C.J Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 I do not mind new foods being offered though more information about what was being sold and where would have been nice. I went to get a burger, no burgers sold at the kiosk on one side, just pukka pies etc., Tried the other side, Hogg Roast kiosk but no burgers OK i thought, no burgers today so lets see what is tempting, hmmm the chile sausage looked nice at £4.50 and was one of the cheaper items Asked for the item, the two girls serving looked slightly confused and a back ground supervisor had to help them by pointing out the correct item. It was quite tasty but the baguette it was served in was so flaky everytime i took a bite it was like snow falling the guy in front would have had bad dandruff if not for his cap I decided not to buy anything during the half time break but a mate told me the queues were for the cheaper pukka pies kiosk and few went to the Hogg Roast side. This

I had the chilli sausage as well, was nice but the bun was a disaster, im surprised the stewards didn't confiscate it for being dangerous. Not good at all for £4 bloody 50!
dynamark Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I think I am correct Compass catering have now got the food gig at the KP .They have been advertising for staff for a few weeks now on the job site. They are a huge catering outfit do hospitals, schools etc probably won it by highest bid so not going to be cheap
Finnegan Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Paid three quid for about ten horrendously undercooked oven chips. Absolutely scandalous, genuinely gets worse every year.
Wymsey Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Hate food at the ground? Radical idea here, take your own fvcking food.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I haven't purchased any of our grub since the Bristol home game a year last Feb and what I had then tasted like bad breath. The food is not edible and ludicrously priced considering
Aeropars Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 My problem with all this is that if they are going to charge a lot for the new and non-traditional foods is simply has to be of a good quality. I'm all for new things being available but if I pay £6 for a hog roast thats fatty gristly and overcooked then I am not going to be happy. People will happily pay over the odds for food if its quality food... oh and some healthier options wouldn't go a miss either. I know its not a restaurant but if their looking at expanding the selections then surely this has to be a priority.
Bayfox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Been raising this at meetings over the years, the Hog Roast used to be at the back of the Kop at Filbo, but was never used at the new stadium. Not everyone wants to eat burgers, or pies, and I'd prefer more choice, and used it as an example. I'd go further, but then again, I would. Friends of mine who watch the Tigers say they can choose from a variety of foods. If they can, surely we could offer more variety too? On another note, they've had focus groups from the Family Stand over the last year, and said at the last meeting they would be introducing more "child friendly catering" as part of its redevelopment. Used to love the hoggies, but it was £2.50 back in those days, used to get 2 for me fiver, what did they charge on saturday?
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Some of the fat bastards I see at the KP look like they'd happily enjoy eating anything with chips and vinegar. If people didn't buy the crap food then maybe they would review the quality and price. It's always been shit though as long as I can remember and as someone has said if you don't like it don't buy it, eat before you go to the match or take something in with you
dynamark Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Is wellens anything to do with the catering.? I just wish people would cheer up a bit at the ground, fat bellies, long faces, drab clothes.Thats just the players
Burmesefox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I like the idea of different foods at the city. Hog roast, noodle boxes, chicken burgers, etc. I think that we should be proactive in introducing healthier foods and set a precident. The pies and terrible quality burgers and dogs are a disgrace and what is annoying is that they don't have to be. You can offer this sort of food but made out of decent ingredients and a higher meat/lower fat content. We are a sport and need to promote a healthier choice to the crowd, especially the youngsters. There is a need to educate and judging by the fact that half of the fans are fat bastards it can't come soon enough.
Webbo Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 I see that Coca Cola is now an official partner to the club, but Walkers is owned by Pepsico. Does this mean there is no longer any connection between Walkers and the club now?

dynamark Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Back to the food for a bit. However much Id like a beer at halftime the speed of service is not there if I want to see the start of second half.I know its difficult but there must be room for a hurry up,maybe drinks only tills/bottle bars etc. That or put in some drinks shelves and decent screens,But then we dont want people trying to find their seats 10 minutes in.

Pints need to be pre-poured at half time. Quicker service, the club makes more money, everyone's happy!

promised land Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 we need one of these We certainly do as I saw numerous pints being made in a minute and not one coin being taken from the punter for them. She goes all out of sync near the end though as two don't become ready at the same time!
Larry_LCFC Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Thought the food was excellent today. So much better than that shite from before. All the burgers and hot dogs in the ground are good quality gourmet food now and not the plastic burgers and frankfurters. Plus finally the option of chips inside the ground! Also the hog roast was top notch. £4 for a hot pork/stuffing roll isnt too bad in my eyes. Also the currys looked good - seemed come with a naan and rice in a box. Smelt good anyway. I agree we are lacking noodles though. Overall, impressed with the improvments and deffo more keen to try the different foods in the stadium.
