anotherharboroughfox Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 People are trying to get they,re point across thats all and hope to make sven see sense, and im not ashamed to say im one of them. We (the fans) pay our money to go and watch our team and we,re entitled to voice our opinions if we,re not happy! because clearly we've all managed England, Mexico and the Ivory Coast
Walshy5 Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 because clearly we've all managed England, Mexico and the Ivory Coast Sorry I forgot sven can do no wrong
anotherharboroughfox Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Sorry I forgot sven can do no wrong not saying that, but you don't get to manage 3 countries without some foot ball know-how :sge:

Infuriating stuff, I don't get how that's productive in the slightest. Fans shouting that shit should read this. A bit of Bamba in it.....

We (the fans) pay our money to go and watch our team and we,re entitled to voice our opinions if we,re not happy! The problem with you and many other fans is that you carry a very short-term istic view, somtimes 1 step backwards can lead to 3 steps forward, better things may come from ricardo. But what really frustrates me is that ricardo has not even been given the chance to really show himself or his potential yet, FFS he has only played 4 games (not counting derby just the 3) how can you be so quick to judge? He has made a few good saves, and in relation to the goals he has conceded, in my opinion the mistakes had already been made with the defence. At least GIVE HIM A CHANCE before judging him.

Then it's to late, why not stick him in the reserves for a few games!! I no weal has had his moments but he is a lot steadier keeper for this league at the minute,

Keepers need a little longer to find form anyway.

We (the fans) pay our money to go and watch our team and we,re entitled to voice our opinions if we,re not happy! This is probably one of the most delusional comments I've ever read. Sven isn't paid to be a proxy for supporters to chip in their opinions on team tactics, he's one of the most respected managers in the game. He's playing Ricardo because he fits in with his style of play. Anyone yelling Weale during matches thinking they'll change Sven's mind needs their head checked. By all means show disapproval if the team under performs but to pick out individual players is showing more disrespect to Sven and the way he does his job than to the player himself.

Shambolic attitude.
lestajigs Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Another silly goal? Wasn't aware he let in one 'silly goal' yet. Yea because m kings goal was an unstoppable roket into the top corner!! O yea!!!!!!
hackneyfox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Try reading Sven's point about how the defence were also to blame. It was from 6 yards at pace, you don't stop and catch those, you're either lucky or unlucky. Can you guarantee that Weale would have stopped that?
Nunny Fox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 I would personally play Wheal but at the end of the day im not a world class manager like Sven, He knows what Ricardo brings to the table on and off the pitch. Granted Ric should have got down Kings goal but booing is inexcusable in my eyes. Im more pissed of with the fact that we should have had 5 by half time. Yak missed 3 good chances first half no one seems to bat an eyelid but Ricardo conseeds a goal ( he should have got to) and people want his head. The ball should not have got that far in the first place, i would blame slack defending as a unit (again) rather that 1 man!

sbfox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Yea because m kings goal was an unstoppable roket into the top corner!! O yea!!!!!! So every keeper should save every shot that isn't 'an unstoppable rocket into the top corner' or get dropped? Get real. King's shot was low, hard, down at his feet and from 6 yards out. Keeper has a 50-50 chance at saving it, if he somehow manages to get his legs to go the right way.

Yea sod it let's blame everyone, and why the hell hasn't that, old woman who walks around selling programs been mentioned I do not no!!!!

Your blaming 1 man for a game we should have won easily with the chances we had, so your saying the defence couldnt do a thing? You must have been watching a different game mate!!
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 i'm pretty sure the club would rather not have fans like you at the ground and rather have fans that stand by the club no matter what happens! Sadly, in this day & age, I don't think any club could care less whether we had 32,000 fans like that in the ground as long as they paid through the nose to be there. But I'll save that particular rant for another time. Personally, I thought we needed to bring in another keeper in january as back-up to Weale and that's what I thought the Ricardo signing was about. Considering Weale's form & Ricardo's age, perhaps, in hindsight, a little naively, I assumed that back-up was all Ricardo would be. I was very surprised when he started against Derby & I thought it was very harsh to drop Weale but didn't think Ricardo did too much wrong that game. Since then, I haven't been impressed with Ricardo the other 2 times I have seen him but pre-Cov it was a fair point that was made numerous times on here that he hadn't made a mistake that had cost us a goal. Against Cov, I think he should have done a lot better for their goal. I have watched it numerous times and I'm still of the same opinion. Van Aanholt should have done better as well but at the end of the day it was a poor goal to concede from a keeper's point of view. I would never have played Ricardo instead of Weale in the first place but don't think he's as bad as some people are making out. In fact, now that Sven has gone down the road of sticking with Ricardo, I think we should keep him in goal for at least the next few games, possibly until the end of the season. I'm convinced he will get better & us fans should stick with him as well and give him the benefit of the doubt. Chanting 'Weale' is embarassing. It's counter-productive and won't make any difference. If Sven is going to bring Weale back it'll be because of his own judgement, not because he's taken on board the voal opinions of a minority in the crowd.

Babylon Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 You didn't write fact in capitals, so it can't be a fact... FACT. You get real, and accept the FACT that Ricardo is not the better option then weal!!!
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Jesus christ why is this thread even still going. It is clear that some people think Ricardo is the better keeper and could not have done anything about the goal ... others think he is a flapping tool that had a howler. We're never gonna agree on it. Much bigger things to focus on so for fook sake forget about it, move on and look to the playoffs ..
TheUltimateWinner Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Ricardo was off balance for the goal and was shot at close range, Understandable to be let in. Its a hard one to choose but I want to see more of ricardo as he hasnt had a proper shot at him really, (ie. Top corner) Because i know ricardo's good at them

We're never gonna agree on it. Actually I'm not sure many think he is hugely better, they are just trying to back up the guy against all the over the top moaning. I'd rather have weale in goal personally, but I can understand where Sven is coming from and i'm happy to back his call on this one. He'll either be proved right or wrong, in four games we're not going to know which it is.
