Fair play to you for posting. Some of our fans are so arrogant its embarassing. You only have to read some posts bigging up our chances this season, the 'quality' of our away support (though its usually quite good), predictions on forthcoming matches etc.

There are some level headed fans on here. They tend to be the older ones who truly knowing our club know we either a) do things the hard way or b) not do them at all. They will read this and agree somewhat with what you're saying.

Though you must remember the two times we played at oakwell towards the end of the two seasons our support of 6k plus was very vocal.

Sorry. I didn't realise the grammar police stalked football message boards. I find it much easier, and far speedier to type in this way. I am using a mobile telephone device. Therefore, the TAB button isn't available. It isn't a QWERTY style interface either. Its a bog standard mobile phone, that im having to use today as im away for the week. Im currently on a 4 hour car journey, as a passenger, and therefore came to give you my thoughts on the game. It did become long-winded, and reading it back to myself, I took a while to make my point about your appalling remarks.

To the punctuation expert, I am unable to start a new paragraph with a space. The phone does not allow it.

Why im even explaining myself I dunno. Neither do I know why its such a big deal.

I peruse MANY club boards, and have MANY friends that ive met over the years through matches, and online. In fact, a good friend of mine, Matt from your neck of the woods came straight out of the away end and joined me and my pals for a drink in town. I meet up with him and his mates in Leicester too. I met him and his missus the day we were relegated at Filbert Street from the Premier League. Definitely one of my better away experiences, despite the sadness that day.

But after saturdays game, Matt told me how in fact a lot of his fellow fans have become arseholes quite frankly. He himself admitted the terrible away backing was a symptom of the money and expectation it has brung. He now feels the arrogance (undeserved) that I speak of, is shocking to see, after continually mocking the likes of Forest for doing similar without reason for years.

But, I do agree that if the money had come to us, I would have to get used to it, whether I liked it or not. So I do get that. But the sheer arrogance JUST BECAUSE of having money, well thats pathetic. Fcuking achieve something first. We got to an FA Cup semi 3 years ago, on a shoestring, beating Liverpool and Chelski on route. But it means nowt.

It's about 90 minutes, XI v XI. Just because we are unfashionable, and working to the rules, while you are doing the opposite, does not mean that (A) we are FCUKING SHITE, nor (B) that YOU should be easily beating us.

Take a look at your posts pre-match (not all of you). Arrogant, disrespectful, Sheffield style bullshine.

Also, some of the most fickle, un-supportive fans I have seen. I especially enjoyed the mass backtracking, and subsequent lauding of King in your match thread as soon as he levelled it. He scored a 3 yarder ffs! But some of you were amazing.

"He's turned the game straight-away"

"Made a massive difference already, get in there"

Great..

He was practically on the line. It was Jermaine that made the impact.

But hey ho. Im going to leave now with my flat cap and whippet.

Great stereotyping by 1 of your clan there, I must say.

Id come out with some witty stereotypical remark about Leicester, but I dont know anything about Leicester.. not that it stopped you.

Your tin-pot shed of a ground is too big for you. Go home.

Disagree entirely about the 'us not sticking to the rules' how does anyone know if that's the case?

Good to see you aren't bitter. lol

We have some stupid fans like everyone else, and some who would rather not have the money. In the main we have a lot who are a little nervous or a little enthusiastic about the possibilities.

Some of us, me included are hoping it is going to click, that Beckford will bang them in, someone will get well beaten and then we will roll on from there. We have seen some good play at times, and if we can put it together for 90 mins then it will happen. I guess given we have been shopping in Waitrose we expect a decent quality. No harm in that.

i get a little bit annoyed when people refer to the king power lot as "dodgy foreign owners"

until they prove otherwise i have been pretty impressed by the support they have given us and the fact that they clearly give a shit about the club beyond it being simply a financial operation. There are plenty of dodgy white british owners of football clubs, yet people seem happy enough to assume that simply because someone is from another country they are instantly a suspected crook.

