Could We Go Down this Season?

Oh lord. There really are some fickle, knee-jerk fans aren't there? Doncaster, Forest and Coventry 4/5 points a drift already. Don't be ****ing stupid. Where is the positive Leicester forum? So sick of all this doom and gloom! It's hardly like we are Plymouth Argyle or worse still Coventry staring relagation in the face. We'll be fine. Promise.

F**k knows what is going to happen, absolutely crucial January for us not results based but for getting a settled competent team in preparation for next year promotion tilt.

The simple truth is yes we can quite easily go down. last five games against so called lesser teams we have got a miserly three points out of fifteen, that is relegation form. The simple truth is we are going backwards not forward. under Sven we never had this bad a return in a five game spell. Someone please explain to me Pearsons tatics today? His substitutions were a complete mystery. He takes off our only goal scoring threat in Nugent and our only creative midfielder in Wellens who played ok today. Pompey line up 442 we line up 433 already outnumbered in midfield? Im afraid knee jerk reactions by certain fans got Sven the sack the same people who clambered for Pearson must now admit it was wrong? His tatics and negative style of play will get us relegated. I have never been so despondent and dissolusioned by my club ever but at this moment in time I cannot see where the next win is coming from.

Suprised by how many people refuse to entertain the idea that we could go down. Seems like you must be in denial. We've spent millions, but as we can see, that does not guarantee you success. Neither does it guarantee you will avoid failure.

We've just had a run of games that a promotion chasing team would expect to be picking up maximum points from.

We've barely scraped a single point. Not even relegation form, but rooted to the bottom of the table form, not against tough teams, not even against average teams, but during one of the easiest runs of fixtures possible in this league.

We've spent £15m and we're in an absolute mess, a complete shambles. And our proposed solution: spend more money. How can we be anything close to confident that the same method that has led us to being the worst side in the division on current form will suddenly begin to work?

We won't go down. Just remember who's 3rd bottom. We're better than them for christ sake.

We are a midtable team at the moment. No better, no worse.

Should we go down (and theoretically it is a possibility), it'd surely mean reaching a new all-time record low for most expensive squad ever assembled to be relegated to League One/Division Two.

Not even the unlucky Manchester City side of 1998 were that prestigious.

We're no worse than we were under Sven.

A record of win, draw, defeat so far sees us to mid-table. Unless that drastically changes to defeat after defeat then we'll be nowhere near the bottom.

Crystal Palace away. Monday 2nd January 1pm K.O

FT: Crystal Palace 0-2 Leicester City Wellens (2)

If Wellens scores twice then I'll spend all of 2012 bald. i.e. It's not gonna happen.

We COULD go down, just like we COULD still win both the League and the FA Cup, doesn't mean it'll happen though!

Well no, since we could still go down but we're out of the league cup.

I think everyone should take their rose tinted glasses off. Half way through the season and still no back to back wins. 3 points from 15 during december against poor to average teams at best. Squad morale at a seriously low ebb at the minute. I seriously hope it doesn't happen and i'm reasonably sure it won't but if we don't sort the poison out in january then we are in serious trouble. Remember our relegation year - how many back to back wins did we get then? I think people should be realistic and understand the teams issues are going to take a long time to sort out. I have no doubt nige is the man to do it and hope the owners stick by him when we miss out on promotion for another year!

It's not rose tinted glasses, it's a transitional period where we've had to wait for the transfer window to open before getting rid of some player's and bringing in hopefully decent one's.

Also changing the work ethic take's time, at least now we fight for the point, earlier in the season if we conceded a goal the head's would go down and that would be that.

Remind's me of that period where O'niell stacked up a load of draws whilst trying to change thing's around, think that was one win in eleven and even after that we struggled up until the sheffield debacle.

Peeps just have to be patient, at least today was a slight improvement on the previous two matches :xmaslaugh:

You can get odds of 47/1 for us to go down - only 11 off the drop and no win in 5, Cov winning 2 on the bounce and Forest likely to turn it around - £50 on this could get you a lovely holiday to soften the blow. I don't mean to be pessimistic but 3 points from 15 is relegation form.......

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

We'll flatter to deceive no doubts, but there's no way we've a chance of promotion this season.

Just enjoy the money you make on us being massive odds on faves at home and revel in a free Saturday night out the next few weeks!

By the way- My prediction is 10- 16th- For what it's worth! Happy New Year!

It surprises me we still have a chance of making the play-offs with the woeful results and performances we've put together for so much of this season and if there wasn't a transfer window i'd think we might well keep falling down the table.

But the Thais money and Pearson's dogged plodding should ensure we'll survive and finally put together a team that is at least all singing from the same hymn sheet.

December - for all the daft predictions about not losing a game - was always going to be difficult with so many players gathering around the exit gates for one reason or another.

Pearson's choices for change have been extremely limited both tactically and individually and I see no point in blaming him for the outcome so far. He would have to get it seriously wrong for our fortunes to worsen much further and I don't think that will happen.

I just don't believe it will be so easy to attract the best available players now we've drifted so far off the pace and only have a play-off place to realisitcally aim for. So, while top six would be an achievement from where we are i'm not convinced we'll get there or win those play-offs if we did.

Pearson just doesn't seem naturally committed to sustaned attack and we'll not do well enough just trying to pinch games. Next season might be an improvement but there's no guarantees. Who Dares Wins, in my view and we never seem daring enough.
