Not going to put my ratings up but i thought we were pretty damn shit today.

Showed fighting spirit to get back into the game and thats a big plus, but we were poor overall IMO.

Kirkland - 7 (Not much to do apart grab the ball out his net, But when called upon did well including an off the line save)

Naughton - 7 (Needs new boots! Usual pacey and tackling)

Davies - 5.5 (Very poor today for his standard, Getting beaten all the time, The ball allways going through his legs & gave away one goal due to a missed interceptioin)

Hobbs - 8.5 (Great tackling and heading, Saved our butt alot of times!)

Cunningham - 7 (Pacey and good tackling needs to drop back abit more though and get those tackles in!)

Abe - 6 (Not the best today, Beaten alot and passes were poor)

King - 8.5 (Saved us alot of times, Dropping back and tackling, Winning balls at corners while at the same time getting up and firing those balls in!)

Wellens - 6.5 (Didnt see much off him today very quiet, But dropped back alot )

Vasell - 8 (Great skill, Running with those balls and out running people all the time. Wins with his head even though he isnt very tall. Pure talent and excellent signing!)

Howard - 7.5 (Won balls and controlled, Needs to work on passing. Good target man as usual but needs to keep shots down. SUPER STEVVEE)

Gallagher- 6.5 (Out-skilling, Good winger, Out running. Good winger but has strong competition from dyer as dosent get into space like dyer)

Dyer - 8 (Usual dyer, Changed the game. Added more options and alot more pace, Just needs to play on left as he is left footed!)

Bednar - 7 (People need to cut him some slack, Hes worked on his controll and can win balls. Needs to work on his passes and abit on his control. And dont boo him get behind every player & choice sven makes... UP THE FOXES)

Gallagher was a massive bag of balls today. Again. I'll expand:

Kirkland 5 - uninspiring

Naughton 7 - energetic

Davies 4 - casual

Hobbs 8 - solid

Cunningham 7 - good going forward

Abe 5 - right wing is not his position

Wellens 6 - wasteful

King 8 - great goal, missing for a lot of the game but a threat when involved

Gallagher 2 - for scoring the penalty. Lazy, casual, wasteful and arrogant.

Howard 2 - not sure he won a header. Too slow on the ball

Vassell 6 - mixed bag

Dyer 7 - came on too late. Sven should have changed it in the first half

Bednar 7 - better than Howard

Gallagher was a massive bag of balls today. Again.

Yep, for a right-back he's very easy to play against. One footed, plays with his back to goal, always comes inside.

Davies floundering again, Naughton suffers from overconfidence and Cunningham is the opposite, one mistake and he struggles like hell.

Wellens wasteful with his passing, Abe's most ineffcient game in ages and Howard spent most of the time moaning.

Fair play to Vassell who battled, ran down defenders with little success, once Bednar came on and began to give that shockingly slow centre-back pairing of Collins and O'Brien a bit of game, mistakes started being made by Leeds.

Kirkland - 6 - not convinced

Naughton - 6 - perhaps should have done better with the first, and for fooks sake lad sort your boots out, falling all over the place today.

Davies - 5 - really poor of recent weeks.

Hobbs - 7 - Looking better but still not playing at his best

Cunningham - 6 - Poor defending giving the ball away for the first. Good going foward but i'm not sure about his defending.

Abe - 6.5 - Unspectacular and appeared to pull up injured early on.

King - 7.5 - What a finish! but other than that he didn't offer all that much.

Wellens - 7 - impressive.

Vasell - 7 - good running, got stuck in and won the penalty. Perhaps lucky to stay on after shoving that leeds player.

Howard - 6 - slightly disappointing

Gallagher- 6.5 - good penalty and put his foot in quite a bit more than usual.

Subs:

Dyer - 6.5 - not really in game

Bednar - 7 - looking better and should have had a penalty

Kirkland-6-Ok performance despite the 2 goals. Personally felt he should have intercepted the ball prior to Gradel getting his head on it, but in fairness was probably expecting Naughton to contest the ball for Leeds first. Despite this he pulled off a great reaction save very late in the game to deny Collins.

