Happy Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Great, he seems to be a common demoninator of bad performances. I know that we can get carried away with such theories and attack a straw man but his attitude doesn't seem great Exactly the guy breeds a bad ego, no coincidence whatsoever that when he isn't in the team we get good results good riddance to Wellens.
Haydos Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Yes as Kennedy could play under Pearson whilst he wasnt at the club couldnt he?! Idiot. Least I know basic facts before posting. Sven signings have been on the whole, more bad than good. Wasted so much money on Mills, Beckford + Ssl, whilst Fernandes and
Johnson especially were poor signings, and dont even mention Michael Ball (how he thought ball was better than berner and kennedy i dont know. I don't advocate the money spent on Mills but there was hardly a soul complaining when he was singed. The same with Fernandes (after a few games there were plenty saying he was too good for us) and Johnson. The less said about ball the better tbh. Myself? I was happy with a lot more than I was unhappy with, I'd say most people were fairly pleased before a ball had been kicked. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though. Ian Walker was a good Taylor signing, that make him a good manager? Contradict your own point there. Yes it was only one game, but both Kennedy and Moore have given NP food for thought. What? Read what I wrote. I was taking the piss that you're judging a manager on the good performance of one player that he didn't play That wasn't MY point, my point was that a managers signing obviously doesn't define the manager's ability or even their signings as whole. Did you even go today or just listen or watch a stream No, I didn't, I never claimed to. What's that got to do with anything?
Guest Bilo Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Brilliant win at a place that has been very difficult to visit this season. The thing now is trying to recapture some of the consistency we've been missing out on for quite some time.
FoxTrott Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I disagree. Couple of times in the match where he really could have assisted if Dyer had made the correct run. Though Dyer looked v. average today. I think like Moyes had at Everton, he works v. well with a supporting striker working behimd. Wonder if Pearson will look to work the front around him, perhaps a winger working behind him. Or will he sell up and try and work a Nugent + ?? strikeforce. For me, it's him who's not on the same wavelength as everyone else. This is because he is thick. He doesn't have a football brain and almost always makes the wrong decisions in promising positions. He has some talent and similarly to Fryatt he can go on those goalscoring runs where he's unstoppable. But his decision making and selfishness will continue to hamper him. He does always look dangerous but looking dangerous and actually being dangerous are miles apart.
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Unbeaten in 3 I know it's sarcastic, but we were dire for much of those 270mins and yet we're unbeaten in them. The resolve is coming back to the team & few choice signings will hopefully make the win a bit more comfortable and turn the draws into wins
Kitchandro Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Why should he build anything around Beckford? Nugent has outperformed him. If he's not good enough he's not good enough, and he hasn't been, not by any stretch.
FoxTrott Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 In the past two games in which he has came on a substitute, I would argue he has been the most dangerous looking player. Just needs goal scoring confidence.
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Why should he build anything around Beckford? Nugent has outperformed him. If he's not good enough he's not good enough, and he hasn't been, not by any stretch. I'm not his fan But he came on against Pompey and ran & ran at them, every time something happened, he had two great shots (on target) one of them was a wondrous save and he won a cast iron penalty which should have won us 3pts had the linesman or ref had a pair of balls Today, I watched a poor stream & listened to R5's excellent commentary and he was very dangerous, Nuge wasn't in the game & Schlupp had ran himself into the ground, we had no outlets & were constantly under pressure (obviously Howard was supposed to hold the ball up allowing us to get out our half & it went spectacularly wrong) but everytime Beckford received the ball he ran at them & won throw-ins & corners relieving the pressure Yes, he needs to actually produce the goods, and quickly. But having not physically seen the team for a while until these 2 games I was expecting him to be a dis-interested horror show & he was far from it It's a completely different situation to DJCampbell I think, gone is the player shrugging his shoulders from earlier in the season, now he's receiving the ball deep & running at players and making stuff happen, once our side has a bit more form we'll be capitalising on it & so will he.
gw_leics772 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 How can anyone comment on the performance if they've not been? You snobby twat!!!!, Ive read without posting for quite a while, raved about your info, but you being so far up your own arse just because you know somebody, and now the fact that you get to all of the games (free tickets from your insider friend I guess) also makes you a better class of supporter. I dont know Bert, how can you comment if you havent been. Well Sky Sports manage to do it, Radio commentary and scorelines along with knowledge of players and trends from watching EVERY home game for the last 20 years I would imagine give people the right to comment, maybe there should be a separate post game thread, one for the almighty ones who went, , and one for those who didn't, we could even add a third private room for you and anybody you approve of. "I just share info with the fans, there is nothing in it for me," hang on, just got to go and check my twitter, BertLCFCInfoman has spoken again. Mind you at least the plebs cant answer you back on there quite so easily.
