StanSP Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 They deserve to be top just as much as Preston deserve to be bottom - the table doesn't lie. QPR have done very well, and it's not just Taarabt they can thank - players like Jamie Mackie, Gorkss and the rest of their defence, and now the addition of Routledge has got them to where they are on merit more so than luck. They've pulled out performances consistently and they've got their rewards.
Haydos Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 I'm not bitter. Far from it. Somebody has to be top of the leage and I'd much rather be an overachieving side like QPR who could potentiialy falter at any given moment than a side like Newcastle last year who were clearly a cut above the vast majority of teams in the league. All I was saying is that I don't hold them in as high regard as a lot of people seem to and I don't feel any particular anxiety about the prospect of going to play tehm at their place. Obviously not as much as newcastle but they're getting results, be that with Taarabt's help or not. I don't really think their position is relevant anyway, they're a good squad and we've been troubled by much worse this season and I think that's the thing which prays on peoples minds, the inconsistency. But we've shown recently we can put a run together and we need to push on and prove that competing with the top sides is realistic.
Christoph Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 If we go their and play like an away team not a home team I think we should be fine
filbertway Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Is it just me who think's QPR's squad is quality for this division then?

As for whether they are as good as their position suggests is of course debatable in the sense that i think they have ground out alot of wins but then again at this level that is what youve gotta do. Not sour grapes but when QPR beat Leicester 2-0 at fortress filbo earlier in the season i cant remember them being much better if at all than us? But none the less they definately deserve to be where they are at the mo - unfortunately the table doesnt lie and lets be honest the table tells us we had a shite start to the season under Sousa. up the Foxes
Salieri Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 With the squad we have we shouldn't fear anyone. I fully expect us to win the next three games which will put us either in or extremely close to a Play Off spot so we'll be going into these (admittedly tough) fixtures full of confidence. Both Q.P.R and Cardiff have wobbled a bit of late and I reckon we'll get something out of both games.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Yeah agree with Spiderpig we have nothing to fear and if we do fvck it up we only have ourselves to blame, the squad we have is good enough so no excuses. Up the Foxes
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 We'lll go and get some good points at QPR and Cardiff, before throwing away some at S****horpe. Have to do it the hard way.
ramadaone Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Better playing fields so we can get the ball down and play proper football, unlike at sheff utd. I reckon we've got a great chance to show cardiff were right on their tail Spot on regarding the playing surface - we now have a team full ofplayers who want to get the ball down and play "proper" football and I'm sure this is why were are playing so well at home. What are the playing surfaces like at our away games still to come - hopefully not too many like Bramall Lane
shailen Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Cardiff and qpr shud be worried about playing us
ajthefox Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Cardiff and qpr shud be worried about playing us This. With how we've been doing under Sven they should be just as worried as we are, they deserve to be where they are but if you look at us under Sven you'll see we're right there. Whatever happens, I don't get worrying about the result and "tough games". If we want to get promoted and stay in the prem, we'll be having games as hard as QPR away every week of the season, that's just how it is.
cc_star Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 QPR are beatable, I think on their day Forest, Cardiff take some beating, Forest just may be the best team across the season so far, with their two games in hand on QPR they could take top spot We're capable of beating anyone, as the table since the start of October shows. For my money there's still something not quite right away from home which is preventing us from being world-beaters (at this level) what mustn't do is lay amazing well against QPR, forest or Cardiff and slip up against Barnsely & Bristol City - One game at a time.

Captain... Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Forest can go 2nd. QPR will stay top if Forest win their 2 games in hand. Forest play QPR next week, they don't play the second of their games in hand until 1st of March, so by the time they have played all their games in hand, if they win them all then they will replace QPR at the top. I'm sure that's what he meant.
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 We always play at our best against the so-called better teams. I call them so-called better because, let's face it, QPR were pretty dire when we played them at home. Seem to remember very little football played in that one. It all depends on their style of play. If they come at us, it always suits.
One Arm Babba Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 we're gonna get 6 pts here no bother. That Colin willy puller and his mate with his bag of sweets!!! I'll tell you what... I'll tell you something! We love you Leicester we do, we love you Leicester we do, WE LOVE YOU LEICESTER WE DO.... OH LEICESTER WE LOVE YOU!!!! Forget the other chumps in this league, we gave them a head start. We're better than both these clowns. I reckon we'd win both with Bernie up front!! (Drunk posting again )
AmyLGK Posted 4 February 2011 Author Posted 4 February 2011 I just watched the last 20 mins of the QPR REading game (including the QPR goal - which was very Sven-Leicester-esk) and I've decided that we can have them! They are nothing special! Lets **** them up!

AmyLGK Posted 4 February 2011 Author Posted 4 February 2011 Good job you didn't watch the full 90. It was a bore-fest Yeh it did look very boring! but I thought that may because QPR were down to 10 men!?
shailen Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 I really though qpr played well with 10 men. But we are easily better than that. If we can improve our away form as we have recently then we have got every chance of winning. I am starting to get excited.about the possibility of play offs.
Jakemoore Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 We can beat them all on our day but 1point against either Cardiff or QPR would be great. We're gonna beat Derby, I feel confident about it.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Out of all the away games I've been to, Leicester have never lost, and I'm going to QPR
Salieri Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Calm down people, Sven started well and is now beginning to truly show his mettle. We are going up, probably via the Play Offs but don't rule out automatic just yet. I've even put my money where my mouth is by just lumping £50 on it.
AmyLGK Posted 4 February 2011 Author Posted 4 February 2011 when we were bottom of the table I put a £2 bet on us getting promoted! COME OOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN! :scarf:
