Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 I don't think he needs to work on his media persona at all. I loved that he was abrupt and didn't come out with any rubbish excuses. Well done Nigel.. 100% agree
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 It looks like there's been a clash of egos between Mills and Pearson. There's only gonna be one winner there. I'm sure we said this about SSL recently. Things can change.
anglodan Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Didn't sound good did it, NP really needs to work on his media persona, it was clear he didn't want to talk about it, but all he has done is stoked the fire, ether be totally honest or trot out the tired old cliches which don't actually mean anything. "He has a knock and is looking tired", "we are employing squad rotation", "Mills understands that and is going to have to earn his place in the team like anyone else." Disagree. I find his media persona very refreshing. Doesn't suffer fools gladly. Us fans think we have a right to know everything all the time. NP will reveal whats been going on once he, and only he feels the time is right. Totally agree with you Col. That's why I like NP this
Kitchandro Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Well after that sky interview, I do not think he has a future here much longer !!! Good ridance to getting rid of a Big Ego is my view ! We said that about St Ledger. I wouldn't be bothered if Mills went, he has got an ego, I've thought that since he's been here and he's an average player.
cc_star Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Bye mills. Not a patch on Morgan. Pearson just said he has an ego. No, he said he's not interested in egos which I take to mean... He doesn't care if he bruises someone's ego by not selecting them... Not that Mills has an ego Agree, not a patch on Big Wes though, gonna be immense for us
speedwayson Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 the writing on the wall after tonight for millsy a cat as 9 lives hes lived all his good bye millsy
Criggers Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 £5 Million pounds to sign Matt Mills from Reading £40,000 per week wages for his services Nigel Pearson's explanation of why Mills has been dropped from the squad, PRICELESS. Loved that! I like Pearsons honesty and bluntness and if mills is being an egotistical twat then he can clear off. NP made it clear from the off he doesn't want ego's and a big money attitude. It's a squad we have. If Mills is here this time next season and turns out to be the best thig since Steve Walsh ten fair enough, but as it is he just doesn't cut it and seems to be mardy. So. As it stands.Goodbye Matt...
paddy Agyemang Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 O well sell for 3 million he's average at best, Morgan and SSL are solid 2 clean sheets out of 2
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 ? Tried to finger Sol Bamba when he was taking his bib off. Disgusting
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 O well sell for 3 million he's average at best, Morgan and SSL are solid 2 clean sheets out of 2 That is correct, except of course for the goal they let in at Norwich.
LCFC BEAST Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 How times can change, from slating SSL for the same 'attitude' to wanting to wipe his backside from him, pathetic.
broughtonblue Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Pearson really reminds Me of Graeme Souness when he was manager of rangers, no nonsense, abrupt but correct
Corky Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 The interviewer obviously didn't know Pearson's style at all. He was never going to get what he wanted from the interview. Pearson pulls the shutters down before the mob rush in, we all know that.
Callabinho Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 I won't loose sleep if Mills is off we've got Wes Morgan
caz05 Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 How times can change, from slating SSL for the same 'attitude' to wanting to wipe his backside from him, pathetic. Well Mills perhaps needs a kick up the ass like SSL did, worked wonders for him
Guest shearfox Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 That is correct, except of course for the goal they let in at Norwich. Never a penalty....
TheUltimateWinner Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 SSL has grown under Pearson loads, And has for me became our most consistent stand out performer.
LCFC BEAST Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Well Mills perhaps needs a kick up the ass like SSL did, worked wonders for him Granted he's been average at most, but not having backing of fans isn't gonna get him nowhere. SSL started getting backing and is now first choice.
LCFC BEAST Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Stringer tweet - Nigel Pearson on Matt Mills situation. Asked "Mills does have a future doesn't he?" NP "er, you'll have to wait and see, depends"
George Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Mills isn't a Pearson type centre half, Pearson wants consistent solid 7/10 performers each week like Hobbs and Morgan, he doesn't want someone like Mills who one week will be a 10/10 bringing the ball out like Baresi then the next week being a 5/10 and being at fault for 3 goals. In this league you need solid, don't **** about type centre halves who are hard to play against.
caz05 Posted 23 February 2012 Posted 23 February 2012 Granted he's been average at most, but not having backing of fans isn't gonna get him nowhere. SSL started getting backing and is now first choice. Well its good to have competition for places keeps them on there toes,we dont know whats gone on but i would probably guess Mills having a bit of the hump for being dropped. But if he wants to play for lcfc he will knuckle down and get back in the team, its no need getting in a strop because NP has shown he wont take that
