Fox92 Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Ageing, couldn't kick a ball against a brick wall if it was staring him in the face and will probably demand high wages for two pointless seasons! Good work by Nigel I say why risk diminishing his name at this club by bringing him back for an easy retirement? I know what you mean about the risk in terms of his legendary status at the club, and also his wages. However, we do need a mobile target man in my opinion. We saw last season that Beckford and Nugent are not strikers that have the ability to hold the ball up, and so the ball kept coming back; bit like England yesterday. Not only can Heskey be able to hold the ball up, but he can also bring other players into play. I'll always like Emile whoever he plays for, but he could be an indispensible asset at this level.

It is a shame that he is off to Hull, but Pearson dare not risk the move, he would rather go for a younger target man such as Kane, who has already had experience at this level! Heskey is a legend at this football club, let's keep it that way!

England last night was a great example. Rooney looked completely knackered and the ball kept bouncing off him. I'm not bothered about this player being Heskey really... He's had his best days in a City shirt ... But we need this type of player IMO.
JCWfox Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Bullshitter barry was correct then. As I said weeks ago but got shot down Heskey was never offered a contract at lcfc. Fourth official/Bert etc are not always right as the majority think.
MrSpaM Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 We must have another target man in mind though surely? we havnt got anybody capeable of holding the ball up front any more
jock2612 Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 I just hope NP has some new players up his sleeve cus so far its looking BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
marko Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 I just hope NP has some new players up his sleeve cus so far its looking BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For goodness sake, the windows not even open yet. Give Nigel a chance!!!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 He'll be on high wages and we'll sign three players who combined are on the same wages as Heskey. No great loss IMO.
Dan Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Pearson can't fvcking win I swear. With some people anyway.
Corky Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 I just hope NP has some new players up his sleeve cus so far its looking BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing like a reactionary post when pre-season hasn't even started. You know what, he probably has got them up his sleeve. He probably is looking for new players right now. But no doubt they won't be good enough for you so it will still be BAD!!!!!!!!!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Liked to have had him here but i trust NP. He knows what he is doing.
MPH Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Bullshitter barry was correct then. As I said weeks ago but got shot down Heskey was never offered a contract at lcfc. Fourth official/Bert etc are not always right as the majority think. So someone says on Twitter Hull have offered him a two year deal and suddenly Bert/4th official have got it wrong and we havnt offered him a contract... Unless i have missed something? It's plainly obvious whats happened to me. We only offered him a 1 year deal, he wanted two years, got it from Hull and has secured more money for when he has to retire.
JCWfox Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 I stated around 3 weeks ago I new as a fact Heskey has NOT been offered a contract, along with some other facts. I quickly got slated as people only believe fourth official/bert (even though bert has not given us true transfer facts for a good while now) the post then got deleted. So yes you have missed something.

Babylon Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Sven would never let this happen if he was still here Exactly, he'd have paid villa £4m last January and offered him a 3 year contract on £60,000 a week.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Exactly, he'd have paid villa £4m last January and offered him a 3 year contract on £60,000 a week. Ain't that right!
Mack Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Exactly, he'd have paid villa £4m last January and offered him a 3 year contract on £60,000 a week. Neville did the negotiations, not Sven.
Fox92 Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Pearson can't fvcking win I swear. With some people anyway. I know, so annoying. Same people that just won't give him a chance. Neville did the negotiations, not Sven. But Sven is the manager, and the manager always takes the blame. If the team loose, who gets blamed? I'm not with this whole Neville business, Sven would have put his suggestions forward in my opinion.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 i personally hope Emile goes Hull or anywhere else. Want to remember him for his beginnings hereat our club, not how potentially it could sadly end.

So a potentially poor season would mean you couldn't remember him doing well for us? And as a result we should risk him doing a very good job for a Championship rival? Why any Leicester fan would want Hull to have a Heskey/Fryatt strike partnership I'll never know.

I never said you weren't entitled to your opinion. I just think that if Howard worked as well as he did at a similar age alongside Fryatt then Heskey will no doubt do well. Obviously he isn't going to be as good as he was before, I just think he is better than what we have at the moment, certainly the type of striker we need to compliment Nuge/Waggy/Vardy/(Beckford).

Have you seen a lot of Vardy then and potential new pairings? The answer is no because NPs team/changes haven't kicked a ball in anger yet, plus the transfer window hasn't officially opened yet nor I'm sure have the comings and goings finished!
