Because usually when a manager denies something it usually happens take for e.g Pearson when asked about returning to us, he denied it a couple days later he joins.

Alright, he's got 2 goals in 14 games but he needs more time on the pitch! I went Doncaster and we started Howard? Beckford looked fresh when he came on. I love big Steve but he's too old to be starting games now, ESPECIALLY ahead of Beckford. I personally feel sorry for JB. Given more starts and people laying off him for a bit, he'll come good! Also he doesn't fit our style of play. He had two wingers supporting him at Leeds. Transfers are a different Forum but we do need a winger. No disrespect to Gallagher, but IMHO he's too lazy, not fast enough, he is quite 'girly' sometimes in the respect that he backs away from challenges and headers. But please, give Beckford a chance? He's not the only player in our team. It's just because he's the striker..

You're only focusing on the negatives. Apart from not winning a few headers, he threaded balls through to people, made some good runs that again Wellens, King, and about every other midfielder on our side failed to pick out, and he made space for others. Considering for part of the game he was pushed out to the left he wasn't all bad.

He is the most disappointing striker we've had since DJ - failing under both Sven and Pearson. Even allowing for his treatment by the clique, it is clear he doesn't want to play for us and the sooner we cut our losses the better.

Well he doesn't - he challenged for headers on several occasions yesterday, he tracks back and, even if he doesn't put a foot in, he pressurises the attacker and allows someone else an easier challenge for the ball. If you are going to say he's quite girly on the basis that he doesn't make that many tackles then every single fvcking player on the pitch is "girly". Oh and Gallagher isn't a winger - he's being forced to play out there because people insist upon width, but he's a #10, in the hole between midfield and striker - He's admitted this, near enough everyone has spotted this and yet managers continue to play him in systems that don't suit him. As for Beckford - What utter crap - he's had plenty of game time and, until Pearson arrived, didn't look at all interested - after those first couple of games he'd secured his place in the team and again has gotten quite peripheral. People say he's making the runs and maybe so but he's not actually pulling into space to receive the ball in the first place. His first touch is crap - the amount of times he got lucky with fouls/defenders slicing clearances yesterday.

Also did u hear the round of applause beckford got yesterday when he came off that's because we can see he makes the runs but he never gets fed from our shi*ty midfield!! So to say beckford was a bag of shite is a very untrue comment.

Unfortunately after dribbling infield he completely sliced his shot and fell over. I was quite pleased with Beckfords performance though. He did put effort in and you can see he's just frustrated really. The other thing was how he spoke to people. I think its the first time he didn't look like a kid at a new school. If he was sold it would be mad in my opinion. It's the players around him that need sorting. The midfield is so shit it's unbelievable. Although Abe did well Wellens has pissed me right off. No forward drive, sits in with the ****ing defence on half way when we're attacking and tries to make everything run through him. He doesn't know how to attack anymore and certainly not with pace. Even when we had interceptions and a chance to break up field he had no pace in going forward. It's all so very slow and laboured. It's not surprising Beckford looks a bit shit. It's not surprising he looks like he doesn't want to play here either. It can't be any fun what do ever for him.

He's tall and quick but lacks confidence and/or hunger.IMO. Had Sven actually sent any of his staff to watch him before buying ? We can blame a lack of service but surely he needs to show a bit more when the ball is played to him.

I am backing him because I know he can play but he needs a massive kick up the arse and a serious reality check.

He made it easy for Sonko to win the ball time and again because he didn't challenge, whereas if he'd challenged he could've at least made it difficult for Sonko. But no. I've never seen a physically weaker 6ft 2 striker.
