Can anyone tell me why we continually try to play down wings and cross the ball when we have no good wingers and strikers that can't head?

exactly what i said during the match, why don't we try down the middle and create a goal that way instead of crossing the ball with no strikers who can head it

Abe had a fantastic game, should start against Pompey.

I didn't even notice King or Dyer were playing, much like I didn't notice the Ipswich fans were there.

Beckford is ****ing shite.

Best players = Kasper (as usual), Konchesky and Abe.

Wellens and Bamba at fault for the goal we conceded. Wellens wimped out of his header and Bamba had a chance to clear it but didn't!

We showed what we are today, and that's very average and middle of the road, hence our league position. The manager has now started talking about "tweaking" the squad a little in the next few weeks and for me it can't come quick enough! The extent of this tweeking is still to be seen. I think there will be many more moving out than coming in to be honest. But we can't carry on performing like this and expecting to get anywhere.

I think the most noticable part of the squad at the moment is that there is a lack of confidence, which doesn't help at all. But they can't hide behind that totally. There is also a lack of ability and I think some of the players need to take a reality check. I am now looking for a squad that can be allowed to develop and get better step by step, rather than this enormous leap the owners want us to take to get premiership instantly! The sooner the players start to believe in this idea and stop quoting shite in the Mercury day in day out such as Mr Mills' "someone is going to get a backlash" crap the better. Mr Pearson, please gag the players for now!!

Oh here we go again...

Its OUR fault, the fans, once again. I mean, we pay hundreds/thousands of pounds to watch these players on five to twenty five grand a week play badly. However, we are not allowed to moan, it makes us *****.

I apologise, well played lads, especially Beckford. Roll on Pompey, put in a bit of effort, if you lose, ah well, you still turned up.

KASPER's fault for the goal.

Not Bamba and Mills who just decided to stand, look at each other leaving the ball to bounce and let the Ipswich player take it? :dunno:

Agreed. Unless you hear a clear, definitive shout from your keeper (and I doubt Kasper did) the defence should get it out... and even sometimes you don't take the chance even with a shout! First 5 minutes were shambolic.

I don't think we played too badly today, and I don't think we are the "laughing stock of the league!" but there was a consistent gripe all through the game, Ipswich had so many unchallenged headers it was untrue, even if you have no chance of winning the ball jump for it, jump against the man don't let them have a free header, too many times we just didn't attack the ball in our box or theirs.

The goal came from Wellens, then Bamba, then Abe not attacking the ball, all through the game players not attacking the ball, Pearson should have been doing his nut about it.

Another thing that pisses me off is our inability to do anything from kick off everytime we just lump the ball to our wingers, Gally and Dyer, 2 of the worst players in the division in the air. Ipswich took the centre and ran at us, caught us cold, won a penalty and kept the pressure on and eventually scored without us getting out of out half.

Finally Pearson's subs again were too late, why do we make subs when they have no time to impact the game.

If Kasper hadn't have called for the ball and then come half off his line, then just stop, maybe you could say it was Bamba/Mills/Wellens/Yuki's fault.

End of the day were an average team we've wasted loads of money and the team's know better than what came out of league one! We now have better players but that cant work as a team. Wellens and Howard should never play us again! What other team has a 35year old has been upfront that is serous about getting promotion! The club is a joke.

Didn't hear Kasper's shout, but that forgives Bamba and Abe they both were holding off their man waiting for someone to claim the ball, I am guessing they heard Kasper's shout, but it doesn't forgive Wellens just not reacting and not challenging for the ball on the edge of the area, I think Konchesky was also at fault for giving the ball away, let's just call it a comedy of errors in the first 5 minutes.

Also, I assume we all think it's a coincidence that there was NO midfield throughout the first half, the first 45 minutes without "invisible andy"? It was pure coincidence nobody tracked midfield runners? Nobody moved the ball quickly without any fuss or error? Nobody won a single header in the middle of the park?

It must've been coincidence because King does fcuk all when he's there, we can't have been missing him because he's never normally there anyway hahahaaaashahahahahahahahahaha. Pearson finally changed the midfield! But he took the wrong man out, and put the wrong man in! Wellens out, Fernandes in.

Fcuk off Wellens.

Yuki Abe was our best player so how can you say he was the wrong man in? Abe would of given King the freedom to get forward more

Posted

Well, not the wrong man, meant more that both should have been in rather than continuing with Wellens.

This is total bollox, I don't give a flying **** about who was or who was not to blame, bottom line is I pay my money week/month/season, year in year out and expect some sort of return, well here's a reality check Leicester City, despite all the money your spending...IT AIN'T SODDING WORKING!!! get it sorted for ****'s sake! :banghead:

By the way, anyone blaming Beckford is a cvnt. What the fvck is he meant to do when his only service is Kasper's goal kicks?! I'd be well off if I was him. Too good for us and everyone thinks he's a twat because he doesn't run round cluelessly.

WRONG

Players coming out in the press and talking about atmosphere is starting to wind me up.

Saying things like 'it's difficult to play when there's a negative atmosphere'.

How about you create a positive atmosphere, do you seriously expect a standing ovation when you get 2 points from 12? And play some of the most boring football I've ever seen.

My god.

What did King do when he came on?

How retarded must you be that you are blaming this all on one player? And it's not even the worst player on the pitch. You seem to think our worst player is good!

Evening all, got home an hour or two ago, a bit of supper and a read through a couple of threads.

What I find quite astonishing is the the number of people pointing out our deficiencies as if they have only come to light in the last few games, whan in fact most of the problems have been apparant for months, years in some cases.

Take the situation with the wide men, we started the 2009/10 season with 4 wide players in our squad, in the two and a half seasons since then we have got rid of 3 of them, Adams, DNG and Gradel all shipped out ans not one replacement brought in..... :nono:

We started 2009/10 with King and Wellens as our preferred central midfield pairing, it didn't work then and, guess what, two years later it still doesn't..... :nono:

Whatever the deficiencies of Brown and Hobbs as players, they did have an understanding, of sorts. Since their departure we have had a succession of better players but at no point have we had a more effective pairing...... :nono:

There are more examples but these will do for now........
