  1. 1. It's time to...

    • Beef up the war, kill them all, whatever the cost
    • Legalise and tax, the war never worked so let's earn not spend
    • Keep the not-fit-for-purpose status quo
    • Go to the shop, I have the munchies
    • Sack Pearson, it's the only solution to the drugs war

Personally I don't care how many sad acts they find dead with a syringe in their arms , that's up to them it's their business. But if they want to fund their degenerate lifestyle by stealing off me then it does become my business.

And if they want to spread their offensive lifestyle to my children and vulnerable people then again it becomes my business.

The dealers re not always users so if they are put out of buisness there is less chance of the persuading others like young and vulnerable

from starting.

As long as there is a demand for drugs, then there will be people willing to supply them its that simple. The biggest war should be on alcohol anyway, how many times do you get a few drunk people acting like assholes? sober them up and they are different people.

Lightweight teenages filling up hospitals and wasting police time at weekends.

People killing themselves with alcohol, I would rather be a Heroin addict that a full blown alcoholic you would live 10x longer

so many better things we could be at war with

Judging by how well the 'war on drugs' is going, it's probably better if we don't get fighting anything.

Alcohol is the most harmful drug to society, but not to individual users. Heroin & Crack are more harmful to individuals. Crystal Meth is more than likely up there too.

I have to disagree Alcohol destroys the body you can meet people that have been smoking Crack and herion for over a decade and they are not dying. If you you tried to drink a litre of Vodka for a year you would be lucky if you didn't need a new liver.

If alcohol was invented a year ago and people started using it the drug would be illegal by now. Of course Alcohol is sociable acceptable and that makes it 100x more dangerous but it is taxed so it is ok, alcohol kills more people than all other drugs combined (excluding tobacco).

Does anyone really believe there has ever been a "war on drugs" here? We are a country where the police pretty much ignore cannabis smokers and you can even get just a caution for being in possesion of so called Class A's. If you wants to see a war on drugs have a look at the way the UAE go about it.

I am in favour of legalising some drugs though, not heroin though, I've seen what that can do to people, ruined a very good friend he looked and acted like a corpse within a year of starting to take the stuff.

Very good point imo. Even should most drugs be legalised, they'll always be yet stigma (rightly in most cases) of danger and severe health risks and with that comes negative social connotations of those who take it.

Meanwhile, you have alcohol which can be advertised freely and has been ingrained in hundreds if not thousands of cultures for so long that's it's seen as almost essential to enjoyment for a lot of people, and that's what progresses to alcoholism. That's what can make it so deadly.

Im in favour of legalising all drugs even opiates or ban then all alcohol included, who knows a person that has died or been seriously injured through someone being drunk and fighting? i don't know anyone who takes Ecstasy and wants to kill people or smokes some weed or even uses Heroin and wants to kill other people

So because an authoritarian regime has stricter, less humane policies towards drugs we should ignore the fact that our own country's guilty of criminalising its citizens for deciding to use a more socially responsible method of getting intoxicated?  That's what the term drug war means: Making it illegal and punishing your citizens for it, regardless of relative severity of punishment.

I think 2nd hand smoke is the only reasonable concern non-partaking members of the public should have, but with designated areas where consumption is permitted (coffee shops or private residences) that's easily dealt with.

There is no way you get a caution for getting caught with class A's You will go to court for possession and get a fat fine if its your first offence

Of course there is. Getting nicked for the 1st time with say, half a gram of coke will get you a night in Nick and a formal caution 99% of the time.

And you can disagree all you want regarding alcohol vs hard drugs, it has been studied in depth. Heroin/Crack addiction over the same time period is more harmful to the users body than booze.

Does anyone doubt that Heroin and crack is worse for your body than alcohol? I think the argument is that alcohol is more dangerous because your far more likely to not only harm yourself but also more likely to harm others (which would be less likely on other drugs).

Not that I give a shit. Let people drink for all I care but this war on drugs is a complete and utter waste of time. IF anyone thinks its working then they have their head in the sand. Educating the masses is the only option.

Yes FreeSolo does, which is why I said it. And I also said earlier in the thread that alcohol was more harmful to SOCIETY than hard drugs.

Agree with this totally.

Aside from booze and ciggies, I've never touched the illegal stuff, even though it gets offered around like water in Ibiza, especially cocaine. No problem if people want to do it, just don't really fancy it myself.
