The "do they mean us?" thread

Recommended Posts

I don't see the big hype over Leicester. They have hardly signed any class players have they?

Lee Peltier = Big wow hardly a good player, big test for him in the NPC

Neil Danns = An ok player but hardly consistent if they want promotion

Kasper Schmeichel = There best buy so far, good keeper

Sean St Ledger = Not a bad defender

David Nugent = Was always overrated and all in all a pretty crap striker

I forgot Bristol City had such an amazing team. :crylaugh:

The Bristol bigots win it outright again!

They don't even know we're owned by a consortium worth far more than only the Raksiaksorn fortune.

But then again, how could they possibly know that.

the last time they spent loads and signed a load of new players like this they got relegated

Yeah, we spent loads on the Holloway disaster, did we. Let's face it, Mandy didn't like to get his cheque book out, so he negotiated by forcing the opposing party to mud-wrestle with him.

Hence all the mostly cräp players signed during his tenure.

And obviously Bristol City fans forget about the four defenders assisting in Leeds' 70 goals against last season! Hardly only Schmeichel's fault.giggle.gif

While I think West Ham should be favourites to win the league, an awful lot of them seem to be writing players off as "average Championship players" when they probably never actually watch football in this division.

You can't tell what their squad will look like but they'll retain most, if not all, of their youngsters and that - coupled with Allardyce and the signings of Faye and Nolan - is enough to make them favourites in my opinion.

It's disappointing the amount of clubs (I'd say fans but it seems like certain clubs have a general consensus among them) that can't at least try to have an objective opinion and instead are posting negatively towards us based on bitterness and possibly jealousy. The standard argument is "Spending money doesn't guarantee you success".

Well, yeah. But it certainly gives you a lot better chance.

st ledger for £3m. Even were not that daft with our money.........or are we?.

Ha ! Know what you mean.

Something tells me that if we don't go up this season, It's all gonna go tats up for everyone concerned.

The owners want results and are prepared to buy em so Sven had better get it right. I think he will though. GULP !! :fc:

Coventry

Possible the most deluded fans I have ever come across. All our signings are shit, and they wouldn't take any of them :giggle:

OTIB has a contender for mongfest forum then.

They actually think their backline couldn't accommodate Sean St. Ledger, who has played out of his skin at international level and is highly rated by Trappatoni.

The best is 'Jutkiewicz is better than Nugent' though, surely a wind up?

With the west ham forum especially, its hard to know if they saw much of us last season. I don't know much about any teams in the leagues below us, as it doesn't concern us. Perhaps the west ham posters are like me. The reason i'm saying that is because they're asking who from our team would be good enough in theirs.

I can think of a few. Gally, king and wellens for a start. I also think waghorn will make a very good championship striker, if given enough games. Then you have tunchev if fit, and dyer is another who I could see making a big impact in any team wanting to win the championship next season.

Some on there are quite knowledgeable but jeez some just don't get it.

You don't need superstars to succeed in this division, look at QPR team full of good championship players, who worked hard for one another and were hungry for success.

I'm delighted with the squad Sven is assembling, think we make shock a few people next season!

Accoring to this lot -

Schmichael, Danns, Nugent, St Ledger, Peltier are all average.

5million is a joke for such an average player. (Matt Mills.)

Thai owners dont have a great track record and will walk out leaving us in administration.

'Were buying the leaue'.

'Were gunna fail'.

Almost the whole Championship talking about us. Loving every minute of this :crylaugh::crylaugh:
