foxesfan1989 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8029924/ I was only yesterday questioning why he is still here...probably best, unfair for a 27 year old to have to play with the academy constantly.
Happy Fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Must be bringing in another LB In because Konchesky looks fatigued.
Fox92 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Don't really know what to say. I'm not a massive fan of Konchesky, and we haven't exactly got loads of cover at the back.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Probably bringing in another left back today then?
MikeyT Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Thought he looked okay in the handful of games he played for us. Wish him luck.
martyn Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 We definitely require another decent left back. For my mind, Konchesky has always been bafflingly overrated by sections of our support. GL to Kennedy, remember the stormer he had at Palace in December.
Libertine Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Maybe Higginbotham is coming in, cover for CB and LB.
Fox92 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 We definitely require another decent left back. For my mind, Konchesky has always been bafflingly overrated by sections of our support. I totally agree.
foxesfan1989 Posted 29 August 2012 Author Posted 29 August 2012 Konchesky is one of our most consistent performers and I can't actually remember a time he was injured. Be surprised if we bothered getting a LB when its a CB we need.
davieG Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 I did wonder why he wasn't playing last night if anyone needed a rest it was Konch and so it proved with a lack lustre performance. A back 4 of De Laet, Morgan, Kennedy with St.L / Whitbread playing 45 each would have been my choice., but obviously not an option with this news.

If everyone at the club knew this was happening, shouldn't Schlupp have started there as he now seems the only option if Konch is injured ? Hindisght not permitting, that still should have been a good enough back four ??
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Liked the look of him as well, why couldn't we just get some kind of fee for him instead of cancelling his contract?

cc_star Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Konchesky needs competition, he was awful at the weekend & he certainly could have done without having to play last night. Bizarre.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Was good enough to be a squad player but obviously wanted to go. Probably end up at Posh now.
sdb Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Hmm. Seemed good back up to me. Hopefully Higginbotham then.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Konchesky needs competition, he was awful at the weekend & he certainly could have done without having to play last night. Bizarre. I've been saying this for ages. It's too easy for Konch, he can be bloody awful knowing he'll be the first name on the team sheet for the next game. I hope we get a decent LB so as to get more out of PK.
indierich06 Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Pearson's no mug, he's only let players leave the club once he's lined up replacements. He's not going to leave us without a back-up LB. I'd expect a loanee or permanent transfer in over the next few days. Hmmm I was hoping we'd go for Zeki Fryers, but it seems he's gone to Standard Liege.
Mark_w Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Feel sorry for the lad really, has always looked pretty decent when he has featured in my opinion, it's a shame he didn't get a chance to play under Nigel when he joined. Still think he would have been more than adequate back-up.
Leicester_Numan Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Now i've got to wonder why Schlupp wasn't played at left back last night as he's currently the only cover we have there with Moore possibly being out and De Laet playing at right back. We have to assume someone is coming in or it looks like a daft decision

He's offloaded a number of defenders and now we don't have a spare for the bench.
leicesterisme Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Sky Sports understands Leicester are lining up a move for Stoke's Ryan Shotton. #SCFC #LCFC
Dan Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 I get the hint he's maybe gonna offer Higginbotham a full-time deal rather than loan.
ian the fox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 one moderate player less to worry about .....6 more to go
kingfox Posted 29 August 2012 Posted 29 August 2012 Feel sorry for him, liked the look of Kennedy last season great left foot. Shotton isn't a left-back though, so I doubt he will replace Kennedy.