Naughton-5-Not at the races today unfortunately. His slip when tracking Gradel lead to a free header for the little man and cost us the first goal. Didn't seem his normal reliable self and looked very uncomfortable on the ball.

Davies-5-Caught napping for the first goal but played ok for the remainder of the game.

Hobbs-8-Great performance from Jack today. Looked very solid and covered well.

Cunningham-6-Solid and reliable as ever but didn't offer as much going forward as he normally does.

Abe-6-Played ok when called upon but struggled to impose himself on the game and seemed to struggle physically against a very physical Leeds midfield.

Wellens-6-Typical bulldog performance closing down quickly and making his presence known. Despite this as usual he gave possession away far too cheaply at times when the simple ball was the better option.

King-7-Dipped in and out of the game but looked very threatening on the break in the last quarter of the game and scored a truly outstanding goal.

Gallagher-5-This would easily have been a 4 had he not scored a good penalty under a lot of pressure at 0-2 with Leeds doing their best to use gamesmanship to distract him. As ever he was vastly non existent and bottled lots of challenges as he seemed afraid of getting hurt.

Howard-5-Useless, offered nothing up front other than winning the occasional flick on to the invisible man. Didn't seem to show the desire he did earlier in the season and looks very much on his last legs.

Vassell-6-Didn't offer anything out wide, but his pace seemed to cause Leeds lots of problems when he moved in field and we switched to a 4-4-2. Did well to win the penalty.

Dyer-7-Caused Leeds all sorts of problems with his pace when he came on and forced Gradel to play deep and defend his own box.

Bednar-7-Looked far more mobile than Howard and seemed to make better use of his aerial ability often picking out a city shirt with his header's. Very unlucky not to be awarded a penalty, which had we not already been awarded a penalty would have been a certainty.

Sven-6-We seem to struggle with 4-3-3 against the physical sides in this league as we often get over run and bossed in midfield. Took a long while to change it but his brave decision to switch to 4-4-2 salvaged a point in what looked to be a game heading for defeat.

Leeds-7-Played as you would expect a Simon Grayson side to play. Offered very little in attack but took their chances well. They weren't technically outstanding, but were very well organised, physical, and came with a game plan that almost got them the 3 points.

Ref-4-Terrible decision not to send the keeper off and got the second penalty decision very wrong indeed.

I think everyones being a little bit harsh on gally to be honest. plus it was like a show of Gallagher showboating today and most of it actually payed off. I thought him, and Hobbs too worked hard today and ran about a lot with great skill but other players had bad touches to put on the end of it all. I have a lot of respect for him and he is technically brilliant.

Hobbs 7 - Only player to have a good game in the defence

Cunningham 5 - I'd put Berner in, especially against the physical teams.

King 8 - Would have got 6/7, didnt do anything wrong or great, but then scored a great goal

Gallagher 4 - People are starting to agree that he is shit. He only gets 4 because of the pen.

Gallagher - 6 (He may be described as a fairy, but he does have the flair when needed. His penalty showing that off)

I agree with this. Gallagher put in a good shift today, some nice little flicks and touches, he had a really good understanding with cunningham and he tracked back and tried to tackle a bit. Was always trying to get play moving quickly and was often just a few inches away from playing the perfect ball. Yes he is weak in the tackle, Steve Howard is slow, Andy King is crap in goal, no-one is perfect, yes he sometimes tries to do overly complicated things when a simple ball would be better, but I would rather we lost possession trying a killer ball than just passing it out of play.

Gallagher has improved massively since Sven took over, he's scored 3 pens, a couple of free kicks and is now on 6 goals. He is a bit of a luxury and I don't think we have found the perfect position for him yet.

gallagher is balls. He has no strength, no pace and no confidence running at defenders trying to take them on. He scored a penalty under pressure, fair enough, but that is not a saving grace. He is supposed to be one our main attacking threats but all he does is get pushed off the ball or turn his back to their goal and use cunningham. His "technical ability" can do one. I wasn't cming on here to slate in but I'm not gonna let there be a love in either.

