I can't find it, but I remember Bill Bailey actually doing a short bit and breakdown about the dumbing down of The Bill theme tune, they kept the tune the same but changed the time signature at some point in the 90's from 7/4 (I think?) to a straight 4/4. Jamelia did it too when she sampled the Stranglers' Golden Brown for one of her songs so the chorus had a beat chopped off each bar which really pissed my ears off

Yep, I know the one you mean. Yeah, you’re right, they ditched the jazzy time signature.
