goose2010 Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Rio has been left out kyle walker is out injured! And according to people on twitter ( I know twitter isn't the most reliable source) there is one or two big shocks in the squad
BoneDog Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Yeah just seen this on BBC Football. It says Ferdinand is set to miss out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18081125
Kitchandro Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Jones and Cahill centre back partnership for me. If Terry gets anywhere near the starting 11 I'm supporting the opposition. Oh and Baines is a better left back than Cole, I'd stcik him in.
goose2010 Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Talk phil Neville is in.......surely to to carry Gary's bags?!

RonnieTodger Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Richards out according to Fourth Official...FFS I ****ing hope not. Especially if Kyle Walker is gonna be injured. I'll play ahead of Glen Johnson. Who's gonna be his backup? Tony Hibbert?
accessory Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 I ****ing hope not. Especially if Kyle Walker is gonna be injured. I'll play ahead of Glen Johnson. Who's gonna be his backup? Tony Hibbert? Phil Jones? A lot of posts have Rooney down in the starting XI. I thought he was banned for the first 3 games? Or have i missed something? Please tell me i'm wrong! First 2 games.

Fox92 Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 It's about time the likes of Grant Holt, Scott Sinclair and Mark Noble were given a chance. Same old boring and average squad, but that's what we come to expect now.
Kitchandro Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I really hope this is an attempt of wit. No I'm serious. My love for the England team died long ago because of players like him. I like Hodgson but if he's going to keep picking these tossers I want them to be embarrassed by Ukrainian forwards.
Jimothy Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Stevie G named captain Good Choice imo If we must have a designated captain, then this should always have been the case. Non of this Rio or Terry bollocks, should always have been Gerrard. In my opinion though we should have a set skipper, it should just go to whoever has the most caps in the starting line up for that game. Having a designated captain only gives the impression that player is undroppable, which should never be the case.
General Smuts Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 Drab and boring squad of players that will win nothing and bottle it as per. Unfortunately with our most exciting players injured (Wilshere, Smalling) Hodge as done more or less as well as could be expected with what is at his disposal. Oxlade Chamberlain is the only gamble he's made and I don't rate him that highly. Hodge was right to gamble on someone but he's too similar to Walcott imo and I'd have rather seen him take Johnson (and left Downing well at home) and gamble on someone in the middle of the park like Leon Britton or up top like Grant Holt. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on choosing Carroll over Crouch and hope that pays off. He was right to leave Rio at home with the season he's had but Micah Richards must be ****ing livid he's only taken Glen Johnson. I'd have liked to have seen: Hart, Ruddy, Carson Richards, Johnson Cole, Baines Terry, Cahill, Lescott, Jones Walcott, Milner Young, A. Johnson Parker, Carrick Gerrard, Britton Rooney, Defoe, Welbeck, Holt
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 I do like how some think taking Adam Johnson over Downing is such a no-brainer. Definitely a raw talent but I've never seen a player so one footed, and he barely plays for crying out loud. Downing's had a poor season, but the same could be said of a lot of players in that squad, fact is he's been a consistently good Premier League winger for some time (bar his stint at Liverpool). I think there's very little between the pair of them.
General Smuts Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 It's Downing's shit show of a season that has me looking to pick anyone else at all rather than him, Johnson gives a different option and an impact as a substitute as he's already proved for England and Man City. And Downing's hardly ambidextrous is he?
Soar Fox Posted 22 May 2012 Posted 22 May 2012 Martin Kelly called up. Hodgson really doesn't like Micah Richards.
Jaspa Posted 22 May 2012 Posted 22 May 2012 Martin Kelly called up. Hodgson really doesn't like Micah Richards. He must've done something really wrong to get this type of treatment from Man City & England There where rumours of him moving to Real Madrid soon, but im not sure if this was before or after he got dropped Id at least take him if it was my side

Plus he's a good impact sub for them.
Tielemans63 Posted 24 May 2012 Author Posted 24 May 2012 He must've done something really wrong to get this type of treatment from Man City & England There where rumours of him moving to Real Madrid soon, but im not sure if this was before or after he got dropped Id at least take him if it was my side Martin Kelly called up. Hodgson really doesn't like Micah Richards. I was thinking the same until I read the following article today. The Guardian reckon that he refused to be named on the standby list ater being overlooked for the full squad. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/23/danny-welbeck-england-injury "Apart from Welbeck, Glen Johnson was the only player to sit out a session that was preceded and followed by Hodgson talking with the players about what he wants from them in next month's tournament. The Liverpool full-back is nursing a minor injury, which explains Martin Kelly's call-up to the group as back-up. Kelly's promotion follows Micah Richards's decision not to be part of Hodgson's standby list on the back on his disappointment about being overlooked in favour of Johnson and Phil Jones."
AyewJoking Posted 24 May 2012 Posted 24 May 2012 I dislike this attitude of not playing if you arent in the squad proper. I rate Richards and think he should be in the squad but if this is his attitude when it comes to representing his country then fúck off!!
