It's an interesting view, I don't know how I would feel if the next book came out and it was more or less the same as the show, and if the show concludes before the books will it be a massive spoiler.

What has surprised me is that they have rushed through the books, they have missed out another couple of series worth of material, if they had slowed it down and expanded on Martin's world, developed the characters and houses more they could have milked this for another 5 series without pissing off any book readers, thus keeping their fan base as wide as possible, developing and concluding different story lines.

For example, Young Griff, Quentyn, the Iron Islanders, Lady Stoneheart, instead of excluding them, they could have started it earlier, developed it more and thus had a bigger pay off, they would have attracted fans of the book as they would have added to the GoT world, rather than detracted from it. They had scope to add more flashbacks and develop the history of Westeros, the mad king and the previous age of dragons, the downfall of the Targaryens.

10 x 1 hour episodes just seems such an odd decision, ok for series 1 and 2 but now it is successful, surely expand the scope give it more time to develop and more episodes to sell advertising for.

Instead it has felt a little rushed.

This would be good, however HBO probably only commissioned them for so many seasons, I guess we will just never know.

Probably right, I don't really know how tv rights negotiations go, I am worried that they know how it is all supposed to conclude, and whereas Georgie has said that he might end up writing an 8th book to finish it all off, the TV show will rush us through to the end because they can.

To eb fair, even though I haven't read the books it would p1ss me off if they have alternate endings/the books has to match what the TV series has done.

Off to see a concert in Dorne tomorrow night.

Does anybody know if they are starting to film again soon? If they're doing it soon, they must have to the script ready by now. I don't know how my influence the author has on the series...

That sounds pretty much as expected, and some of it can be gleaned from the filming anyway (there was no way Jon was going to stay dead, for instance). It also sounds like they're merging the storylines of Daenaerys and Young Griff/Aegon which is a big change.

In any case, I expect the army of the dead to reach the Wall sometime around the end of the season and render everything else irrelevant.

Casting has been done for Euron so he'll definitely be in this season, so I would expect the rest of the family to play a part too.

Is this all confirmed or is some of it conjecture?

More confirmations (Big spoilers)

Sansa, Rickon and Jon are at the battle in ep9, Ramsay has 2 bodies burning and upside down on the flayed cross, it is unknown who they are but they are "known" characters. So take your guess, its confirmed that Rickon is not one of them. My guess would be either Tormund and Davos, but who knows its defently not Pod and Brienne as they are in the Riverlands.

So where are you getting these rumours from then? Are you involved in any of it, or are you just getting these from a GoT forum then trying to be smart on here?

So when is available? I do not have hundreds of digital channels.

The next season isn't out until probably March/April next year, that's around the time they're usually shown on TV.

Great series .....   good tv viewing when that was on with Vikings on the history channel and working our way through the Breaking Bad box set.

Will not forget sitting in pub talking about it when Dopey the pilot walked in (who's read the book) and said    "Has the dwarf killed his dad yet?"
