shen Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I've said it before and I'll say it again... Logan Bailly. Outstanding Belgian keeper who's playing for Mogledasudsdbach or whatever they're called... he may cost a few £million, but he'd be worth it. He's been terrible or average at best whenever I've had a glimpse at him. What's special about him?
VampLCFC Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Tomasz Kuszczak in talks with LCFC today about a permanent move, not a loan deal
Stevosevic Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Tomasz Kuszczak in talks with LCFC today about a permanent move, not a loan deal Interesting, where did you hear this mate?
MikeyT Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Tomasz Kuszczak in talks with LCFC today about a permanent move, not a loan deal Where you hear it from mate? Interesting.
Jackirius Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Tomasz Kuszczak in talks with LCFC today about a permanent move, not a loan deal Would be a quality signing if true, The team would be orgasmic with him and a quality LB.
VampLCFC Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Just a bloke at work, he get bits of info every now and then, so don't shoot the messenger Just said he's spoken to the club today
Jackirius Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 I can see it maybe happening if Manuel Neuer signs for Manu.
MikeyT Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 I can see it maybe happening if Manuel Neuer signs for Manu. They've just signed that Anders Lindegaard haven't they. New keeper.
ajthefox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Would it really be so much to give Weale some backing, at least until summer? Weale has proven he is good enough for this division, and even though Kuszczak would be a significant improvement, he is hardly, from what I recall, the steadiest of performers.
Jackirius Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 They've just signed that Anders Lindegaard haven't they. New keeper. Yeh, thinking about it, he will probably take 2nd choice and then Neuer come in as a replacement for VDS when he retires at the end of the season.
ian_marshall Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Yeh, thinking about it, he will probably take 2nd choice and then Neuer come in as a replacement for VDS when he retires at the end of the season. Apparently Utd are close to signing Adler as well so they may well be looking to offload a keeper soon.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 He's been terrible or average at best whenever I've had a glimpse at him. What's special about him? Well having seen him play for Belgium many times and the occasional highlights from the German leagues, I always thought he looked very assured and like a top draw keeper. Perhaps I've only seen him in his good games...
demon_dog Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 A newpaper article recently (last week) stated he (Tomasz Kuszczak) was fed up of sitting on the bench at Man U and wanted first team football. Can fully understand Sven enquiring about him.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Adler is streets ahead of Neuer, he'd be a tidy signing for Man Yoo. Not sure about Kuszczak if I'm honest, would rather we got a 'keeper in permanently, if at all. Weale seems to be getting along fairly steadily at the minute.
HankMarvin Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Tomasz Kuszczak has insisted again he can replace Edwin van der Sar, saying there is no need for Manchester United to find a new number one. Van der Sar, currently suffering from flu, is debating whether to retire from football at the end of the season. United have continued to be linked with several goalkeepers despite signing Anders Lindegaard from Aalesund. But Kuszczak, 28, is determined to become the number one - or move on. He told the Manchester Evening News: "I know I have not got the biggest name in the world, and I do not want this to sound arrogant... I think I am good enough. "I have talked to the boss (Sir Alex Ferguson) a few times and he said we will see what happens at the end of the season. "I know that in the meantime if I get a chance I have to play well because that is the only way I am going to impress him. "If Sir Alex Ferguson decides I am not good enough, then I will look for another club. "Everything is open now. I am realistic about my situation. It would not frighten me to take over as Edwin's successor. Why should it? I am not new here. "If I play for this club long term I will be really happy because that has always been my dream. I came to Manchester to try to be a top goalkeeper for many years like my idol Peter Schmeichel."
Leicesters2ndStrip Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I heared from a pal of mine, who is a scout for a Championship club, that Doncaster may be after Conrad Logan. And he may go if we land Kuszczak or a.n. other
dobbylcfc Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Realy don't know why we need to sign another keeper tbh weales a good keeper let's not forget that in the summer west ham were supposedly after him. If we/when we get back in the prem then fair enough but at the mo it's not a emergency realy Never realy rated kusczcak any way. Blue Army
hackneyfox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I don't believe West Ham were ever interested in Weale. And Doncaster are hoping to get promotion, their Directors have personally paid for Sharp & Kilgallon this season, why on earth would they want Logan? At nearly 41 Neil Sullivan is still a better goalie than either of ours.
Leicfox Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Eriksson admitted he did make an enquiry about Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, but has stressed he is only interested in recruiting a top-quality goalkeeper as he is happy with the performances of current No.1 Chris Weale."Tomasz doesn't want to come to us," said Eriksson. "But I am only interested if he is a top, top keeper. The goalkeeper we have, Chris Weale, is doing very well for us so I am rather confident in him. "We are not going out to buy just a goalkeeper. It must be an absolute top keeper or we will stay with what we have. "I think the last few games Chris has played he has been brilliant for us."

Keepers thrive on confidence, I think Sven is right to say this. Everyone knows one of Capello's big mistakes in the Worldcup was not give a keeper his backing as number 1. The whole whole Kirkland thing was obviously a fiasco, injuries aside his lack of direction for the defence saw them at 6's & 7's and he was out of position for most (all) of his goals against The last person you want to be uncertain on a pitch is a keeper, and Sven's backing is a good thing, although he's kept him on his toes by saying he'd be open to someone who was obviously class.
sdb Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 I can never tell when Weale is or isn't confident. Aside from his first 6 months with us he's been totally inconsistant imo. As soon as I think he's back to something like his best, he makes a mistake. We're right to be looking for another keeper, especially with CL as back up.
The Blur Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 Even if we did signed Tomasz Kuszczak or other keeper, it doesn't neccesary solve our reserve keeper problem because the likehood is that Weale will be relucant to be no.2 and would want to leave so we will still be stuck with Logan