as for the arrogance of leicester fans. i think some people on here get a little bit over-excited. when you grow up, like i have with a team who seemed to play more often in the top flight than out of it, won two league cups and made it into europe twice before having it all slip away due to some poor board decisions and bad management after o'neil left, you feel like your club deserve to be in a better place than we have been over recent years. in the last couple of seasons since we were promoted from league one, i can honestly say i feel like we narrowly missed out on a number of occasions, on getting promoted. even if they were long shots, we were in the mix at some point and we have built a decent team. add this to the investment we have had from Vichai and Top, and we have every right to be hopeful that we can get out of this league. I'm well aware that we will be tested by teams like barnsley, who will want to play their best against us. It is by no means as simple as bagging a few decent names in the transfer window and getting instant promotion, but the fact is we felt like we could get close even before we started making improvements and building the squad to the size it is now.

I dont feel like we should assume we should walk the league or get instant success, neither do i think we are on the road to disaster if a couple of results don't go our way. the season is still young. I feel like we have a good team who deserve to be up in the top four come the end of the season.

if you go on as many forums as you claim, then surely you must know that the internet is full of retards. like i said before, there are a lot on here who like to get carried away either positively or negatively as these are quite unusual times at the club.

Pal, have you seen your recent record against us? And the fact we have spent money playing against a side who done very little in the past few years? We expect to win. Sorry if that upsets you.

We didn't, you played well and were given plaudits accordingly.

We've had a reality check thanks.

on paper, YOU probably thought u had the better players, the better team, better manager, and so of course should win comfortably. just as 99% of u were predicting pre-match on ere.. it made me laugh seeing that.

4-0, 5-0, 3-0. they were the common scores u predicted. which showed an ignorance and arrogance that id have expected from maybe Manure, Chelski or Citeh. not bleedin Leicester!?

okay guys, u have been cherry-picked by a dodgy Thai or whatever. spent absolute silly money on Championship standard players, and have an ex-England boss in charge. but looking at our form, and ur form, and historically, when have u been and crushed us easily at Oakwell??

so i expected a 0-0 at best, but more likely a 1 or 2-0 Leicester win..

and so thats why i didnt understand why u say WE WERE AWFUL?

u should beating SHITE TEAMS LIKE BARNSLEY?!

u are nay bigger than us, just richer.

I chose these as i thought these statements were the most ridicilous from your post.

Firstly, i agree we played poorly on saturday and were lucky to have a draw, im still putting it down to needing the team to gel.

Some things that you have said are just stupid.

we DO have better players than you, we have several international players in our first team, half the 1st team have played in the premership before. We have not spent badly on championship standard players, we only overspent on 1 player which was mills, everyone else was a decent price, i mean 2.5M for beckford is a steal. Whereas you have players with little premership experience and as individuals are hardly a force.

The owners we have i couldnt have asked for better ones, they have put their money where their mouth is and they are hardly dodgy

We are not ignorant and arrogant however we should have beaten you. Firstly due to your position in the table this season and the last one. The quality of players in our team should have easily dispatched you but in real time we just didnt click today

And you are deluded if you dont think we're bigger than you:

Firstly: History

LEICESTER CITY: Seasons spent at Level 1 of the football league system: 46

Seasons spent at Level 2 of the football league system: 59

Seasons spent at Level 3 of the football league system: 1

Seasons spent at Level 4 of the football league system: 0

Barnsley FC: Seasons spent at Level 1 of the football league system: 1

Seasons spent at Level 2 of the football league system: 70

Seasons spent at Level 3 of the football league system: 20

Seasons spent at Level 4 of the football league system: 10

Second: Attendance last year on average (before your price bumper)

Leicester city: 23,919

Barnsley: 11855

third: odds to gain promotion and relegation currently:

Leicester: Prom: 2/1, Relegation: 66/1

Barsnley prom: 50/1 - 40/1 depending where you look, Relegation: 5/2

Its hardly that we're deluded, everyone thinks we will do better and are better than you

So yes, we should be beating shit teams like barnsley.

Whilst you're in the stats mode, ISWT, do you know the longest we've spent outside of the top league :dunno: I think we are currently into year 7 (2004 being our last in the PL). Must the longest time in my lifetime.