Aside from him, I didn't think anyone was much good today.

Kirkland had no chance with the first but should have saved the second and was very shakey in general.

Naughton clearly needs some new boots.

Davies and Hobbs were just well, meh. Don't recall anything of note.

Cunningham worries me, I think he needs to be more confident in taking people on, seems to be too scared to have a go and comes back inside most of the time.

Thought Abe, King and wellens were ok, nothing special apart from King's absolute beauty to save the day.

Already mentioned Gally.

Howard was poor.

Vassell did little first half, got at them more when we got a foothold.

Dyer is a great impact sub but he needs to start. Him and Vassell either side of bednar scared them shitless, which is my main problem with gallagher, he just doesn't get at people, but in a 4-3-3 that's something he absolutely has to.

Disapointed with Bednar, has still not won a header despite being a "target man" and have yet to see him strike on goal.

In my (rather drunk) eyes:

Kirkland - 6 (positioning is actually frightening. Seriously. Never felt comfortable with him even during the first half when Leeds didn't threaten. Not seen the replay but thought he should've done better with their 2nd).

Naughton - 6 (caught out of position SO many times it was unreal. Scarily so. Did better after the break but struggled somewhat for strength against Max Gradel of all people).

Davies - 5 (pretty poor in my opinion, more of his "pub player" kind of performance than the dependable defender we've come to expect. Disappointing indeed).

Jaaaaaaaack - 8 (absolute rock. Covered for Curtis many times and BOSSED that diving little cvnt Becchio with relative ease. Rarely caught flat-footed and back to the Jaaaack of the Pearson era).

Cunningham - 7 (I like the lad. Dominated his man and looked to get forward at every opportunity. Exciting little full-back and probably going on to big things; will be better than Naughton in the end imo).

UKIP - 6 (should not play out wide. Awful first half, offered a lot more second but still a below-par performance. Meh).

Wellens - 6 (first half bought a couple of cheap freekicks and very guilty of over-playing near our own box. Same second, really. Should've been better. Looked SO much more assured when we were controlling things after scoring. Largely anonymous until then).

King - 6 (EXTREMELY anonymous 1st half, did sweet FA. 2nd half was a changed man willing to commit defenders and run them towards their own goal. Much more like the Andy KING, Andy KING, Andy Andy KING we've come to know. Strike for the equaliser was fvcking unbelievable and led to carnage for myself in the Kop).

Gallagher - 4 (actually fvcking abysmal. Seriously. Aside from his pen and ONE good corner, he was fvcking useless. Understood all the criticism of him today. Inept. Slowed the play down too often when it was crying out for more pace and invention).

Steve - 5 (NEVER going to win a freekick in and around the box, will get decapitated one day and still be booked for fvcking dissent. Produced some great hold-up play but lacks any pace and was highly ineffective in my eyes with a distinct lack of support from his forward men or midfield).

Dee Vee - 7 (work-rate, strength and deceptive pace personified. I love me a bit of Darius. Unlucky not to score. Kept putting the work in and I'd have loved him to have done that Leeds defender in during the little melee in the second half. LAD).

Subs:

Lloyd - 7 (looked to run shaky defenders and caused a fair few problems when he got on. The game was crying out for him and I'd have loved us to use him a little more and give him a run at their clueless back 4).

Bednar - 5 (put it about a bit but was pretty ineffective I felt, held the ball up and won 1 or 2 headers but did little else of any real importance?).

I can't believe anyone's stood up for him. The nadir was the 20 yard pass to nobody that went out for a Leeds corner at 2-0 down.

I'd love to see some pass completion stats for him. I bet we'd be looking at less than 60%.

I gave him a 2 because he was shit. If 5's an average mark, and i thought he was shit, why give him a 4?

