Jaspa Posted 9 May 2012 Posted 9 May 2012 So it's OK to fvck over long standing history but not the recent stuff because the forum children can't think back that far? Either all of this mock faux indignation leads to people demanding the original strips their clubs played in or it has absolutely no substance at all. No, its not ok But it doesn't hold the same relevance to us, because when we did it the club was 15 years old, theirs is currently 113 Its not the same

Our history wasn't long standing when we dropped the black and chocolate kits. Every club experimented in it's early years but we've played in blue for about 100 years, that's our colour. It would be a disgrace to change it at this stage.
The Doctor Posted 9 May 2012 Posted 9 May 2012 Really?Ffs sake don't ever watch Dr Who then. Dr Who hasn't been remotely scary since it came back.

ozleicester Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 So, some peope will NOT support their club if it changes its shirt colour?..I could be wrong but arent some of those the very same people who accused others of being "plastics" etc? Leicester City is my club, I own it in my heart, whether we wear Blue, Red, White...Whatever.... it will remain my club. My Club is owned by people born in Thailand. My Club is managed by someone born in... fking Nottingholeshitham. My Club is captained by someone born in Manchester (or Leicester or Wales depending on who is actually the current captain). My Club has NO-ONE in the first eleven born in Leicester. I love City in Blue, but I love City more than blue.

The owners, manager and players are all temporary, but other things are a part of the club's identity, and shouldn't change if there's no need. Can you not see the difference between a plastic, and someone who is so hacked off with the owners for messing with the club, or disrespecting the fans, that they vote with their feet? If the owners read only your comment on this thread, they'd think they could do whatever they like with the club and there'd be no consequences. Are you saying you wouldn't care at all if the owners changed the home colours just because they felt like it? You wouldn't care if they ditched the badge and all fox references, and rebranded us "the pigs", "the naked mole rats" or "the flamingos"? You wouldn't mind if they changed the club's name? What about the club's location?
Saxondale Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 Madness. Commercially cynical. Every piece of merchandise ever sold immediately becomes the wrong colour and in need of replacing from the club shop.

brockmyster Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 If the cardiff owners believe red will sell better, go for a red away kit, no need to change a clubs identity and just send the away kits to Asia to sell or is that far too simple?

Jaspa Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 They now have a excuse not to invest in the squad Thank God King Power and the Raksriaksorn's have continued to support us and haven't dropped any stunts like this on us ! :fc:

What about the club's location? You are completely right, it isnt that simple, far more difficult to decide where is "the line". Leicester Fosse Vs Leicester City Chocolate (mmm) Vs Blue Filbert St Vs Freeman's wharf the running fox Vs the Fox head Pretty much ALL of the things youve raised as great threats to our club...have already occurred and I still support. I honestly dont know what it would take for me to stop supporting "My Club"... do you? I guess thats my point, everyone has their own reason for supporting and reason to give it away, im tired of people naming others as being plastic because they dont support the way they "should" If someone tells me they are a Leicester supporter, then i will welcome them whatever their level of support.
Jaspa Posted 11 May 2012 Posted 11 May 2012 I said this before, and I think its a major talking point, but no-one noticed Their owners now have a MASSIVE excuse not to invest in the squad, or the setup

Don't be a pr**k It was a thought going around in my head for a while and I would justve like some more views and opinions Not someone ripping me for possible cheap rep
SystonFox Posted 12 May 2012 Posted 12 May 2012 I really don't know quite why , but this story has really irritated me. edit; i know it sounds a bit melodramatic , but it's like the new owners are just trampling all over this great club's history now i know youre taking the piss...... cardiff city. ........ great club? behave yourself la

accessory Posted 5 June 2012 Posted 5 June 2012 Back on the agenda - due to be discussed at board meeting.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18324804
Leicester_Loyal Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 They'll be playing in red next year, and their badge is changing too. Stadium is staying the same colour though. Announcement at 9am tomorrow. All what I've taken from their forum
Jaspa Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 They'll be playing in red next year, and their badge is changing too. Stadium is staying the same colour though. Announcement at 9am tomorrow. All what I've taken from their forum I just checked back on CardiffCityForum.co.uk, again from when this news broke a month ago And the majority of their fans seem to have completely changed in that time Absolutely horrific, to see a club sell out everything their legendary players have ever played in, the colours they used to love as children, the songs they sang for years; all gone for a quick shot at The Prem They wont ever be the same club Doubt the Stadia will remain blue for long either Can anyone think of any decent chants to rip them with next season ? :scarf:
ozleicester Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 The important thing now is... they are going to get that investment... Quick Nige, get on the phone
Asha Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18324804 The kit & badge there.
