Babylon Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Like we wouldn't have had fans doing the same if the situations were reversed. People seem to forget that every club has it's idiots and for every idiot the club probably has 100 or so fans just like you and I keen to see them do well and protective of their status. Well I was on their forum the time and I must have missed those saddened by our plight. To a man they couldn't have been happier had they won the bloody lottery.
Guest MattP Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 We cheered even louder when Brian Deane headed in the winner. Was the game we scored 2 near the end wasnt it?
davieG Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Well I was on their forum the time and I must have missed those saddened by our plight. To a man they couldn't have been happier had they won the bloody lottery. Well I'm guessing that despite their small crowds they don't all visit forums and they have some decent fans out there and as i said, and i'm sure you know we have our own delightfully sympathetic fans.
James. Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Quite surprised people are happy to see a club fold just because their fans cheered when we went into admin or they weren't very sympathetic about us on their forum. Maybe the club won't fold but if it does do you really not care? I think about things like the work the club does in the community, what it does at grass roots level, the hundreds of people that are employed there, the local businesses that rely on trade with the club (not to mention the thousands of fans that don't go on forums or weren't cheering at us). Find it pretty mad people sacrifice looking at the bigger picture in favour of giving weight to some morons on a forum or in an away end. Strange, guess that's just the partisan nature of being a football fan.
leicesterseddon Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Was always going to go tits-up when they moved into the Ricoh Arena to be honest. Trying to run a football club without any matchday revenue coming in was just daft.
PAULCFC Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 The biggest mistake Cov made was moving so far out of town.....Allright we moved, but it was just up the road.Allways enjoyed my trips to Highfield Road.
Adster Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 For reason's said above and on the previous page. Don't really care to be honest. They've gave us so much shit when we went into Admin I simply don't care and don't wish them well if they do so to. Whatever.
breadandcheese Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 No football fans deserve administration. It is something of which they had no making. I hope Cov find a decent buyer who can rescue them. After all, it's always a pleasure beating them.
Matt Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 I've said it many times before and no doubt i'll say it many times again. What goes around comes around, fans wise, it's not very nice to wish on anyone despite Coventry's lack of fans anyway, all the football league clubs barr us (And Bradford?) voted for a points deductions, penalties and punishments towards clubs going into administration in light of what we did, I still don't understand how going into Administration helped us get promoted that season though. As for Coventry getting relegated, I will laugh, I will enjoy it, but there will be abit of sadness in fact that we won't be playing them as that is our local rival for me personally - No I don't want a debate of who you really hate and who our 'proper' derby is, for me it's the local derby, end of. That goes for Forest also, If things carry on and it looks like it will end up in Coventry and Forest getting relegated it leaves us with Derby County as the only local team we'd play in the league, again for me and my personal opinion not really bother by Derby County games, It's just another game for me. (Unless of course you want to include Birmingham if they are still in this league next season -TBH i'd personally class Birmingham as more of a local derby than games against Derby County because of my location.)
FOX_TROT_07 Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 For me there's no doubt there our biggest rivals and I will b happy to see them go down and struggle but I agree I wouldn't like to see them go out of business. I hope someone does save them but no too soon let them suffer abit longer and confirm there doomed relegation
Yojoe36 Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Decent away game as well. Poor cov ...I also like how the interviewer was a women... Just saying
Matt Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Decent away game as well. Poor cov ...I also like how the interviewer was a women... Just saying Is it? Don't get me wrong I always go because I hate Cov but i'd say its one of the worst away games of the season.
Yojoe36 Posted 19 January 2012 Posted 19 January 2012 Is it? Don't get me wrong I always go because I hate Cov but i'd say its one of the worst away games of the season. Nah, I just mean it's a nice little trip. It's always a fixture I always look forward to. But that's just me
Ashley Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Remember the Coventry fan who posted on here for us to sign the petition "Get SISU out"? Well my response is the same now. I am glad, hope they do go into admin. Karma, ITS A BITCH.
Asha Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Isn't nearly every one of you hoping Cov go bust just being a cunt for the sake of being a cunt?
Tielemans63 Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 The local derbies are always the first fixtures I look for at the start of a new season. The more derbies the better as far as I'm concerned so for me one less is a bad thing.
bluesbrothers Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Far more worried about Darlington and Kettering atm.
Langston Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 Isn't nearly every one of you hoping Cov go bust just being a cunt for the sake of being a cunt? And the award for most self-righteous post goes to....
Finnegan Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 Isn't nearly every one of you hoping Cov go bust just being a cunt for the sake of being a cunt?
TheWestEnd Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 When you had your troubles, most Cov fans wern't delighted believe it or not. Some were I'll give you that, but most were just the same as a lot of reactions on here, I wouldn't wish this on any club, not even one where some fans see it as a rivalry.
Kitchandro Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 I wouldn't want them to fold, and they won't. We need someone to laugh at. It's become a common phrase around here; 'it could always be worse, we could be Coventry'. I'd miss that. And in general I love the derby games. Though that's irrelevant as we probably won't be playing them for quite a few years after this season. But I'd find it hilarious if they went into administration. I must be one of the few who just doesn't care about other clubs. Football is dog-eat-dog, it's all about my club and it's us against everyone else. As others have said, most of them laughed at us, why shouldn't we laugh at them? It's like people saying they feel sorry for Plymouth and Pompey (two other clubs who hate us and laughed at our demise), Why? It doesn't make any difference to me whether those clubs exist or not, let alone whether they have a few financial problems. I can say 'I'm glad it's not us' and 'I know how it feels', but it's not us, so it's not my problem. Fvck off Chaventry.