The guy's a total luxury. On current form, we're going nowhere fast with him in the side.

Gallagher gets a goal from a penalty after putting Vassell through, and some of you still give him a 2's and 4's.

Gally had a decent game today, occasionally over elaborate but he put in more of a shift then a few today, which I find ironic as he's the one who lacks "bravery." The ball that put Vassell through came from winning a battle with the Leeds defender, so I find that based on today's performance, saying he isn't brave is absolute pish, however I can agree there have been games where he's been a luxury we can't afford, however, today wasn't one of them.

Abe - 5 - I'm a big fan of his but this wasn't his day

Gallagher - 7 - so frustrating, lots of skill and nices touhces and could be so much more. Love his penalties

Howard - 6 - won the ball well but probably shouldn't be starting, he is made to be our super sub

Main points - Defence was a bit shit today. Hobbs made Naughton and Davies look non-league.

Gally put through Vassell and scored the penalty. He didn't play badly as everyone here says. He isn't a winger you know, he doesn't run at players. Who else can we rely on to score all his penalties, score the odd free kick and put in good free kick deliveries?

I'd like to say 4-4-2 please Sven. The 4-3-3 isn't to my liking.

Kirkland-6 (One outstanding save from collins near the end but not the least bit decisive or convincing when the ball's crossed into the area and some of his didstribution is suspect too. Not in any way the keeper we need for the future).

Naughton 5.5 (Poor. seemed to be wearing the wrong studs. Cost us dearly for the first goal)

Davies 6. (Indifferent. At fault for their second goal and not generally convincing at all)

Hobbs 7.75 (Didn't have to face undue pressure but was the only competent in a shaky defence).

Cunningham 6 (No more than alright).

Abe-6 (Lost in the mellees much of the time and we did far better when he went off)

Wellens-6.5 (Never hides when the going gets tough and this game was no different even with Leeds closing down so quickly and effectively).

King 8 (Man of the Match for me for staying so typically cool to score an outstanding and so-important goal. Had athat been someone else it would have ended anywhere but on target but he stayed steady and focused, smashing the ball in exactly the way he intended. He was also mostly cool enough to keep playing the ball accurately despite constant close attention. Yes, he made mistakes but one individual run was threatening and he was well placed to have finished a couple more moves had the final delivery been better)

Gallagher-6 (That includes one for his positively taken and much-needed penalty. But generally he takes far too long on the ball, fails to win anything 50-50 because he doesn't have the attitude and his corners/free-kicks were as disappointing as usual. I keep hearing how we work on em but don't see a shred of evidence. Doubtless Fatbloke and Finners will have seen something that I should marvel at and some reason I should rever the so-called "professionals" But, whatever it was i missed it and how long is time enough? No goal from a corner in how long? And not much in the way of near things either. Put simply we have no imagination or accuracy at all)

Howard 5.5 (Policeman plod)

Vassell 5.75 (Won the penalty. Literally. His touch past the goalkeeper ruined any chance of his scoring and from where I sat, while the keeper did impede him, Vassell veered into the keeper to make it worse. It looked cynical and calculated on both parts To have sent the keeper off would have been harsh cos i'm not at all sure that penalty wasn't contrived. Bednar had a much more "honest" shout.

Dyer 7 (Made a difference as usual with his positive thrusts and ability to occupy people).

Bednar 5 (Someone said on the radio that he won more than Howard in the air but I didn't see him win much. Should definitely have won a penalty though - the referee simply copped out - and he make his presence felt in the danger zone which is more than Howard managed.)

Overall:

Not impressed. We were fortunate to get away with conceding the first two goals and looked pathetically lightweight both in attack and defence during the first half.

Not sure we knew what we were trying to do for much of the time. Abe was a weakness in midfield, Gallagher like a dancing fairy on the left wing and Vassell continued to be a disappointment. Every team is going to close us down quickly from hereon in and we have to be ruthless enough to combat that using pace, width.

and fast, accurate passes into an occupied penalty area. We were missing most all of that.
