King

Wellens FACT he is detrimental to King's strengths no coincidence when Wellens isn't playing King and the rest of the team play slightly better not good enough for promotion.

You can't blame Wellens for King's inadequacies. It's not Wellens fault that he runs around aimlessly and very rarely ever touches the ball. Don't fall for the 'does a lot of work off the ball' argument either because his positioning ensures that he's never going to influence the game. Silly things like when the opposition has a throw in he doesn't mark a man he stands in no-mans land on his own or conversely, when we get one he actually goes and takes up a position next to one of their players rather than trying to find space. He's bone idle imo. Wellens has been making quite a few mistakes admittedly but that's usually because he's where the action is unlike King who only makes a few mistakes because he rarely touches the ball. Johnson looks like he's going, Fernandes has gone and imo we could do worse than getting rid of King and Danns as well. Danns flatters to deceive, whilst in fairness he, unlike King does try and get involved, just watch how he can't appear to pass whilst on the move, he almost has to be stationary.

I like king. Great finisher, but has stopped getting in those positions. When he isn't scoring you carry him.

At the moment he is 'he gets the ball and passes it back' rather than scores a goal.

I like King and I certainly don't want to get rid of him, cos we know about his abilities and he's still got plenty of time to improve. But I really hope Pearson starts experimenting and stops persevering with the Wellens/King combo, because it clearly hasn't worked like it used to.

Sadly I don't like King, to me he lacks bottle for a tackle, his passing is invariably 9 times out of 10 backwards or sidewards, he needs to move on, he probably do better in a premier team, but not this league.

Perhaps not but the presence of Wellens guarantees we'll get no goals from that source and virtually no one-twos either. People say he's a hustler - a bloke who "gets stuck in" but he's actually a lousy defender.

So King's been shunted back to defend, the goals and shots threat from King has consequently disappeared and there are no obvious give and goes left in the team.

Danns hasn't been a scorer, creator or give-and-go player either while he's been here and his close control yestereday was wretched so there's just no attacking outlets for Kingy's passing except Dyer.

Like others, I don't know where his drive has gone. It's almost as if his frustration has been overtaken by a fear of making mistakes because our fans seem to single certain players out for criticism however they play and King has always been one of them because he's not a physical player.

Dyer's another - he gets hammered and yet is sometimes our most lively and threatening forward while, on the other hand, Beckford gets excused whatever he does by some even though he has hardly done anything in a Leicester shirt of any note for all that he's probably getting twice the wages of some.

Well let's consider the realitiy of the service actually given by some of our regular players in terms of goals because no-one will tell me people like Wellens, Danns, Beckford or Abe are outstanding in other aspects, because they're not. Dyer and King have offered much the greatest effect, despite Dyer often playing bit parts and King often playing a defensive role.

Yuki Abe 2 goals in 52 appearances.

Neil Danns 2 goals in 17 appearances.

Jermaine Beckford 2 goals in 19 appearances (as a centre-forward!)

Richie Wellens 4 goals in 109 appearances.

Lloyd Dyer 18 goals in 118 appearances

Andy King 38 goals in 169 appearances

He is not good enough. Yesterday he lost Drinkwater twice who then played a big part in the goals. Look at the highlights, Mills tells King the first time but then he loses him again!

He is too weak, and loses the ball too easily.

Got in the team for scoring goals but doing bugger all else, now doesnt score goals and offers absolutely nothing else therefore should be dropped.

Weak tackling back, poor in the air, runs down blind allys, dallies on the ball, poor first touch, no pace to get away from his man.

Safe to say i'm not his biggest fan...

Not good enough for the aquad. Never mind the first team! He's gone all big time with his range rover now. Get rid he has zero passion and does NOTHING all game

Where are these highlights? I've not seen them but you could blame half the team for both goals from what I recall.

Mills had a go at Peltier for the first one and Peltier yelled back at him in no uncertain terms having been completely suckered on the edge of the box and finding himself with no cover from Mills or anyone else.

City mark zonally so i have to ask whether King lost Drinkwater or did he move into another zone? http://en.wikipedia....)#Zonal_marking

The first goal came through us losing possession clumsily, putting the whole right flank out of position. Mills did nothing to help Peltier when the move developed.

King might not be a tenacious tackler but as to "losing the ball too easily" he's one of the few who can be generally relied on to retain it. All midfielders lose possession at some stage and yesterday was no different. Danns was twice caught out dawdling on the halfway line and so too was Mills. That's no reason for Barnsley to be able to virtually walk through our back line unchallenged.

I'm not trying to absolve King from blame either. He seems totally lethargic for some reason and unless that changes rapidly he's unlikely to have a future here. But both goals came far too easily and none of our players showed the urgency needed to prevent them.

As much as i would like him to come good, he's non-existant at the moment. A central midfielder who is unwilling to tackle is a tragedy, he needs a kick up the arse in terms of putting in 100% for the team. Because it's quite clear he struggles with motivation.

seems to have lost all passion and drive from what I saw yesterday - seems scared of getting clattered and looks to be hiding as much as possible - you can't blame Wellens for his failures, I thought Wellens worked hard to get the ball yesterday and was up for the game - being saddled in midfield with Gally and King is no help to anyone as neither really looks to want the ball - in any other team he would be dropped for a while, as would Gallagher and actually probably Wellens too. Dyer was ok yesterday but he is saddled with too much to allow him to be creative and operate as a winger (including for some reason yesterday being last man at the back for Gally's woeful corners - surely a waste and also a massive risk as I have never seen him tackle - he may have pace but to what end?? King has to be dropped, along with Gallagher - neither should be in the team

Yep !

Hopefully this will push Pearson into what he should be doing anyway, getting a central midfielder. At least on loan.

Or playing Michael Johnson!
