I thought Jon Snow was going to pull out a can of Pepsi Max and start quenching his thirst....It reminded me a bit of World War Z! Apparently the band Mastodon were in in the episode too, playing Wildlings

Oh, and cheers for the in fo on how to do the spoiler!

I think Commander Moremont said so when he gave it to John

Oh right, I didn't even think it was his. I just thought he picked up a random sword from the ground lol

I'm looking forward to this tonight.

Without posting spoilers, in comparison to last week:  worse, as good, or better?

lol

Very few scenes will match the battle at hardhome in EP8, but last night was a solid episode. One scene in particular was excruciating to watch though.

Veered between uncomfortable viewing and incredible stuff at time tonight - those last 15 minutes were amazing.

Another great episode tonight.  As good as last week imo.

Who is the guy with Tyrell in Braavos? The one that Arya is following.  I recognise him but I've lost track and it's tricky remembering between seasons who is who sometimes.

I need to get the box set of these on bluray!

Meryn Trant, he killed her dancing master in season one that's why he's on her list.

Not read the books but I find it difficult to believe that is in Stannis' character.

Well he wanted to do it to Gendry earlier on in the series who was his nephew. He is a strong driven character who will stop at nothing to get what he believes is his right and in doing so has been taken on some very bad advice.

Sacrificing his daughter is not really out of character.

in the books he was going to sacrifice Edric Storm and Mance's baby, although I seem to remember when Mel suggested sacrificing his daughter he sent her away

The lass that plays Shireen has been nailing it this season, great casting again.

Cheers, it's come back to me now.

Those first four episodes of this series were so dull and boring, followed by a couple of better ones, but these final four - outstanding so far.

Yeah, he's a dick in the programme.

Book Stannis is also entirely pragmatic and his views on the Lord of Light are not strong. He firmly believes in the likely event of his death Shireen is the rightful heir and constantly reiterates to those who serve him they should fight for her claim if such would happen.

Yeah, he is still a dick in the book but a much more likeable dick, what you really miss in the TV show is the internal monologues and the real understanding of why they are how they are. What makes the books so good is how you easily switch between hating a character to sympathising with them to actually like them, all the Lannisters go through that journey in the book except Joffrey who is just a cvnt.
