Darkon84 Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Who's out for Chelsea? Ivanovic, Terry (two of their first choice back four) Ramires (mobile attacking midfielder) who else? Meireles and Mikel too. Id fancy Bayern against a midfeild pairing of Lampard and Romeu.
Bugg Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Who's out for Chelsea? Ivanovic, Terry (two of their first choice back four) Ramires (mobile attacking midfielder) who else? Meireles. Cahill may also not be playing as he may not recover from his injury in time. Meireles and Mikel too. Id fancy Bayern against a midfeild pairing of Lampard and Romeu. Mikel isn't suspended, and even if he was, They'd play Michael Essien instead of Romeu.
foxfanazer Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Badstuber, Gustavo and Alaba. Two of their first choice back four and their ball winning box-to-box midfielder. Thanks, think Chelsea have a great chance. Drogba will terrify their defenders
MC Prussian Posted 26 April 2012 Author Posted 26 April 2012 Thanks, think Chelsea have a great chance. Drogba will terrify their defenders Just like he did against Barcelona, on his own?
purpleronnie Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 I think chelsea would have prefered real madrid, bayern munich at home are unbelievably good, madrid at a neutral venue may have been a bit easier, but then again chelsea beat and then drew against barca, so who the hell knows. Its just funny real and barca arent in the final.
foxfanazer Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Just like he did against Barcelona, on his own? Yeah, plus he will actually get some service this time as Chelsea shouldn't be camped in their own half all game
Haydos Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Just like he did against Barcelona, on his own? He caused them no end of problems considering his situation and put in a right shift at left back in the 2nd half.
Guest Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 After all the English football fans love in with Messi and the spanish leagues, I think it's great that Messi missed a penalty and NO spanish teams are in the Final. Go the English (even if they are Cheatsea).
AyewJoking Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 How many does Bayerns ground seat? I suppose Chelsea and Bayern will be allowed 20,000 each, the rest corporate???
MC Prussian Posted 26 April 2012 Author Posted 26 April 2012 He caused them no end of problems considering his situation and put in a right shift at left back in the 2nd half. Don't get me wrong, Drogba did a fantastic job as a defender against Barcelona and worked his a*se off to help his team protect the 2-2 overall score before Torres scored at the end. I'm just saying that Chelsea can't just rely on Drogba solely to create havoc, they need to focus tremendously if they want to beat Gayern at home in the Champions League final. Also, how many Gayern fans will now be able to get a ticket for the final, now that it's in Munich? Surely they'll have to spread allocation evenly between Gayern and Chelsea fans and the glory hunters from Asia, Europe and the US.
StanSP Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Yeah regardless of it being at Munich's stadium, it'll still be a neutral venue in terms of the competition. So tickets will be spread evenly. It can seat up to 69,000.
shen Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 I think it's striking how naïve both Real and Barca were in these semifinals. There's no doubt they have the two strongest squads in the world, but it's almost as if they took it for granted to get to the final. Bayern were the dominant team over large periods in both games, despite Real obviously having the superior talent and ability. I'm glad Mourinho failed with those resources at his disposal. Barca, one could argue, were unlucky not to go through, but it once again highlighted their flaws going forward and at the back. And it was nice to be able to set the 'human' label on Messi and Ronaldo. They've both been unreal and match-winning on so many big occasions, that it was getting unthinkable that anyone could actually beat their team if they were playing. Glad they're just 'greats' and not machines anymore...
ADK Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 So several first team players suspended for both sides. Final of the competition being played at a non-neutral venue. How stupid.
Corky Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 So several first team players suspended for both sides. Final of the competition being played at a non-neutral venue. How stupid. Of course, they knew that Bayern would get there when it the venues were announced.

Haydos Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Of course, they knew that Bayern would get there when it the venues were announced. Bayern were probably 3rd favourite for the competition. There was a very good chance of them getting to the final. 1) Why not pick a non-favourite? 2) If you have to pick one of the favourites what are the reasons for not being able to move it to a back up venue?
21st Century Fox Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Terry's allowed to lift the trophy if Chelsea win, UEFA have decided.

I would imagine because of all the work and preperation for the final months in advance.

Darkon84 Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Terry's allowed to lift the trophy if Chelsea win, UEFA have decided. Seriously? UEFA have allowed that? I thought the proposal was just to allow the players that received yellow cards to play, and that Terry would still miss out as it was a straight red?!
Mack Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Terry's allowed to lift the trophy if Chelsea win, UEFA have decided. They are even laying on the Black and White minstrels to present it...........
Raj Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Hope Bayern rape Chelski in the Final. That would wipe the smugness off Dematteo's face.
Haydos Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Seriously? UEFA have allowed that? I thought the proposal was just to allow the players that received yellow cards to play, and that Terry would still miss out as it was a straight red?! Yeah, god forbid a club captain from lifting the trophy! They're letting him in the ground, it's an outrage!
Fox92 Posted 26 April 2012 Posted 26 April 2012 Yeah, god forbid a club captain from lifting the trophy! They're letting him in the ground, it's an outrage! He kicked another player, off of the ball, and was, correctly, shown a red card. It's his fault he isn't playing in the final, so why should be be allowed to pick up the trophy? Because he is club captain? It's a fine line for me.
