart from youth loans a recall clause has to be specifically added to the loan, do you really think Olly would of took him on loan for the season knowing we could recall him at any point, maybe even just because they are the team we're fighting to 6th? sometimes players just don't perform at a club, for whatever reason, that is the situation we have with Campbell its just never worked for him and it never will, let him score constantly then hopefully someone with a bit of money like a Boro, Reading or QPR will take him permanently next summer
Daggers Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 I think a single DJ Campbell looks wank - even if Ipswich and some other team did it after us. It only works if you have loads of people waving DJ Campbells about, like at Olympic Marseilles or one of the hooligan Turkish sides.
Dames Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 I don't really give a crap if his record is 'good'. The simple fact remains every time he's played for city he's been ineffective 90% of the time. He'll just never do the business here.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 DJ isn't coming back. Away from Leicester he seems to be a far better striker than Waghorn, Gallagher, N'Guessan, Kermorghan. But at Leicester he's never been given much chance and he's never delivered from what little chance he's had. There's behind the scenes background to this. I don't know the details. But DJ's return is not going to happen. So the fact remains, we continue to be short of instinctive goalscorers and it's quite remarkable that we've still managed to stay in the promotion hunt as a consequence. But we have and, if I had the choice of which play-off place I finished in it would be fifth or sixth. So, ironically we're as high as I'd realistically want us to be and on that basis DJ can stay away anyhow. If we suddenly had a goals spurt and hauled ourselves up to third I don't think I'd fancy our chances of going up at all. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey. No harm in being the underdog. Good post, and I fully endorse it.
MrandMrsF Posted 21 February 2010 Posted 21 February 2010 Only Leicester could be stupid enough to loan out a striker that ends up costing their play-off place. Get him back and stick him on the bench even if he wears his tracksuit all game! (we are two subs better of than we used to be). If we lose out on the play-offs to Blackpool it will be the biggest bad management decision since Newcastle loaned Lua Lua to Portsmouth who then scored against them! We all know what happened to Newcastle.

So, the reason he (Whilst playing for us) does not seem to: 1. Look Interested 2. Score Goals 3. Stay On side 4. Have any positional sense 5. Make runs into the right area's 6. Use his so-called pace to any effect is entirely down to the way the club has treated him, and not to him being useless????? B O L L O C K S

SMX11 Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 he's up to his old tricks again. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/blackpoo...pool.6107202.jp
hackneyfox Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 "We've tried to get it done in the past but for whatever reason it has not happened. Hopefully this time it will." What a fooking willy puller!! I have no problem with him over not wanting to take a paycut but have the balls to admit it, don't allude to it being for another reason.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Asked if he'd consider making his move permanent, Campbell replied: "I would definitely stay here permanently, 100 per cent. So long as Blackpool keep paying my obscene wages of course. I wouldn't move just because i'm playing regular first team football.""I know it's only a loan until the end of the season ... but fingers crossed. You never know what might happen in the summer. Blackpool's rich Latvian owner might plunder some of his money on my obscene wages, and then i'll be able to stop bleeding my parent club dry.
The Padster Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 "We've tried to get it done in the past but for whatever reason it has not happened"We were told the reason you wouldn't make a permanent move was that you wanted too much money DJ. If that's not the reason put us straight. This guy seems to have his head screwed on. Well said DJ I am sure with a bit of give and take a deal will be struck at the end of the season. Its better to be happy and playing with a bit less money than languishing in the reserves at a club that does not want you. Good luck for the rest of the season.UTP I think this guy is in love with him however. It's not that we don't want him it's just that he is crap for us and a money grubbing shite.

We all know what happened to Newcastle. Oh dear oh dear. That is the stupidest thing i've heard in, well, at least the last few days. He quite clearly doesn't want to be here and isn't playing well for us when he is here. So why go and use a place on the bench for someone of that calibre (for lack of a better word) when we have players waiting, nay, eager to make an impression and get first team football/ minutes on the pitch.
Edmund Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 he's up to his old tricks again. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/blackpoo...pool.6107202.jp Hardly a trick is it. The guy just wants to play football. "I just love playing football"
hackneyfox Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Hardly a trick is it. The guy just wants to play football. Not that much he doesn't or it would have been 'worked out' earlier in the season.
Babylon Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Hardly a trick is it. The guy just wants to play football. But doesn't want to sacrifice his wages to get it. Tells you everything you need to know about him.
Jon the Hat Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 But doesn't want to sacrifice his wages to get it. Tells you everything you need to know about him. Yes. He is smarter than he looks.
Babylon Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Yes. He is smarter than he looks. If he doesn't want to take a pay cut then that's fine, it's his choice. But don't go bleating that all he wants to do is play and bang on about how much you want to leave every 5 minutes, acting like there is nothing he can do about it.
lcfcsnow Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 But doesn't want to sacrifice his wages to get it. Tells you everything you need to know about him. He only became a professional when he was 24, he wouldn't have had a massive bank balance before he was offered the chance to win the lottery with a contract at City. As much as it's hurting us as a club, I can't see the benefit in leaving and earn at least 50% less, 4 years here should see he has no money worries after his somewhat short 'professional' career compared to alot of footballers.

Agreed, but see Babylon's post above. He tries to make out that it is all out of his hands.

CosbehFox Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Agreed, but see Babylon's post above. He tries to make out that it is all out of his hands. The deal was there in the Summer, mentioned in the same paper, read the fans comments.
