Asha Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 i love the royal family because im not a traitor to my country How anyone can feel an honest sense of pride and belonging when they see an old woman waving from time to time is beyond me. Kings and Queens made sense when there was a purpose, like leading a country into battle back in the day. Now they're completely redundant. They're not even English anyway. 'Traitor to my country'

'Traitor to my country' Statements like that can open up a whole can of worms... The bloodline.. where does it start? So someone is only English if you go back.. what 4? 5? 6 generations? 8 ? 9? Do you realise how much of the Population currently holding a british passport that alienates? My great grandparents came over from ireland. Am i suddenly not english even tho every generation since then has been brought up in England? Would you prefer i throw away my england footy top? Fool. So what constitutes being English? do you have any idea how often we have been invaded, conquered and had different nations settle here?

Yes the question of bloodline , (sorry to side track a little ) The whole idea of royalty is based on bloodline, and is nothing without it . I very much doubt that Prince Harry is the first in the lineage to be of suspect parentage . So if for some reason Harry ascends to the throne in place of his brother , many will suspect the royal bloodline to be a farce Does anyone really believe this hasn't happened before ? So whatever the history may state about who was who's son or daughter , the reality of paternity is probably quite different.
Zingari Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Get them on Jeremy Kyle for DNA testing. even JK has his standards ps are you the poster formerly known as foxy pv ?
ACF Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Well, Australians want to become a republic, but as soon as Will comes out here we go nuts. Keep them, I think we should keep them even as faux-figureheads of society.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 I've often heard this stated , but how do they know and how is it worked out ? I've never once been asked why i am visiting London and know no-one who has , and if asked the last reason I would give is " I've come to visit the Queen " Visitors would probably still go to royal palaces and castles etc as attractions , just as they do in other countries . The fact that there is an old woman sitting inside with a crown on would make very little difference if any to most visitors I'd say I work in Covent Garden and I swear half the shops here get by based on the amount of tat they sell with the Queens face on it!

Finnegan Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Would you prefer i throw away my england footy top? Well, if you're asking me, most definitely.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 - how is not loving the royal family betraying your country? For the record i'm anti-royal. your entitled to your opinion How anyone can feel an honest sense of pride and belonging when they see an old woman waving from time to time is beyond me. Kings and Queens made sense when there was a purpose, like leading a country into battle back in the day. Now they're completely redundant. They're not even English anyway. wurmer Posted 22 March 2011 Posted 22 March 2011 Couldnt be less interested if I tried - so much in fact, I nearly couldn't be arsed to vote.

Guest DavidJCW Posted 27 March 2011 Posted 27 March 2011 I said yes... but only because I've got the day off work. That's worth celebrating, and if it so happens to coincide with the wedding, then I'll stick it on the box and watch a bit of it!
AoWW Posted 27 March 2011 Posted 27 March 2011 Hmm, my other half claims to have no interest in it whatsoever... but seeing as he fancies the pants off Kate Middleton I'd be very surprised if he doesn't turn the TV on for a quick perv.

He'll probably only watch it for 3-5 minutes maximum and get bored of looking at her, so relax!
MikeyT Posted 27 March 2011 Posted 27 March 2011 He'll probably only watch it for 3-5 minutes maximum and get bored of looking at her, so relax! Suppose it depends how low the neckline on her dress is.
Zingari Posted 27 March 2011 Posted 27 March 2011 Would it be wrong if i toss one off over Kate during the wedding? surely it's a long standing tradition
accessory Posted 28 March 2011 Posted 28 March 2011 A month to go, and apparently not one street party has been booked in Leicester yet!
ajthefox Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 i love the royal family because im not a traitor to my country I hope this is some really shite joke that doesn't make sense. Implying someone is a traitor just because they don't like the royal family is fvcking moronic.
Haydos Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 People must have come across this? Drinking game Think we'll use it as an excuse for a beer or two
Jon the Hat Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 No. They are no longer needed and past their sell by date. This is a great concept. We could clean up the whole country! We don't need those old Palaces and castles any more! Knock them down! Who needs those stupid statues and monuments clogging up the streets? Clear some room for car parking, much more useful. The list could be endless!!

Think of all the affordable housing that could be built, for all those that think the Royals are a family from Liverpool that come on our box Christmas day! Most countries would love our heritage and royalty, and im proud to have our castles, monuments , palaces and stately homesWe are so lucky.i just wonder how many think you are being serious. Im more concerned about all the bank holidays playing havoc with my sales figures!!!
Zingari Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 I don't think even the most ardent anti royalist would consider knocking down all the royal palaces and castles even the French weren't that stupid
