cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 How can anyone comment on the performance if they've not been? Where's these deep problems you were on about the other day, hinting that the whole squad wouldn't play for NP and stuff at the club was very, very wrong For just about the 1st time since NP left, we saw players (old & new) willing to die for each other today
Thracian Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 We've learned 4-4-2 doesn't work, 3-5-2 does. Least Kennedy and Moore are different options, would like to see Bruno there though, could be a calming influence on the other 2. The 3-5-2 system is one that's been mentioned by a number of fans and seems as well suited to the players available as any at times. But with Tunchev clearly rusty from the weeks he's had doing nothing you could understand why Pearson reverted to a back four. Bamba's referring to the fact that they'd not done any rehearsal for the system on the training ground and that really concerns me. We should forever be preparing alternative systems.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Great win and deserved. Kennedy was mint, real battling performance and he is quicker than i thought. I said that he was at least good enough to be back up. Shows how poor Sven is in not giving him a chance. Strange selection at the start of the match but it was down to illness apparantly. But it paid off, was just like a NP team of old, grinding out results. Great win.
Magictv Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 certain things are self evident - i doubt any attendees will contradict opinions like kennedy had a great game, beckford is frustrating, schmiecal kept us in it, and general things like that we were tougher and more determined than in previous games. what else are we supposed to say: 'glad we won, but i'm mystified how we achieved it or who contributed'. granted a couple of posters have been a bit specific. i hardly visit this board these days and there's still killjoys with rods up there arses, let us talk and speculate and appreciate being in the company of people who we are totally empathetic with - if you can't tolerate a bit of over excited nonsense then why bother reading the thread? lol
wattolcfc Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 It would have been a clean sheet if it wasn't for Wellens.. I know he had something to do with it
FoxyPV Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Sounded much better today. Glad to get a win at last. Howard underlines his value to the team. On the 3 5 2 issue, Pelts can play in the middle if Tunch is out again.
Stevosevic Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 In bullet point form; I'm sure Adam Pearson has alot of things to say. I just hope he remembers it was me and my staff who bought in many of those players whilst a reasonably successful period at the club. Thanks Good response by Nige.
Happy Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Forest w**kers have gone 2-0 up, I bet their fans are going to jump out of the woodwork to get tickets now, piss poor t**ts.

FrankieADZ Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 pleasing win today Can read tomorrows papers with glee
Floridafox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Great fixtures coming up - Southampton and Brighton away, Boro and Cardiff at home...we can make quite an impact on those around us (well they will be around us)
lovelcfc Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 fantastic win was shitting it at the end big credit to nigel won ugly but thats what you need to do away from home nigel is good at doing tha taway from home

So that means you think Pearson is poor right? Also you've based this on one performance. Nugent and Kasper have been good for us....so....that makes Sven our best manager ever, right?

You do realise Pearson left us not long after signing Kennedy??
Haydos Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 You do realise Pearson left us not long after signing Kennedy?? Forgot about that Still, deciding that players are excellent and assuming so much after one performance fvcks me off. This is why we're so fickle...he has a good debut, maybe a couple of good games then shows nothing after that and everyone decides that he's now shit. A lot of these players have been with us for 6 months and are already idolised or hated. Half a season doesn't define a player (1 game certainly doesn't) and people aren't very quick to realise that.
Kitchandro Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Good win, though we were lucky. Youngy needs the sack, now. He talks so much crap it's unreal. How on earth can he defend the players for being ill-disciplined and swearing at the ref? He's an absolute embarrassment. Dagnall's no better, trying to take his side pedalling this bullshit about 'some players need that 'passion' to be at their best'. It is not passion it's retardation. Rooney is not a good player because he is an angry arsehole, that is what has hindered him throughout his career. Nigel needs to tell them to grow up and be professional. Bamba, Schmeichel, Howard, Mills and Beckford are all guilty of losing their heads and being so bleeding arrogant that they cannot accept the referee's decision, or being too aggressive in their play (two-footed lunges, unnecessary fouls and handbags). We cannot afford for this to cost us as it had done at times this season.
FoxTrott Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Danns - best game in foxes shirt, played in correct position. Got stuck in. Nice to see him clapped off by Palace fans also. Tunch had a brilliant first half, good to see for the rest of season. Bamba MotM for me, showed real emotion and barely put a foot wrong. Schlupp looks promosing but could probably do with bulking up. Becckford just needs a forward he can play with! He looks so dangerous but just lacks that final 1-2, someone of the same wavelength. All in all. Well played. Nice to see NP come and clap the fans in the end. Thought his subs and mixing up of tactics paid off well today!
Filbert The Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 This is just the kind of result that could give the whole squad a lift, especially with players coming in & doing a GREAT job, meaning those left out having competition for their places instead of the shirt just being handed to them. GREAT WIN LADS
Happy Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Is Wellens injured? Yes he is, of to Doncaster latest reports never to return to our side again I hope

For me, it's him who's not on the same wavelength as everyone else. This is because he is thick. He doesn't have a football brain and almost always makes the wrong decisions in promising positions. He has some talent and similarly to Fryatt he can go on those goalscoring runs where he's unstoppable. But his decision making and selfishness will continue to hamper him. He does always look dangerous but looking dangerous and actually being dangerous are miles apart.
MC Prussian Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 1. Not belittling anyone - it was a general question, so Alexei you can do one. But I guess you're the king on commenting when you've not been. 2. I didn't know there was a stream. You always ask the same question after every single game - tbh, it's a bit tedious.

Also you've based this on one performance. Nugent and Kasper have been good for us....so....that makes Sven our best manager ever, right? Yes as Kennedy could play under Pearson whilst he wasnt at the club couldnt he?! Idiot. Least I know basic facts before posting. Sven signings have been on the whole, more bad than good. Wasted so much money on Mills, Beckford + Ssl, whilst Fernandes and Johnson especially were poor signings, and dont even mention Michael Ball (how he thought ball was better than berner and kennedy i dont know. Ian Walker was a good Taylor signing, that make him a good manager? Contradict your own point there. Yes it was only one game, but both Kennedy and Moore have given NP food for thought. Did you even go today or just listen or watch a stream?
somebum Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Yes he is, of to Doncaster latest reports never to return to our side again I hope Great, he seems to be a common demoninator of bad performances. I know that we can get carried away with such theories and attack a straw man but his attitude doesn't seem great