Do you really expect to come onto an opposition message board and see their fans posting compliments after compliments about your team? That's never going to happen, especially considering some of our fans expect us to win every game. Fair play to you for being the better side but that's football, some could argue Wales deserved at least a point last week but they didn't so who cares?

And secondly I could quiet easily have post the exact rant, obviously better written, after countless numbers of games when we were a Premier League side and finished above a fair few sides who heavily out spent us. But I didn't because it is pointless.

Posted

Fair play to you I say, and I hate to say it but your prob right. Money has bought us massive expectations and of course we should be beating most teams after spending the money we have. Come the end of the season and fingers crossed we should be up there. Our problem is Sven and his inability to see we need to play 442 and we need a big guy up top to hold the ball up. Any way that's my opinion and a totally different matter. I can't wait for Barnsley at home and I'm predicting a 5-0 thrashing!lol good luck for the rest of the season

First 16 years of our history we didn't hit league 1. Longest once we've been relegated was 10 years

Current skysport odds for promotion.

Leicester 7/4 :scarf:

Barnsley 66/1 :dunno:

Expectaions in a simple short read format. Yes it's taking a bit of time to get this team up to its full potential but I'm betting Barnsley has reached it's full potential already.

Dear Whitey,

Do you prattle on like that when you meet up with your mate Matt?

Does Matt sit there and listen?

'Matt' is an inflatable doll with a Leicester scarf on, isn't 'he' ?

hello.

i read thru ur threads about the weekend, and i have to say i was appalled tbh. so i felt i had to register, and give u my thoughts.

the thoughts of a Barnsley fan.

but before i do, id like to just say thanx to a handful of u, that said it as it is, and actually spoke with objectivity and honesty.

but yeh, im ere, and replying really, to the vast majority of u, who have really gone down in my estimation with some of the comments made regarding the game, and more annoyingly my club, and our performance.. so bear with me, or choose to stay blinkered with ur media-made opinions of us..

. . .

first off, i agree that the prices, and the whole category business, is a fcukin disgrace at BFC. we also have to pay them. 16 CAT A fixtures!? including Bristol, Ipswich, Blackpool and blummin MILLWALL, again!? its ludicrous, and the loss of 2500 home fans tells its own story.

im a ST holder, so im paying around £13.50 a game. which is great value tbh. but not everyone can find £330 for a ST. and many ppl cant get to every game. the excuses from the club dont wash either. however, it is clubs such as West Ham, Derby, Ipswich and Leicester, that are making it such a distorted league financially, that we are left with little choice if we want to compete.

next weekend we host Watford. its CAT C, and just £16! but its only 1 of 2 CAT C games. so thats my view on that.

. . .

now, my club.

Robins wasnt up to the task of working on a reduced budget and walked/got pushed. our Barnsley born owner is refusing to bankroll us anymore. we are now spending only what we make. which complies with the new rules coming, and is how EVERY club should work. i applaud it. however, it means cheap recruitment, and obscene prices!? but with good management, and good recruits, it can be done.

our new management, Hillcroft (Keith Hill, Dave Flitcroft), have been a breath of fresh air, and the new and old players are a TEAM. they may not be NAME players, but as we showed saturday, they can PLAY. in the right way too..

we started with a great 0-0 at Forest. we could have won.

we then got beat 1-0 at home by Soton, who dominated us but the goal was an error from our reserve GK. we had a goal ruled not over the line from Vaz Te. could have got an undeserved point.

3 days later, and despite an early lead, we were outplayed by an awesome Boro side at Oakwell, and lost 3-1. we had players out, but we were dominated.

next up, and down to just 14 fit players, we beat Reading away 2-1 with a great countering display. Steele saved 2 pens in 2 mins, and the 2nd and 3rd shouldnt have been given. just as against u, we played the ref, as usual..

we deserved the win nonetheless. our first EVER at the Mad Stad!

we then went to the Den, and came away with another great point, 0-0. unbeaten away, and just the dodgy Reading pen conceded. a game of few chances, that neither side took..

. . .

[to be continued in another post below]

plz stick with it, id love to hear what u think...

I can see someone failed their English class
