Rik stayed in my dads hotel when “Bad News” played the Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park in 1986.

He and the rest of the band/crew ran up a bar bill which they failed to pay in full on departure.

The hotel sent a standard letter to him asking that the bill (about twenty quid I recall) be settled at his earliest convenience.

His reply was much in the vein of this letter calling it an oversight of an “international global megastar”. He also went on to say how busy he was to deal with such trifling matters in a totally hilarious style. Anyway he enclosed a cheque which my dad never cashed.
