Jaspa Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Well then, After a night to sleep off the anger, and heartbreak of yesterday how do you think this will effect our players? Will it galvanise the ranks, and start to give our team a real feeling of togetherness? Or has it caused so much anger it could cause discord in our group of newly formed players? And of course, general feelings of how the game actually went; Was it a mistake to stick Gally on? Should we have gone for the kill infront of our fans? Think of it as therapy
Matt Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 I don't know, I just fear and think it breeds more pressure, forcing more silly mistakes from individuals. Hopefully i'm wrong and it does galvanize our team but performance's against Reading and Bristol built alot of added pressure on the team and just feel going from such a comfortable position of 2-0 up to draw 2-2 just creates alot more on Sven and the players.
Jon the Hat Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Us against the World!!! This is brilliant timing and the players have a point to prove. Bring it on.

Think of it as therapy Lots of positives: Nugent looks sharp and lively The 442 looked to give us more chances Fernandes looks a very good signing Kasper may well realise he needs to tame his passion Some negatives: Refereeing is getting worse... Gallagher is too lightweight Having controlled the game first half we looked disjointed in the second I think it looks more promising after that performance. Having watched the highlights on the FLS I was happy to see danns keeping on tearing down the wings first half It'll come.... The saints will go 'marching in' with nothing next Saturday
Jonezy Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Sven needs to go all Mourinho and blame everything and especially refs for our poor results. Get the attention away from the players. Make an example of the onesided refereeing yesterday and talk about how technology should get introduced to help the refs. Just get the focus away from Schmeichel's stupidity, Weale's flappin, Mills insecure start in our defense and Konchesky not looking like the premiership player, we thought he was.
pSinatra Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 If I can take a lot of positives from the game, I don't see why the players can't? 99 times out of a 100 we would have come away with a comfortable 3 points. Forest were shite & we were all over them. It was down to a questionable ref taking pity on them that we didn't win......deservedly so. Claridge said that Forest would be happier of the 2 teams, but I don't see it that way at all. I would be seriously concerned if I was a Forest fan right now........they looked clueless. If they are happy with the result, they are deluded. Leicester played fantastically well........ although Konchesky was not the player he can be & Weale was Weale. Because of the loss of Nugent, Gallagher found himself in a role he simply cannot play. We were always going to come under considerable pressure in the second half & it seemed we were coping comfortably, but for the referee's intervention. There were some fine performances from the majority of team & given everything that Mills has been through in recent weeks, I thought he had a solid game & should not blame himself for what was a ridiculous decision. It will take time for the team to find their feet........but we're getting there & it's looking promising!!!
Fox92 Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 I think a point away at Nottingham Forest is good, you know. I would have taken a point, but after being 0-2 up it is abit hard to take in. Forest have good players though (even though McGugan looked out of position) and at least we didn't loose! We were in control most of the match though. Danns and Mills both looked better, Nugent and Fernandes in particular look like excellent signings and I am pleased we did create many chances which I was pleased about. I do stand by what I have said for the past few months: Gallagher isn't good enough. Once a spark was lit, you knew Forest would score and make it 2-2.
Phube Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 I'm still bloody fuming!!! Especially after "The Football League Show". Bloody commentator - "Schmeichel boots it into the crowd!!" "Errr thumps it!" ... "Throws it over arm!" Could be a penalty... no F**K off!!! The phrase is delibrate handball!! Arrrrrgghhhhhh.....
Callabinho Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 They will know that we played brilliantly first half, this is a different kind of disappointment, not the were not good enough type, the we were robbed type. I expect a real backlash next game!
dpjfox Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 2 tricky away derbies - 4pts thats fine imo there was a team pattern improvement yesterday and thats what were loking for
broughtonblue Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 With us 2-0 up and them being frightened of nugents pace and harassing of their defenders, when he got injured would it have been better to keep it like for like and bring schlup on instead of gally? Just a thought
Mr Miaghi Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 2 tricky away derbies - 4pts thats fine imo there was a team pattern improvement yesterday and thats what were loking for I agree, was annoying to lose a 2 goal lead, but 4pts away from home is not too shabby. Time to turn the Walkers....I mean King Power in to a fortress. KEEP THE FAITH!!!!
Corky Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 The performance was much better than the home games, they've shown they can play as a unit, we need to do it at home now.
Bagworthblue Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 With us 2-0 up and them being frightened of nugents pace and harassing of their defenders, when he got injured would it have been better to keep it like for like and bring schlup on instead of gally? Just a thought Absolutely - I was screaming at the radio for Schlooooooooooop rather than Gally - our pace was winning the day!
Legend_in_blue Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 This will fire us up imo. It's us against the world of football it seems. Everyone wants us to fail. Referees, opposing teams, the media, they all want us to fail. More so than ever when they harp on about the money being spent. We need to ignore the crap and get on with it. We've got a decent set of players and it won't take too much longer for us to start hammering opposing teams. The standard of this league isn't great - Southampton and Derby's starts and the inconsistencies of others are evidence of that. We need to get the team ethic going and once that kicks in, the quality of the players will show through.

Guest Col city fan Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 0pts at home if very shabby though. Let's have it right... We drew away yesterday at the trees and nearly won... How would you like to be an Ipswich fan at the moment? and they too were considered to be one of the pre season faves having made 7 new signings themselves..
chesterfox Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 GOOD to give it 24 hours.....the desire to beat those tw*ts, the desire to see our season underway and to actually feel as if our favourites tag is not a pipedream and to believe that Sven's tactics can actually work all winds you up after such a display - no excuses from Kaspar that's not passion mate it is a lack of being professional and you let the team down, Sven's international experience didnt help his selction of tactics imo. But heylet's stay cool about this, the football is starting to come and when that clicks we will be up there..just needs to start sooner rather than later. It really is true though isn't Nottingham is full of morons
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 I'm still bloody fuming!!! Made me mad too. I don't know how Manish can put up with it. Awful commentary on the Schmichael "kicking the ball into the crowd." Didn't kick and wasn't into the crowd. Worse - on the replay he realised he'd made a mistake, stammered, but didn't bother to correct himself. Arsewipe! I was really hoping that they might point out that a Forest player actually DID kick the ball into the crowd following City's first goal with no action being taken. But no, that would have been good journalism. However, back to thread theme - I imaginge this should galvanise the team even more. I don't blame Gally or Sven - hindsight is brilliant.

It really is true though isn't Nottingham is full of morons I agree. Over the last three league games, we've come such a long way. From a dismal display at home against Reading, through a slight improvement vs. Brizzle, to a very impressive show in the first half yesterday at the shitty ground, I can see that it really does look like it's starting to come together. If we can carry on improving at this rate, we'll find ourselves in great form sooner or later. If we can get to that point and string a few wins together, we will shoot up the table in no time. I think Sven's learning quite quickly which players and formation are best, and the new players look to be settling in. I always thought we'd have a slow start, and hopefully the pressure is easing off and the team's undoubted quality can start to shine through more and more soon. I love your avatar, by the way. Did you make it yourself?

Just a thought agree - hindsight is a great thing but Gally was so lightweight and inefectual yeasterday. Once Nooge went off it changed things - hope his injury doesnt mean his is out for saturday. I'm loving the Noooge! If a big man next to him he could be our 20 goal a season man