Charl91 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Also, the game before Hull, Beckford had a good game, and was only denied by good keeping. In the next game vs. Hull, he was taken off after 30 minutes when Mills got a red card, and since then, he has never started a game, and just got 20 minutes here or there. I'l be the first to admit he's had a very bad start. But for me, he's been looking fairly positive recently, and I think deserves another chance to start.
FrankieADZ Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 we win and still negative points flow to the top  enjoy the win today....think about the problems tomorrow
Happy Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Beckford will come good, certainly has a better attitude than a certain Steve Howard, come to think of it Beckford needs a target man so I wouldn't be surprised if NP brings one in.

He did give it a go against Pompey, but the penalty incident came about because he again made the wrong decision again. Instead of just getting through the gap and drilling it, or squaring it to the spare man, he checked back and had to try and beat 2 players again. It was a penalty but it was still poor play. I remember one of the shots which was good play but I can't think of the other one. He flatters do decieve, he looks up for it and dangerous at times, at others he just can't be arsed. He's come on in a couple of games and looked OK, but games he's started in he's almost always been completely ineffective. The fact remains he's had a lot of chances to show he's good, he's only scored 2 and his all round play is generally poor. I'm not saying we should get rid but I'm not sure why people think he deserves to start. Schlupp and Nugent deserve it more.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Wooohoooo! Kneejerk time!! Playoffs by February etc etc!!! lol . No way.
Langston Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Good news Kennedy & Moore were great by the sounds of it, which is great news for pressing Pelts & Konch Midfield sounded a nightmare. King appeared to be doing it all with Abe going missing in the 2nd half and Danns completely anonymous for 89mins except for goal. Nuge had a shocker, completely anonymous and Schlupp seems to have no strength This is why we were on the backfoot for too long, both players were deservedly subbed Can't believe Howard let NP down like that, luckily it didn't matter in the end Don't base your opinion on radio coverage. Our midfield was much improved today.
marbelladave Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Afternoon all, nice to get home early........ Since many of you appear to have either seen the game or listened to one of the commentaries, I'll just comment on what I saw from the main stand. Firstly and most importantly the 3-5-2 system gave us strength in midfield, Tunchev may have been rusty and Mills and Bamba uncomfortable at times but with the excellent Kennedy and Moore giving us runners on both flanks the midfield actually looked the best it had for some time. Danns playing ahead of Abe and King was very decent, first half at least, apart from a few minutes at the begining and end of the half we actually looked comfortable in midfield........ Whilst I can understand why Tunchev was replaced, the reversion to 4-4-2 (more or less) left us once again rather exposed in central midfield and suddenly it was all Palace. The win was down to some heroic defending from the back 4 with some considerable help from King. That said a little bit more from our forward players could have made it a lot easier for us.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Why on earth are people surprised at Soooooper Steves sending off? He did it last time just before the play offs with a massive knock on effect. Silly devil
Leicfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 The Palace view... http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=118065
Happy Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Players who are the deadwood and shouldn't play for us again : Weale, Oakley, Dyer, Wellens and Howard at a push Gallagher. That along with those who never make the team i.e Moreno etc

Mind you at least the plebs cant answer you back on there quite so easily. I've never claimed I'm a better fan than anyone else. I just asked a simple question. More to my point, it was based on one person making specific comments about a certain player after hearing it over the radio. The reason SKY and radio broadcasters can comment Is because they have reporters at every match. But down to your great logic, because some has played well the week before means they will play well forever? I don't think so. Well what do I get apart from muppets like you coming across like you're gonna save the world, giving someone a bit of abuse? Fack all. I also do not get complimentary tickets.
breadandcheese Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 It's important to beat Barnsley now on the 14th. Need those back-to-back league wins.
seenitall Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 So we actually won then? Glad to se that's cheered everybody up a bit, phew!
Karljohn Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Pleased with a much needed win, Tom Kennedy had a great game by the sound of it, hopefully a turning point, Beckford is a lazy twat.
