wednesdayfan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hi i am a sheffield wednesday fan and we have been linked with your center half michael morrison as you all may know but on the radio today (bbc radio sheffield) it was annonced hes very close to signing for us... have you heard this? is he good?... thank you wednesday fan in peace
Finnegan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He's tidy mate. Losing out to our ambitions but, without wanting to be patronizing, he'd do a good job for you.
Babylon Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hi i am a sheffield wednesday fan and we have been linked with your center half michael morrison as you all may know but on the radio today (bbc radio sheffield) it was annonced hes very close to signing for us... have you heard this? is he good?... thank you wednesday fan in peace He'll only sign for you if we manage to get in an experienced centre half I think. We only have Hobbs, Vitor (injured at the moment), Mee (just signed on loan and never played a game) and Bamba (who has only just signed and not played a game).
cc_star Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hi i am a sheffield wednesday fan and we have been linked with your center half michael morrison as you all may know but on the radio today (bbc radio sheffield) it was annonced hes very close to signing for us... have you heard this? is he good?... thank you wednesday fan in peace Some people will tell you he's shit as he was out of sorts under Sousa at the beginning of the season... a spell on the sidelines seems to have sorted him out, he's just come back in to our team thanks to injury, played 2 games & put 2 good shifts in. He's quite tough and a bit of hoofer, but he'll get in any team in League 1 and probably any in the Championship up to about 12th, he is a bit limited and for a side who's hopeful of promotion to the Prem he probably lacking in overall quality, but if you're other centre-half can pass, Morrison would be good We'd be sad to lose him regardless of what the haters say, and tbh we don't have enough players to let him go at the minute, unless we have a signing or two to come in this week
AmyLGK Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hi i am a sheffield wednesday fan and we have been linked with your center half michael morrison as you all may know but on the radio today (bbc radio sheffield) it was annonced hes very close to signing for us... have you heard this? is he good?... thank you wednesday fan in peace NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! you can't have him!
Stevosevic Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He's done very well for us in the past 2.5 years. He has had some very good games at this level and was solid all season in League one. Would be a very good signing for any club in League 1.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 I rate him, but he needs someone alongside to organise him IMO. I'd rather he stayed right now, I don't know that we have the cover, but Sven doesn't rate him so from his point of view it would be a great move. I also cynically think that MM will be getting something from the deal too!
Wymsey Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 We desperately need him for Sunday considering he has played well in our previous two games. Would be a good buy for you.
STUHILL Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Good signing for you guys. A talented, young defender with a promising future. I would expect he will turn out to be a solid championship defender in the future. He isn't quite there yet but on his good days, can more than hold his own in this league. No doubt he would be staying if we didn't have this new investment. He is strong in the air, can score goals too, however he does lack pace and can be turned sometimes too easily but I've no doubt he will be a success in League 1 and step up to the Championship with ease if you guys get promoted. Good luck!!!
MrSpaM Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 You sure your not signing Leicesters very own Mark Morrison instead? "RETURN OF THE MAC, HERE'D ISSSSS" On a more serious note, he'd do really well for you guys, and would probably be one of the better defenders in the league. I'd rather we kept hold of him if i'm honest.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 I'd rather he stay here tbh. Decent player to have.
Salieri Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Considering only a couple of years ago he was playing non-league football he's done exceptionally well for us. I would be very sad to see him go.
broughtonblue Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Don't want you to have him. Really promising player who is equally comfortable at centre or right back, with a good shot on him. He will only get better
Kenners Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 What everyone else has said and he's decent in the opposing box from set pieces. Also I believe he needs a solid partnership to play at his best.
ScouseFox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He was good last year playing predominantly at right back. He's good in the air, both defending and when attacking set pieces. At centre back in this league, this season, he's been culpable to a few errors, but that could be a confidence issue. I'd quite like him to stay really, but in league 1, he'd be a good acquisition
ibbosuk Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hi i am a sheffield wednesday fan and we have been linked with your center half michael morrison as you all may know but on the radio today (bbc radio sheffield) it was annonced hes very close to signing for us... have you heard this? is he good?... thank you wednesday fan in peace He is starting to show the form that kept him in the side, he will do a very good job for you, we are trying to move on to the next level, but the Fryatt and Morrison deals might well come back to haunt us, as did the DJ Cambell deal. But we have to move on, good luck to him if you do get him.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Hes a very good player - i dont know why we are selling him, but we have to trust SGE and his judgement
wellyfox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Hey wednesday fan we let you have MM but now you are taking the mick He will serve you well if it happens so good luck Oh has MM sacked your manager yet? If not must be a personal record for him :crylaugh: :crylaugh:
markbsac Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hes a cracking lad ...be sad to seehim go ..but if he cant get into our side and wants first team footie its a good move for him..and he will do a decent job for you...if he goes i wish him all the best
Mack Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He had some absolute mare games at the start of the season, in hindsight probably as much to do with the management 'skills' of paulo sousa as the lad himself. Makes a versitile and credible back up for the first team for us, no doubt mandy has put the mockers on that. You'll have more trouble with mandy in the long run than morrison me thinks.
bigneville Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 hi i am a sheffield wednesday fan and we have been linked with your center half michael morrison as you all may know but on the radio today (bbc radio sheffield) it was annonced hes very close to signing for us... have you heard this? is he good?... thank you wednesday fan in peace Hey Wednesdayfan. Welcome. Michael Morrison is a good defender if all you want him to do is defend. If you want a football playing centre half, then Michael certainly isn't that. He is a very good signing for league one level, but his ability will take him no further than mid-table Championship level. As a out and out defender he will be a good signing for you, but if your looking to build a football playing side (like us) then he isn't the answer for you. Good luck for your season.
Dylan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 In my opinion, he's a fantastic player and would be great at League One level. I think its a huge mistake to let him go- he was probably our best player last season bar King and Hobbs, playing at right-back which is not his natural position, but he filled in and did a job. People say he's been poor this season- but he's only really played under Sousa- and who exactly was good under him? He's a threat from set-pieces, and a top defender imo. Big mistake letting him go (if he does), but good luck to him.
dannythefox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 You'll be getting a great player at a great price people on here think hes worth 250 grand do NOT belive them hes worth easy 650-700 you'll see for yourself when he signs. Let me no what you think.
Maybes Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He'd be a tidy signing for your lot. Would be a shame to see him go as I rate him.
deep blue Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He'd be a tidy signing for your lot. Would be a shame to see him go as I rate him. I agree with all the positive comments on here. Maybe he can't progress beyond steady Championship standard but, as someone has already pointed out, he's stepped up very quickly so far from non-league, and he's still young enough and has the right attitude to continue improving.
