acooling08 Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I was loving the abuse of King at the game yesterday. Hope Sven was listening.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Hes a twat. However,If he scores and we go up, ill be delighted. I support Leicester City not Marlon King.
Stevosevic Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Not sure why people are so keen on Riordan. Slightly above average in the SPL, failed massively at Celtic. Kris Boyd had an incredbile return in that league, not so great in the Championship.
stockyfox Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 If he did come - and I hope to God that he doesn't (as discussed in my earlier posting on this thread), then we could have th'Yak (if he stays) and he could be T'hug........Just a thought!
Tuna Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 The People are notoriously bad for accurate reporting, this is all rubbish IMO Sven would not sign a player of his calibre, King is a Pearson signing too old and not good enough.
sw_fox Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I would be disgusted if we signed the woman beating piece of shite. Sexual assault, common assault, drink driving, dangerous driving, handling stolen goods, TWO prison sentences(adding up to 3 years in total behind bars, the second sentence for punching and sexually assaulting a woman and only receiving 18 months- not long enough imo) and finally while he was at Hull he punched Dean Windass in the face on a night out. Just on reputation and his past charge sheet alone I would not touch him with a barge pole, even if he had the skills of Ronaldo. He will be a dividing disrupting influence for the fans, team and members of staff. If you were a boss would you employ him as a member of staff with that record? Also he is a step backwards technically. If we manage to sign Kamara and Yakubu then he will be vastly inferior to both of them. There is no way he will get 20 goals for anyone next season. To sum it up: No, no and no some more.

Pearson, players that are too old and not good enough ? Players such as Hobbs & Wellens spring to mind.
stockyfox Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Just another thought! The topic description to this thread adds 'We and Cardiff want him'. Is that the Football clubs or the Police? and yet another thought, if he had done any or all the alleged criminal acts in Thailand and had been subject to Thai law, would he have been doing what he is doing now? I hope that that thought also crosses the mind of Top!
Petchy Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 The cons outweigh the pros for me. The major one being that it'll disrupt the dressing room MASSIVELY. Players won't be able to trust someone like him and this will probably translate to on the pitch too.
dan77 Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Can't see the problem with signing King!! I understand his history but he has taken his punishment each time and in the last year since he has been at Cov I've heard nothing about him being disruptive, from what I hear the Cov fans love him! I'm not saying that I support what he has done but if he comes to leicester and takes us up by scoring 20+ goals it would be great business on a free!!
Adster Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Funny thing is, Cov fans were actually acting the same way we are before him signing, now they've all completely forgotten about it

That's part of the problem though, he hasn't learned each time he's done something wrong and keeps getting himself into trouble. It's only a matter of time before he's at it again. The Cov fans would love him, most of them are just as bad as he is, they don't see what he's done wrong
hackneyfox Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Funny thing is, Cov fans were actually acting the same way we are before him signing, now they've all completely forgotten about it That would depend upon which co* fans you talk to, many of them have not forgotten about it and there are a few that won't go while he is there.

Petchy Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 And you know that how? Common sense. Wayne Brown was forced out this club over admitting he voted BNP, so obviously a criminal sex offender is going to be welcomed with open arms by the lads in the dressing room...
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 I think racism, with multiple black players in the dressing room, is going to cause slightly more tension than something he did in his own time and served time for. Not condoning it but to compare the two is silly.

You practically are condoning it though - so you don't think that the players are going to mind someone who is pathetic enough to lash out at women who reject his advances? I'm sure they'd be completely at ease with him for sure seeing as most of them have families...

Wayne Brown was forced out this club over admitting he voted BNP, so obviously a criminal sex offender is going to be welcomed with open arms by the lads in the dressing room... How on earth can you even link the two events? What Brown did was personal to a set of people in the dressing room. King has done nothing to them personally.

I'm sure they'd be completely at ease with him for sure seeing as most of them have families... I am not condoning it at all, just saying it is not comparable to racism in a dressing room. This is like saying none of the Chelsea team would speak to Terry again as he is an adulterer. I think King is a thug and can totally see why fans would be upset at having him but to say this will automatically cause issues in the dressing room is a huge assumption.
Petchy Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 The difference is that violence is involved. People who are violent don't change, no matter how much they claim too. I think we could do without any potential problems in the dressing room so why take the gamble?!
