Beckford - will he go or will he stay?

Or maybe I'm choosing to listen to the people who've met Beckford or worked with him, rather than my own blinkered preconceptions.

Not preconceptions - based on his strike rate, and displayed attitude on the pitch - my own opinions, with my own eyes.

When are people going to realise you can't just buy a striker and expect him to bang in goals, it takes time to adapt and learn how to play with the people around you. If you keep chopping and changing who you are playing with and are not given a chance you are not going to score many goals

How long do you give him then? He's had an entire season and done mainly nothing for us. I was always one of the first to stick up for him, always wanted him to do well for us, but truth is, he hasn't and showed no signs of changing this season.

The difference is that they had goals throughout the team. Le Fondre, Hunt, Church, Roberts, McAnuff, Pearce and Leigertwood all scored 5 or more in the league last season.

For us, only Nugent, Beckford, Gallagher, and Danns managed it and we've just shipped one of those players out.

We don't have goals throughout the team unfortunately, which is why we need a goalscorer to replace Beckford asap.

Nugent, Potentially Vardy, King (Missed a lot of last season down to injury), Marshall (Only signed in January), Gallagher, Danns are all capable of getting goals. No reason Futacs/Schlupp/Waghorn can't get more than 5 each either.

Even though it is yet to be confirmed, why do people presume that Pearson is solely responsible for him moving?

Because he's the manager??

And everytime he gets interviewed about a decision he says, "That's for me to decide".

You mean like Nugent, Vardy, Marshall, King, Gallagher, Danns and quite possibly Knockaert? I'll also include Dyer because he's capable of scoring 5 in a season which you've used as a yardstick.

EDIT: they only scored 3 more than us all season so your argument about them having goals throughout the team and us not is pretty much a moot point.

Because he is the manager and ultimately has the responsibility.

He had plenty of time and chances but the reality is he just isn't that good

JERMAINE BECKFORD is a Huddersfield Town player.

The Leicester city striker has joined the Terriers on a season long loan with a view to a permanent move.

The personal terms and medical were finalised late this evening and Huddersfield are happy to have their man.

With Hammill and Beckford both on board and avaliable for tomorrow's game at Ipswich - How many extra of you are now going to make that trip!

Beckford doesnt have an ego problem??

No-one seen his comments on twitter to QPR fans about how small time they are, and that he can play for bigger clubs than QPR.

Okay Jermaine.

9 goals does not justify 40k a week.

Well he's played for Leeds and us, so he's right there. Besides, QPR fans are small time, pathetic numbers but they typical arrogant Londoners who think they're a massive club and they're the centre of the universe. And they were probably giing him stick first, knowing football fans.

I think he's been petulant in the past but people are just using this against him, there's no evidence to suggest that's why he's gone.

What has beckford actually done for us? Nuge and Vardy with Futacs as a change of tactics is a decent strike force.

I can't help but think Nugent and Vardy are your typical 'confidence strikers' if all is well, you're most probably right, a few games without a win and we may struggle for goals......suppose we'll find out for sure in the next week or so!

Because he's the manager??

And everytime he gets interviewed about a decision he says, "That's for me to decide".

Being the manager doesn't necessarily give him the final decision, whatever he says when interviewed. If the club says Beckford has to leave then Nige will have to do as he's told, like any employee.

Haha look at the keyboard warrior. I bet you give s*** to our team during games because you know the players can't do anything about it but in reality you're just a little girl.

Good one.

Far from it, anyone that gives abuse or boos players wearing the shirt is a dick, no matter what performance they give.

Your overreactions on the other hand are laughable.

Danns won't play much and Gallagher will be lucky if he gets on the bench.

I'm pointing out the fact that the 9 goals he scored last season, while not seeming an impressive total, will be difficult to replace. We did not have enough goalscorers in the team last season, so shipping one out is a disappointing decision for a club with ambitions of promotion.

Now I agree that we should expect to have more than four players with five or more by the end of the season. You'd expect a fit and on form Marshall to be knocking on the door of double figures, possibly Knockaert as well, and King and Vardy should also weigh in with a few.

That's the point though. 'Should expect' is not the same as 'will.' Beckford playing week in week out would have scored double figures this season when settled, no doubt in my mind about that. His departure puts unnecessary pressure on team-mates. If you look at Knockaert, he's in a new country and new style of football where even he admitted he was surprised by the pace. He looks to be an excellent player and I'm sure he's a great talent, but he may take time to adjust.

Vardy was playing against Hayes & Yeading and Grimsby Town last season, he will almost certainly take time to adjust to this division. For every performance like the one at Blackburn where he looked outstanding, there will be others where he looks out of his depth for the first couple of months till he finds his feet. King has a tendency to go missing from time to time, in spite of his excellent scoring rate a season or two back, and a few on here are disappointed not to see Gallagher go.

Not going anywhere! Don't be silly! He has played all the games this season so far and played a major part in pre-season why Would Pearson do that if he going to let him go.

Don't rate him that highly but he is a good asset.
