Hinckley - 24th Tuesday

Just got back. Long drive back to Bristol.

Quality game.

Those that impressed me were:

Bolger - looked solid

Vardy - instant impact and looks quality.

Nuge - great goal

De Laet - going forward

and that free kick from Hinkley.

However I am not that impressed with:

Logan - Ship him out ASAP

Do you have Langley9 on the back of your shirt?.

If so, you were behind me in the line to get in.

A couple of things I was surprised by was the amount of times Futacs wanted the ball to feet rather than his head (probably because he was slightly isolated with waggy just behind him) and the fact he looked for the balls in the channels and was wanted to run onto the ball, I thought he looked class to be honest, OK it was only against Hinckley but a target man that is willing to run into the channels? not had one of them for a while, if ever!

Tom parkes looked very composed and looks like he has some talent.

Waghorn is still shit and can't shoot.

Gallagher didn't really do a great deal.

Danns bossed it last night.

Vardy, nuge and Marshall linked up well and were the best players.

Oh and robbies dad left him to go and get a beer. Bad parent !

Thought it was decent performance, first half was quite lacklustre but some good football played, second half, tempo was upped, the football played was nice on the eye, seemed to me, that tempo was the plan rather than scoring 10, I know we created a lot a missed a few but, jut thought the tempo was key and keeping the ball, which we will need to do in every game this season!

Impressed with all the new signings and the young lads, buzzing for this season to get going

Come onnnn!!

What I thought of the new signings;

de laet - I was quite impressed with his forward runs, seems to be able to take on players and put some nice crosses in from what I could see (bleedin sun). Obviously we didn't see much of his defending capabilities but from what i saw he looked good, mind you Peltier looked just as good in the second half.

James - Seemed to be able to control the game abit and spread play out, he was abit invisible at times but this could be forgiven for being his first game.

Futacs - His hold up was play really good, and already i prefer him to howard. As another poster said he seemed to prefer to ball to his feet rather than his head. Should of scored but other players missed sitters too. If he gets a run of games I can see him creating quite a nice partnership and he looks the perfect partner to either nugent, vardy or beckford. Unfortunately today his partner (Waghorn) thought he was playing rugby with all those 3 pointers.

Vardy - This guys seems class, he seems to have all the attributes that fans love. last night he seemed to split his time between the wing and center forward role. Either position he was in he seemed to cause real problems and was always looking for the ball. He seems a real coupe, and my bet would be if he starts the season well, he will flourish.

Special mentions go out to Nugent, Marshall who were both outstanding (marshall inparticular).

Schlupp and danns looked pretty decent aswel although shlupp looked a bit lightweight at times.

I am really excited this season to see Marshall's development, he looked quality last night. Good find Nige!

Waghorn's shooting?

Did you park in Barwell then?

The Bill is on the way to LCFC.

Ben Marshall really does have the potential to be a huge player for us. Would you prefer him out wide or playing behind the front two?

marshall is wasted out wide

There were lots of good things about Vardy and even long balls played to him were exciting due to his pace.

But...he will need to get more on target in the Championship.

If he can keep his head in front of goal we have a gem.
