Kent Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Why would he be at the ground to sign when we're currently in sweden? Doesn't Andrew Neville finalise deals? He wouldn't be in Sweden I don't think.
whitlock Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 With his agent? Was he wearing a badge saying, 'I'm Owens Agent.'
Wymsey Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 I rather we have someone younger and has already got good experience at this level and knows the league well. Playing someone like Hargreaves, who has played nearly zilch over the past year is likely to cause risks.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Hey Zaphod What lunacy ? ffs it was a comment nothing more or is no one else allowed to have an opinion on here ? Have an opinion that actually makes sensem then.
Haydos Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Have an opinion that actually makes sensem then. Get out your own arse, he has a perfectly reasonable point. Your unquestioning attitude toward a player like this makes less sense................................
lestajigs Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 And why the hell would the, owners be there at the front???? To unlock the doors and let him in!!!

LestaFox92 Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 And why the hell would the, owners be there at the front???? To unlock the doors and let him in!!! Maybe because they like him as a player fan's of what he's done respect him maybe they norrmaly do it just not always here to ?

Fox 4 Life Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Speaking to WBA this week according to Sky Sports http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_7044688,00.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
berniethebolt Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Not massive news but an update. (5mins ago 21/07) Looks like Westbrom are in no rush to hold talks. http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/west-bromwich-albion-fc-news/2011/07/21/west-brom-transfer-latest-owen-hargreaves-talks-put-on-hold-97319-29092346/
Bezzanator89 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Come on Hargreaves, break a leg and pick a club.
foxes2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Owen Hargreaves. What is there to say. Once an iconic player a hertbeat in munich side, a class act in his first season with Man Utd was in my opinion key to there sucess in the champions league and premier league campaign in the 2008 season. All of what happened earlier was washed away when Hargreaves started to get nigles that turned into major injures and this once top England star is on his knees in a career that has gone unluckly rong. This is a man who almost single handed drove englands world cup time during svens england management. I think if he can prove his fitness in a pay as you pay deal he is definatly worth a "punt" and a second chance to ignite. Leicester City would be a great place for Hargreaves to try and get back to the big time and i think hes worth a shot i hope this one comes of and we give this big hearted player a second shot. But i think he wants premier league that might be why we have not got him on trial or something yet, whats everyone think, Hero or Zero?? :sge:

Hargeaves and a striker would be the final pieces in the picture. Would really love this to happen and at 30 years old (so looking for more than one season) I think we can offer him at least as much opportunity as West Brom
Guest shearfox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Hargreaves would be more than a welcome addition, I feel he still has a lot to offer and at this level he would be the best in the division without doubt...

Bezzanator89 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Pay as you play, is the only feasible option for such an injury prone player, end of story. Can't see us shelling out much in wages if he does come here then.
berniethebolt Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 I think we should take a punt and give the guy a one year 10k contract which has a 25k approx appearance bonus. That way he gets a steady income which is clearly what he is looking for. If he has to take a pay as you play then I'm sure there are plenty of premier league outfits that's will offer that as it's risk free, so just offering the the same as everyone else would mean we would surely miss out. Thts assuming Sven still wants the guy. I do!

Thts assuming Sven still wants the guy. I do! I agree that if were to sign him, a contract that is mostly appearance fee would be a good idea, but if it turns out he remains fit for most games, we could be paying him 60, or even 85 grand a week if he plays 3 games in 7 days, which is mental. I thought he was England's best player at the 2006 world cup. To be honest, he seemed like the only one who really looked to be trying his best. Obviously, I think he'd be a great signing. I just hope we don't end up breaking the bank over a player who lives in the physios room.

I agree with this, a lot of premiership clubs could offer him pay as you play so we need to make our proposition more appealing and I personally think this would be the only way.
JimmyB Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Don't know if it's already been mentioned (apologies if it has) but we are currently odds on favourites to sign him with skybet.. My link
