how Clattenburg is still a premier league referee I will never know, he's ****ing useless and makes a massive blunder almost every game.

Well Torres shouldn't be off lets put it that way, It surprised me a little. However let's just say it's a message going out too all those players who have reputation of diving and going down too easy going before their name.

What annoyed me is that Ivanovic had been sent off shortly before for a similar challenge to what Evans did on Torres. Young dived for that red card in my opinion as well.

Again what does it matter if he is in the premier league or league two (Or even lower)?

If he's a poor referee he shouldn't just be demoted, he shouldn't be refereeing. What makes a lower league game any less important than a premier league game. Those fans, players, people involved with the club of a lower league club would argue it's just as important as a premier league game.

I know what you're saying an I completely agree with you, lower league teams shouldn't have to deal with incompetent like these either, it's just the fact that he is supposed to be one of the best in the country and he makes high profile errors like this every week that riles me.

Clattenburg is having a mare.

Would be refreshing for him to come and hold his hands up/explain his decisions afterwards but it just won't happen.

Lose/win/draw a manager has to speak to the press. Why does a referee not have the same accountability? Their decisions sway millions of pounds worth of money so you'd think that the FA would be more keen on it.

United should be keeping the ball better against 9 men. Giving it away too often.

I'm thinking the same.

Chelsea are not playing badly with 9 men. But United got a lucky goal and they're happy with that I suppose.

I hate having Premier League rejects reffing our matches but your argument is complete nonsense. Should players who aren't good enough for the Premier League not be allowed to play at a lower level? What makes referees different?

We don't have enough referees. The standard is not good enough, but we're picking from a finite pool.

Well that's not a booking, should have been a FK to United.

Clattenburg will be counting down the seconds till he can go and hide in his changing room.

I'd definitely like to see a post match interview with the referees.

No chance. He'll hide away for a few weeks, maybe take a few games as a fourth official to let the heat die down and that will be that.

Disgusting. These incidents happen so often that it's shocking The FA don't do something about it.

Obvs given to show consistency. Credit to chelsea and their fans for playing and singing to the last in ridiculous conditions.

Yet another game where the ref is the main talking point. After yesterday's shit ref that was the last thing I wanted to watch!

Great game up until the sendings off, especially the 2nd one!

Chelsea did not deserve to lose that game. Then again, it stops them running away with the title at this early stage.

Yeah Chelsea still looked dangerous at times with 9 men. United got lucky with the second sending off and the goal.

Players not being good enough for the premier league is just life, that is why the premier league is the best league in the country and down through the leagues the skill level of players get gradually worse.

When it comes to officiating the rules and rules, that doesn't change, a referee is there to make sure the game abides by the rules, it simply doesn't change, a rule is a rule and the game should be run by the right rules no matter what league or what player abilty you are officiating.

You are correct, we don't have enough referees, the standard isn't good enough and we are picking from a finite pool, but if the FA did something about them, helped them by simply introducing technology or aiding them by other means maybe that will make being a referee more appealing to people - There wouldn't be as much flack, so people would be more interested, the decisions are there in black and white so there would be not as much (if any) slagging off of referee or abusing referees, making it much more appealing.
