FoxesFan100 Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 I've tried signing a few of them but they don't want to talk to my mighty AFC Wimbledon of League 2? . I don't think you can manage them as they have amateur contracts and are amateurs if I'm correct?
Cal Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Nah the Premiership, got offered the Chelsea job so took over there. Massive overhaul needed, they finished 7th last season.
Dan Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Started as Fleetwood on FM11 Summer '11 update. We're inconsistent, have a pretty decent budget but not one that'll make a significant difference, the midfield's crap, the forwards are quick and lack in service and the defence are great one game and shit the next. Sounds a bit familiar...
Stadt Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 I'm currently sitting top in the Championship and I'm in the January transfer window and looking to strengthen the squad with about 2m any suggestions?
Raw Dykes Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 I'm currently sitting top in the Championship and I'm in the January transfer window and looking to strengthen the squad with about 2m any suggestions? I'd just use my scouts if I was you. Make sure you're covering as large an area as you're allowed (make one keep searching UK & Ireland, one doing Central Europe, one Scandinavia, etc.), and make sure all your scouts are out searching all the time. See if you're allowed to sign any more scouts, and if you are, look for unattached (free) ones with the highest values for Judging Player Ability or Judging Player Potential. They are the only two values that really matter for scouts. If they're not valued at 20, keep them on the shortest possible contracts so you can replace them for free when their contract runs out. Regularly check the player search list (filtering out unrealistic targets). Get further scout reports on the best ones from scouts other than the ones who've already written reports on them. Organise your shortlist with the best players, or best potential, at the top and look at the cheapest ones, or organise the list with the cheapest at the top and look for the best free/cheap players. When you find a good transfer target, ask one of your best scouts for a report to be sure you want him before making a bid. I found mastering the transfer market to be the best way to stay ahead of the competition. When you want to sell, milk every penny you can out of the deal, and always look for bargains when you're buying. Make sure you know who you might be able to sign on a Bosman, and when you can offer them a pre-contract. You can improve the squad and make a good profit at the same time. You probably know all this already, but it might be of use to someone. I've banned myself from playing FM, so I'm going to write about it instead
bmt Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 On my huddersfield save first season, matt mills record for leicester in league games is: Played 5 (plus 3 as sub) Yellow Cards 10 Red Cards 4 Pretty hilarious.
Libertine Dream Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 My right back regen after playing 19 games has 13 yellows and 2 reds. My whole teams discipline is poor, is it because I set closing down to Press More?
Raw Dykes Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 My right back regen after playing 19 games has 13 yellows and 2 reds. My whole teams discipline is poor, is it because I set closing down to Press More? Are you using hard tackling all the time? I'd always start with normal tackling, then alter it depending on how strict the ref is. Have you tried changing the tackling to easy just for the worst disciplined players? Could be to do with how you discipline players, maybe? I used to make a note each time a player got sent off, and made sure I'd give them a warning 1st time, then fine them 1 weeks wages, then 2. It has to be consistent, though - I'd follow that rule for a red card, and for violent conduct separately, i.e. if you warn one player about a sending off, then you need to punish him for violent conduct for the next one, give him just a warning for that.
Tom17LCFC Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Couldn't really get into this years game until I finished uni for easter. Started as Fleetwood and got them into League 2 at the first attempt. Had a great start but then went on a horrid run of form which put me 11 points off the play-offs. Managed to turn it around and sneak into the play-offs where I beat Shrewsbury in the play-off final on penalties to send us into League 1. Vardy and Counago were amazing in both the BSP and L2. Managed to sign Robbie Fowler in L2 and he had something like 8 goals in 10 games!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 April 2012 Posted 2 April 2012 Doing a game with Wolves. Finished 8th in the first season with a reaslly good goal difference and missed out on Europe on the alst day of the season. Would have got in if i had come 7th as well, and didnt even get offered the Euro Vase route like i expected like on previous games. I made the final of the League Cup after a 6-0 aggregate win over Norwich in the semis, but lose 2-1 in the last minute in the final to Liverpool. Currently played 10 games and sit 6th. Have Branescu in goal, signed Bassong permanately, and also have Dos Santos from Spurs and Dos Santos from Barcelona on loan. Kebe i bought in the first season, is lightning on the wing with Doyle and Fletecher swapping for each game up front. Already out of the League cup as i went out on pens to Chelsea in the 3rd round. Hoping to get Uefa cup football for next season though.

If it weren't for unimpressive or downright poor showing when he's had the chance, Kasper would probably be on the bench. Bassong is a fantastic defender. Easily in the top 20 centerbacks if you ask me, so well done getting him that quickly. With such quality buys, it's a bit baffling you've plumped for Kebe though Why not get Sinclair if you want that type of player?
AyewJoking Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Is FM 12 worth buying or should I wait for 13? Been looking on ebay but its still generally selling for over £10 second hand!
shen Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Is FM 12 worth buying or should I wait for 13? Been looking on ebay but its still generally selling for over £10 second hand! You'll have to wait at least half a year before 13 comes out, so I'd say get 12.
Libertine Dream Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Is FM 12 worth buying or should I wait for 13? Been looking on ebay but its still generally selling for over £10 second hand! Its worth the 10-12 quid, otherwise you'll have to wait half a year. I don't think much will drastically chance for 2013 either.
HEGGSY Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Sports Interactive's hugely successful Football Manager series is getting an Android version for the first time. Football Manager Handheld 2012 came out for iOS last year, and is similar to the PSP version of the stat-crunching soccer simulation for PC and Mac. The portable versions aren't quite as in-depth as you'll get on your computer, and this isn't a game like the FIFA series where you play out each match yourself, but there's still a huge amount of micro-managing action to be found in the transfers, tactics, team selection, and more. The game will be out on April 11th in the Google Play Store at first, will run on devices with Android 2.2 or above, and will cost £6.99 — the same price it goes for on the iOS App Store, suggesting a $9.99 price point for the (unconfirmed) US release. OH YEAH!!!
JimmyK Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Is FM 12 worth buying or should I wait for 13? Been looking on ebay but its still generally selling for over £10 second hand! I'm pretty sure Steam is compulsory to run the game, so surely it won't work if you buy it second hand? Unless the previous owner never actually installed it for some reason.
