Anyway, you may believe you have an open mind, but just have a look back through your posts and see how closed your arguments were. It was only the last one you made that gave any consideration that you were willing to accept that a scientific pyshcological study had at least Somerset merits. As I have challenged you, the simplistic approach is not always the best and sometimes loses sight of the knock on effects. er look through my posts and you will see that I couldnt give any credit because he gave me no details whatsoever (and the study hasnt finished yet so it still proves nothing), for all we know he could of been talking of 10 people, and that is hardly going to give you an insight into the inner workings of moss side or the broadwater farm estate

Just seen it mentioned elsewhere. No Nick, Finnegan Foxy PV etc, I shouldn't know, because I'm not a member before you spout such tripe. Community service would be a great idea for these scum bags. Either that or national Service. Something I'd be a big supporter of.

I hope nothing comes off it. i'd imagine its fake... but, there was some serious talk the other day about Birmingham exploding straight into a race war between the blacks and asian's after some asian shops were vandalised. It was only a few years back when they were fighting against each other in some serious race riots

I don't know what your understanding of a scientific study is but ones that run for years generally have to be extremely relevant and worthwhile to gain a grant to keep it running for that long. I assume you're basing your knowledge of scientific studies on crap like Which biscuits last longest when dunked in tea! I believe you did mention that academia bears little relevance to "life" experience.

After keeping a close eye on this I have noticed some people trying to stir it up racially so quite possibably a load of rubbish. For example after last night a massive rumour went round saying the EDL and National Front were in Eltham waiting for the blacks. someones trying to stir racial tensions but I cant quite see who and why though

This has played out exactly as they would have wanted. Somebody has masterfully manipulated this situation and we are now a step closer to having even more rights taken from us. And the scum cops who shot a man dead will probably get away with it yet again. I love the fact that communities have come out to defend their areas, but hate the fact that police will now probably get more powers to harass and bully.

Surely all police will now be given more powers in how they treat criminals/looters/gangs etc. I read a great book once about how the Para's used to put molten lead in the bottom of their wooden truncheons to give them a bit of bite when swinging them at rioters in N.I. The police need to go in heavy handed. Once again this country is being shown up as a soft touch for all and sundry to basically do what they want. In a leftfield way I'm glad something of this proportion has happened, to highlight the need for stronger policing on our streets. Its nothing but bored gangs who for years have been hanging around on street corners dying for a bit of action such as this. I couldn't give a fuk if they're bored, have no father figure, have no job etc. We're always told that the solution is to get down to the problem at grassroot level, and give the kids something to do to keep them off the streets. All that is bollox. Give them a few years in the army and they will learn the one thing in life that enables you to rise above all this. Discipline.

To allow society to crumble slightly so the good, hard working citizens are forced in to a state of fear and panic, and are willing to hand over more of their own freedom. When scared people will give up anything to feel safe Damn right it was deliberate yo! Usually, in a riot situation, British cops go in hard with batons and shiz (which is fair enough). But on this occasion I've seen many videos where police are standing by watching children and adults burn and loot. They were obviously ordered not to act. The end result will be normal people losing more of their rights and more of their money to pay for all of this. As usual, the elite are not affected negatively at all. This whole situation only benefits them.

You mean I put faith in academic studies over 'some bloke' who knows people!! YES!! Why are you any different to anyone else who knows people!? Can you not see the major flaws in your simple approach to problems. You answered that they rioted because of adrenaline! Then why wasn't every thrill seeking, bungy jumping, rollercoaster riding citizen out on the street smashing windows! Anti-social behaviour stems from something alot more complicated and unless you've know your friends from about 6 months old, I can't imagine you know them well enough to understand why they may show anti-social tendencies!! Knowing people isn't a sufficient enough process to finding solutions!
