ALADINSANE Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 I got slated on here by so called no alls because i said Matt Mills was a Donkey and i didn't have a clue about football and the 400 mile round trip i make to home games was a waste of time so does this mean Mr Pearson also doesn't ? i think he has seen the light you can only pull the wool for so long. Guest ttfn Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Mills isn't a Pearson type centre half, Pearson wants consistent solid 7/10 performers each week like Hobbs and Morgan, he doesn't want someone like Mills who one week will be a 10/10 bringing the ball out like Baresi then the next week being a 5/10 and being at fault for 3 goals. In this league you need solid, don't **** about type centre halves who are hard to play against. Nice to hear from opposing fans but this is bull. I must have seen Mills play 20 times and not once has he brought the ball out of defence. He is a no-nonsense "Pearson-style" defender. Pearson seems to be encouraging more progressive play by picking St Ledger

Remember though SSl got plenty of stick on here as did Morgan when he signed. Nigel has a job to do, we won tonight with a clean sweep so why change the defence.

When he was here and when he was Reading he seemed a ball playing, error prone defender.

I see how everyone feels about him and yes he's not lived up to his expectations. On the other hand he's done his part for the team. If he's having a hump cause he's been dropped then that's wrong but I'll like him to stay at the club. Well its good to have competition for places keeps them on there toes,we dont know whats gone on but i would probably guess Mills having a bit of the hump for being dropped. But if he wants to play for lcfc he will knuckle down and get back in the team,its no need getting in a strop because NP has shown he wont take that Totally agree with you, no player is bigger than the club and players need to accept that.
Kitchandro Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 SSL has been better than Mills. My main concerns with him though are that he's very casual, sometimes too casual on the ball, and he doesn't win many aerial battles.

"He has a knock and is looking tired", "we are employing squad rotation", "Mills understands that and is going to have to earn his place in the team like anyone else." Second that. Pearson needs to market himself better.

Think the interviewer shit himself and moved on . Mills is a good player but its frustrating he hasn't shown it consistently. Must've done something to not make the bench though ..

Pearsons response clearly means it's in Mills court. Knuckle down and play well and you are in, anything else is not enough.

He's not been dropped As I always do, I'm saying it as I see it.. Like I did with Mills before he was dropped. I just wanna see us get success Corky. And if I don't think certain players will bring us that I'll say so. Ive also said I'll be over the moon if he improves and starts scoring goals. But his performance this evening was rubbish and he's still on three league goals for the season. So I'm saying so...
