Benjaldinho Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 His Name is Paul Gallagher and he is a winger!!
Itsthejoeker Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Hasn't he been injured for a while? What's it got to do with Sven?
Jaspa Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Sigh We still love ya Sven ! Raising our profile & bringing in some quality Keep it up Galleh
mrmagoomc4 Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 yeah width is the key sven played to narrow
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Gally scored some pearlers under Sven as well, don't forget that. Bentleys roof will be hating this performance from wee Paul.
MrBojangles Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 His Name is Paul Gallagher and he is a winger!! Reactionary and predictable. My two favourite things about this forum.
DB11 Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Sven was quite Gally + wasn't he? He compared him to Beckham in terms of technical ability! So yeah, I'd say he was a fan
sphericalfox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Sven was quite Gally + wasn't he? That won't stop people using everything they can, even if it's not true, to have pot shots at Sven. It was always going to be a positive turnout for the team. All eager to impress and earn/keep places. It one game and I hope we can gain a run from it, but let's all keep our feet on the ground.
Kitchandro Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 No he's not. This. Great goals but what wing play did he actually do? I think his best position is either just behind the strikers, or on the left hand side of a front 3 (like last season). The only winger we have is Dyer. We still need one in January. I would say though that Gally showed why he is a useful player, nobody else in the team even dares to shoot most of the time.
Swalker Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 This. Useful? He's a key player for us. Dyer is a useful player
Fox92 Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 I Ok, he scored two great goals but what more did he do? What wing play did he do? I still think we need two quality wingers in January to replace Gallagher and Dyer. I have always said Gallagher's best position is probably behind the front two, but then you will be looking at dropping King, which is fine by me. I don't think Gallagher is key, or quality, though. Lets try again, Dear Sven; 4-4-2!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Gallys goals today were truly sensational... The second one was one of the most clean strikes of a ball I think I've ever seen. The problem with Gally for me is this.. Do you play him because he is capable of stuff like that and accept that he can't beat a full back and is weak in the tackle? Until his goals today I thought he was his usual very average self. It's a bit of a quandary for me... Gally can produce fantastic play for ten minutes and then be crappy for 80 I think Pearson likes him, as did Sven (so don't understand the OP in this thread)... But I find him a very frustrating player
Clazie Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 To be honest I thought he was decent at best today, just happened to score two absolute pearlers.
Webbo Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 He forced a good save from their keeper before he scored as well.
rico Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Useful? He's a key player for us. Dyer is a useful useless player
Babylon Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 He and Wellens had some great midfield play between them. Oh how I've missed players in position and actually having a plan x
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 He and Wellens had some great midfield play between them. Oh how I've missed players in position and actually having a plan x I agree! But who is the little kiss for Babs? Pearson?
Corky Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Gallagher's not a winger and was injured early in the season, which meant Sven couldn't pick him.
Thracian Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 This. No doubt about that. He doesn't have the pace to be a proper winger but he was the only option we had and Pearson recognised the problem by asking Peltier to drive forward and get beyond their defence. Gallagher's goals came from old-fashioned inside-forward positions. Gallagher's like Beckford in some ways. He can be brilliant. But what he offers varies immensely and when he's having a bad un you really do want to cover your eyes. Today was special though and the question is, how many times can Pearson get the best Gallagher or the best Beckford to turn out?
flowwolf Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Sven couldn't pick his own arse yet alone a team.
