StanSP Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 They are probably gearing themselves up for next Saturday. To them, it would be the perfect match to get things back on track, plus it'll be on Sky (hence the 17.20 kick-off?) Or is that just due to police/safety regulations?
Bugg Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Don't know how Cwyka will react to that. He'll either think of it as a kick up the arse or he'll completely lose confidence and hate Clough.
ajthefox Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 What a ****. I'm amazed he's said half of that. He obviously hasn't ever made a mistake and is just perfect.
Finchy Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 On Waghorn "They've said they want to keep him for now on the bench and use him for the last 5 or 10 minutes" It's nice to know we're annoying him, what a tit. Meanwhile, the presenter makes me extremely grateful to have Stringer, I couldn't listen to this guy for 90 mins.
Bugg Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Nigel Clough is on the verge of a mental breakdown. Especially with getting pissed cause we won't lend him our player.
ajthefox Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Nigel Clough is on the verge of a mental breakdown. Especially with getting pissed cause we won't lend him our player. I think thats down to "MydadwasafootballinglegendsoI'vegotarighttobeanarroganttwat syndrome". He's not the only one, Darren Ferguson has it well. Horrible affliction it is.
Finnegan Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 What a horrible ****. He probably thinks, because his old man was outspoken, that he's got to chip in to some sort of legacy. Well here's the thing, Nige, your old man was a fucking genius. You're just a second rate journeyman with no hope. Regardless of how good or bad your player is he's your player and there's never an excuse for that. I hope Cywka outlasts him at the club and goes on to prove him wrong. Bellend.
Guest Bilo Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 I've said it before and I've said it again. Nigel Clough, with his decidedly average CV, would not have been anywhere near being considered as Derby manager if not for his surname.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Not very professional was he? Mardy twat. "If defenders keep costing you goals you replace them" Yeh and if managers can't put together a team capable of winning a football match you replace them too. He probably wouldn't even be bothered if they sacked him. Doesn't sound like he's enjoying it very much.
gazfox9 Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 What a complete bellend. Waghorn is OUR player so who the fvck is he to comment on where he should be playing his football.
Stevosevic Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Will hopefully cause a few rifts amongst the team before the match on Saturday.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Outrageous comments about Cywka - "not very bright footballer", "go back to Wigan or wherever he came from, I'm not really bothered". I thought Cywka was on loan, however, "On 25 May, it was announced that he (Cywka) would sign a two-year contract with Derby on a free transfer on 1 July, after turning down Wigan's extension offer due to his desire for first team football"
StanSP Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 It's very unprofessional on his part, regardless of how shit Cywyaywka and Derby are. I just hope that their failures continue til next Saturday!
Bryn Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I think it would be a fair argument to say that Nigel Clough is an inexperienced, not very bright twat of a man, living off his father's name, he should go back to Burton Albion, or wherever he came from.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Hes just blaming other people because his team conceded a late equaliser... he should take some responsibility instead of blaming everyone else! Feel sorry for Cywka, not exactly his fault his manager is starting him. I hope for Waghorns sake he doesn't end up there.
Thracian Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Can't imagine Clough lasting much longer. And I'd doubt his chairman would have been impressed hearing that. Okay you might give the manager credit for giving his honest opinion. But a public character assassination of any player by his boss is hard for me to defend and the last thing that's likely to mend a team that's so clearly short of conviction. Besides, Clough picked the bloke - yet admits in the intereview he'd showed naivity before. So where does the fault lie? In the player for not learning or in Clough for picking him despite his shortcomings and perhaps having no other choice because he's not signed adequate alternatives? I just don't see any advantage in Clough's action. He talks about a player doing daft things and then does the daftest himself. Clough doesn't have the credence to get away with wacky eccentricity like his dad. If he's got a player who's malfunctioning then perhaps best to get an interpreter and figure out ways to get the best from him. By all accounts the player's looked okay in the past so Cloughie might look to himself as to why the lad's performance has slipped and why the team might be prepared to accept a point off any championship opposition before the kick-off. Cos I hope i never hear Sven say shit like that and, being fair, I never expect to. As for Waghorn what we do with our player is sod all to do with Clough, though why Waghorn would dream of going there I can't imagine. Waghorn still has a part to play at City. He should keep himself fit, make himself ready and work on the reasons he cannot seem to dislodge some seemingly ordinary competitors for his place. He could start by developing a right foot and by staying balanced enough to get a much higher proportion of his shots on target. He may not know it, but these weeks of being out of our side could be a blessing. Cos without those improvements - and one or two more - Waghorn will get nowhere of any consequence.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Dont rate Clough at all, he has done nothing with Derby, no better than when he came in. Dont think he'll ever get sacked though. Bet the Polish bloke scores against us now.
Anorak Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I heard he wasn't a big fan of Luke Varney either - told him any opposition he scored against while away on loan 'must have been crap'.
Nick Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I thought Clough's comments on his players were unprofessional and demonstrated what little man-management and communication skills he actually possesses - very poor indeed, glad he doesn't manage my football club.
Fox92 Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 I think thats down to "MydadwasafootballinglegendsoI'vegotarighttobeanarroganttwat syndrome". I think Nigel doesn't come over that way, where as Darren Ferguson does. Personally, I like Nigel Clough. And as a football fan I love and look up to Brian Clough. I feel quite sorry for him. He has no money from the owners and has had to sell his top goalscorer two seasons in a row.

You feel sorry for him? He's been walking a tightrope for ages now. There's plenty of other teams who are working on a shoestring budget and coping alright. Do you agree with the comments about Cywka then? Not just this time but also in December too? There's no excuse for his comments and it's definitely not the way to treat your own player. If you have any amount of respect for your OWN players, you don't go berating them and telling them to go back to their own country.
Mikey Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 What a ****. Hope we absolutely annihilate them next week.
