England vs Hungary

Because he's always given 100% for England and never let us down in previous tournaments?

Gerrard may have never reached his Liverpool form for England, but there's alot more players that I'd get rid of for lack of committment before him. He's also probably the most talented footballer in the squad, in my opinion, more so than Rooney.

Deadwood like Barry, Crouch, and Wright-Phillips are the type of players that need to be sacked off.

Crouch deadwood? It's England, we're not in the position to class a striker with a 50% scoring ratio as deadwood. Just look at the like for like replacements; Bobby Zamora and Carlton Cole.

I'm not a massive Crouch hater, but people like him, that've peaked, and never quite been good enough, need to be moved on so others can be given a chance.

Less so in the striking department where the lack of options is worrying (as you've pointed out with Carlton Cole and Bobby Z in line), but the defensive and midfield packs can (should) be shuffled, and have been slightly judging by some of the selections, regardless of this game's importance.

1 in 2 goal ratio says it all. Can't believe you want rid of Crouch, theres a lot more deadwood in the squad and to choose Crouchy is quite remarkable really. How about Lampard & Gerrard for starters? Must agree with other players you have labelled as 'deadwood' though, especially Barry, very slow and limited player IMO.

Very concerned that we're playing a friendly so close to the start of the new season, the FA are twats, always have, always will be. Anyway, Capello - i'm lost for words. He claims he will bring through the younger players and axe the world cup flops, has he really? No. He calls up Wes fcuking Brown, who then chooses to retire. How the hell he was selected for any England team completely puzzles me. The mugs at the FA and the squad selections are an absolute farce.

I've never even heard of Fielding.

Neither have the Pakistan cricket team

I think he played for Northampton against us in League 1, not 100 per cent sure though.

Yes he definitely did play at the Walkers, played really well as far as I recall. Didn't go to the Sixfields game so no idea whether he played then too.

Peter Taylor is on the short-list of candidates for a place in the new coaching set-up of England manager Fabio Capello.

It was thought that Gareth Southgate was the hot favourite to join Stuart Pearce and Ray Clemence in the backroom staff.

But Southgate is one of six names under consideration – and Taylor’s one of them.

The 57-year-old has only just taken over at Bradford City, but if England call, then the Yorkshire club are unlikely to stand in his way if a compensation deal can be agreed.

Peter Taylor?

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.

Watch this space for news of Junior Lewis.

From Wiki;

On 20 June 2008, he was reunited with Peter Taylor, his manager at six previous clubs (Dover, Gillingham, Leicester, Brighton, Hull and Stevenage), as he joined the backroom staff at Wycombe Wanderers. When Taylor parted company with Wycombe by mutual consent in October 2009 Lewis also left the club, and the pair subsequently rejoined at Bradford.
