Guest Col city fan Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Am I surprised? Yes. Do I care? No. I'll back Pearson all the way, he's not going to make a decision as drastic as this if he doesn't feel it's for the best. Besides, after the lacklustre displays and distinct lack of basic abilities that Beckford has shown I don't think he'll be a great loss. I think given a run in the team he'd score goals but not unless he changed his tune and started looking like he gave a bit more of a damn. At the minute he smacks of someone who thinks he's better than the league he's playing in. I've lost count of the number of times he's lost the ball by trying to take on two or three players when there's been a simple, better option on. I've tried to keep patience with him but he makes it very hard. I'm not going to lose sleep over anyone who could be stupid/arrogant enough to react as he did when the travelling support at Upton Park made it perfectly clear what they thought of his disgraceful performance, or a man who treated the Leeds home match as some kind of testimonial, basking in the praise of his former supporters when he'd done sweet F.A. for his current ones. You have been watching the same games as me FW... Completely agree
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Opinions of different fans Difference of opinion of fans Difference the fans have in their opinions Beckford has been a major disapointment in my opinion
iancognito Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 This is purely putting 2 and 2 together here..... A mate of mine with a ST at QPR has been saying since the transfer window how they just missed out on getting Beckford because of all the uncertainty at the club at the start of the season and that he'd still be top of Warnock's list in January. Then today... Jermaine Beckford papped at the Mayfair Hotel (hopefully just down there doing some shopping with the missus and not meeting anyone for a chat)

You got any more pics of his missus?
stillwater Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 check out the middle pic bottom row see his daughter takes after him!!!
StanSP Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 If Beckford can score at least 10 goals from now until the end of the season and get us promoted, then we will be raving about him instead of criticising him! Well, Yakubu scored more than 10 within a half a season and still that wasn't enough for some people. Doubt people would rave about Beckford. Mind you, some of our fans are quite fickle so I don't know what to expect really.
ajthefox Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 rich footballer goes to London to expensive hotel with his girlfriend and his child days before christmas. SOMEONE ALERT SKY, HE'S DEFINITELY ON HIS WAY OUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Captain... Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 We shouldn't sell him for the sake of it unless he is becoming a negative impact on the dressing room, but if we can recoup what we paid for him, then I say we should, he is not performing at the moment and there is no guarantee he will. If QPR offer us 4 million for him we should accept it, that will free up funds and wage bill forNP to get in someone he wants and who will suit how he wants us to play.

foxes2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 he only scored all them goals for leeds in league one, we shouldnt have bought him in the first place especially for that price, if we sell him now we might be able to recoup some cash though and reinvest tbh i dont think he suits our style of play, we like to have a big target man and a goalscorer, he not better than nugent and howard is our only target man.
lrs80 Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 give beckford a chance ffs as much as im dissapointed and really had high hopes this season getting rid of beckford is not the answer its not rocket science we need wingers and a creative midfielder he simply not getting good enough service, even though my patience is growing thin im convinced he will come good eventually!
MikeyT Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 get fryatt and waghorn back - good old days Your avatar is ironically the face I am currently pulling at your suggestion.
martyn Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Beckford and £3m for Jelavic? Wouldn't be averse to this at all, although Beckfords wages would surely be a stumbling block.

Mind you, some of our fans are quite fickle so I don't know what to expect really. the reason not many people liked yakubu was because he was a lazy bastard. but somehow he still scored goals.
Jace Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 If Warnock and QPR are after Beckford then this should be opening peoples eyes to the potential that lies inside him
bluearmyfox23 Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 "Happyfox" do u really think beckfords worth 4.5m especially since rangers want 7.5m at least just for jelavic
Happy Fox Posted 23 December 2011 Author Posted 23 December 2011 "Happyfox" do u really think beckfords worth 4.5m especially since rangers want 7.5m at least just for jelavic Of course not but you have to keep Rangers sweet so dangling 3m with Beckford will get us Jelavic as they are desperate for strikers.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 I honestly reckon they would want beckford plus 4-5m ?
Jace Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 I think it would take £6 million and Beckford for Rangers to accept but I think what Happy Fox has suggested would be a good start to negotiations you don't want to devalue Beckford
