Tielemans63 Posted 9 May 2012 Posted 9 May 2012 I may have missed someone obvious but this would be my 23-man squad. I'd have taken Wilshere & Rodwell if fit obviously. Some might take the piss but I think Carroll could be a useful sub. GK - Hart Green Foster DEF - Richards Walker Cole Baines / Gibbs Jagielka Cahill Jones Lescott MID - Barry Parker Cleverly Oxlade-Chamberlain Walcott Young Milner A.Johnson ATT - Rooney Welbeck Sturridge Carroll

chris_lcfc_85 Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 Folks, not that it matters too much but thought Foster had sacked off international football for now.....? Maybe the 3 x keepers will be Hart, Green and then one of Carson/Stockdale/Ruddy/Fielding..... I think the defence will be ok, plenty of options in all area's, will be interesting who is picked at CB between Ferdinand/Terry/Lescott/Jagielka/Jones/Smalling/Cahill/Richards/Dawson Centre mid and strikeforce is tough! Up top i think Rooney and Welbeck will defo go then who knows.... Sturridge has hardly played recently and Darren Bent is injured.... I'd defo take Andy Carroll and i'd still go with Defoe, good experience and can score goals Anybody thibk Joe Cole should go? I rate him and apparently he's been class in France
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 Foster's retired hasn't he? GK: Hart - Ruddy - Stockdale DEF: A.Cole - Baines - Walker - Richards - Lescott - Cahill - Terry - Jagielka MID: Parker - Lampard - Gerrard - J.Cole - Walcott - Chamberlain - Britton - Milner FOR: Welbeck - Rooney - Sturridge - Carroll *Be alot more interesting if the likes of Cleverley / Wilshere / Rodwell hadn't had seasons interrupted / ended so badly.

ScouseFox Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 Crikey, trying to pick 23 players has highlighted how massively shit we really are. It's a struggle.

RowlattsFox Posted 10 May 2012 Posted 10 May 2012 I assume we're allowed to pick a 30-man preliminary squad for the two warm up games before then reducing it to 23, assuming this is the case I would pick the following. Keepers: Hart, Foster (if he comes out of retirement), Carson, Ruddy Defenders: Walker, G Johnson, Richards, Terry, Cahill, Lescott, Jagielka, Jones, Cole and Baines Midfielders: A Johnson, Walcott, Young, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gerrard, Lampard, Parker, Barry, Carrick, Strikers: Rooney, Bent, Sturridge, Welbeck, Crouch and Carroll Decisions to make IMO: - Johnson or Richards to go with Walker to fight for right back - Assess harmony with Terry in squad - Take Richards or Jones as 4th centre back and cover for right back meaning an extra body can be taken somewhere else - Which wide players to take? - Barry or Carrick? - Milner for his versatility? - Crouch or Carroll? Only one should go. - Whether Bent is fit enough? - Take 4 strikers with Walcott as a 5th attacking option. Probably missed someone obvious, average squad really.

Iwan Roberts tooth fairy Posted 11 May 2012 Posted 11 May 2012 GK - Hart, Ruddy, Butland DEF - Richards, Walker, Cole, Baines, Terry, Cahill, Ferdinand, Jones MID - Ox-Chamberlain, Young, Walcott, Lennon, Gerrard, Parker, Scholes, Carrick ATT - Rooney, Welbeck, Carroll, Defoe Hart© Richards - Cahill - Terry - Cole parker Gerrard - Scholes Oxlade Young Rooney
Jaspa Posted 11 May 2012 Posted 11 May 2012 Goalkeeps : Hart, Foster , Green/Forster Defence : Richards, Walker, Terry, Cahill, Jones, Lescott, A.Cole, Baines Midfield : Parker, Scholes , Milner, Lampard, Gerrard, Young, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain StrikeForce : Rooney, Carroll, Sturridge, Bent/Crouch/Defoe/Heskey/Holt Starting line-up depends on the results of the Premiership Title and the Champions League Final Midfield is very tricky as we have to accommodate Lamps & Gerry, and just dropping Scholes into the team might not work the way some think it would, a plus for us is Milner, because he is very versitile, becoming a winger in emergencies. Id drop Rio Id start the wildcard striker for the absence of Roo, and bring on Carroll as an impact sub if that doesn't work Very hard and big decisions for Roy to make, lets wish he gets them right
Tielemans63 Posted 11 May 2012 Author Posted 11 May 2012 I dunno, the 4 man advantage may help. Oh. I assumed Konchesky, Konchesky, Konchesky & Konchesky were on his sub's bench.
