cc_star Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Well in that case I stand corrected. I mean Bert was spot on about the deluge of unhappy city players on their way out tonight BertLcfc Seems my hunch last night that players would be leaving #lcfc was right. 30/08/2012 16:25 How anyone can claim to know what a player earns unless their either the player, their agent or their accountant is beyond me. The only player I could ever claim to know how much they earned played for a team in Manchester and left his wage slips in his house when he moved, unless Bert has rented a room off Beckford I'm doubtful he knows any more about Beckford's contract than you or I. How much do you think an under contract premier league player is on... Then how much do you think his agent could get out of us after we left Yakubu hanging (who was on a lot), overlooked CMS, repeatedly missed out on Maynard and then failed an amazing attempt to get Robbie Keane... It's certainly going to be the around the touted figures, if not over them... Hence the reason NP saying he "doesn't like collecting players"... in other words... we need to sell before we can buy because which manager wouldn't want a wider choice of players if they could make new signings whilst holding on to the 'better' existing players if it was up to them
fleckneymike Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Because at that stage his track record wasn't that bad, I'm not saying it's 100% true clearly, but he's obviously going to be earning a decent amount, it's not like he wasn't ever featuring for Everton, I imagine we had to do something to convince him, and a lot more to convince him than we would have had to do to get Gallagher and Wellens to sign new contracts. Being privy to which players have been seen at the ground because you know someone who empties the bins is not quite the same as knowing the club secretary and/or the player in question.
fleckneymike Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 How much do you think an under contract premier league player is on... I knew how much an under contract squad player (by that I mean someone who got into double figures for league apps) for the then league champions was on and it wasn't even close to the 'and then some' wage of Beckford.
cc_star Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Beckford's agent, saying "It ain't so" 45] @ nickrubery1 “@hiddenteacher: @nickrubery1 Beckford to Huddersfield? Say it ain't so...†It ain't so
Fox 4 Life Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Beckford's agent, saying "It ain't so" Well that's that, whether it was because we pulled out or it was never happening lets just move on and play football, I'm glad this fooking window is shut to be honest.
Mark_w Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Well that's that, whether it was because we pulled out or it was never happening lets just move on and play football, I'm glad this fooking window is shut to be honest. Loan window, we can still get this to a hundred pages damn it.
Leicfox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Ceo udders @NClibbens all those asking about jermaine beckford. Loan deal agreed with lcfc. player & #htafc signed but lcfc pulled out at 10.55! feel for player
topharry123 Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 http://www.huddersfield.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=292189 Dunno if this has been posted already, but looks like it didn't go through because of a disagreement over wages! Looks like it will surely happen when the loan window opens though, assuming this website is reliable!
Leicfox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Ceo udders @NClibbens we agreed a deal. Can't do much if we do whats asked, do paperwork, sign on the line, &other side pulls out
Brown Fox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 http://www.huddersfi...le.asp?a=292189 Dunno if this has been posted already, but looks like it didn't go through because of a disagreement over wages! Looks like it will surely happen when the loan window opens though, assuming this website is reliable! Seeing as they can't even spell his name and it looks like it was written by anybody, I doubt it is reliable.
Leicfox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Seeing as they can't even spell his name and it looks like it was written by anybody, I doubt it is reliable. Huddersfield's CEO has tweeted the clubs agreed, player and udders signed but we pulled out at 22.55 and that he feels for the player He also wrote that he's not sure if the deal will come back. So there could be truth in the article.
Raw Dykes Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Just been reading this thread. I can't believe the reaction of some posters after it was thought that Beckford had gone. "Might as well write the season off." Unbelievable. "DJ Campbell all over again." I wish it was. It was great to get a fee for him, regardless of how well he played for Blackpool. Campbell wasn't going to play like that for us - he'd had more than enough chances to do something other than be offside, but didn't take them, so what would have been the point of keeping hold of him? Keeping an expensive reserve player just to stop another club benefiting from him is no way to do business. Seriously, how do you people form opinions on players? Because it cannot be from watching them play for our club. It simply cannot. I reckon some people must be blinded by big names or rate players highly just because they've played in the PL. Why is that more important than how well they play for the club you follow? Forget the wages, forget the attitude - I doubt any of us really know these things for sure. What we do know is how well he's played for Leicester for a season, and it's been distinctly average at the very best. Losing him would hardly affect the team, if at all. He's had a year to settle in and he's past his peak now. Why do people still think he's suddenly going to improve one day?
Collymore Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I believe in fairy tales. Beckford to come on tomorrow and score the winner and Pearson and Becks to share a big man hug.

ozleicester Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 well, this cant end well. beckford even if he is ever in the side... is going to need some huge motivation to be able to perform at any level. Ca only imagine he is completely pissed off now

Albert Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Personally I'm glad that Becks hasn't gone. All this negativity towards certain players is really draining. At the end of the day they're our players and our team and it's about time we start to get behind Nigel and the lads. With a full fit squad I think it's one of the best we've had in years and hopefully we can start to get results that our performances deserve starting tomorrow.
PAULCFC Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 This has been one big ploy from nige to get him fired up to prove everbody wrong.....Beckford hattrick.....comming on 85th minute replacing Vardy...

This Avoided foxestAlk as much as I could offer last 24 hours ago too much negative energy on here Heading down walkers tomorrow all fired up getting behind whoever puts on that blue shirt.

coatsworthstache Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Obviously we missed our target then. I see Kane went to Narrrrrch last minute. Well maybe not obvious, but yeah, hopefully we pulled out because we couldn't get our target in, and not because we were handling the situation like a bunch of amatuers.
Mack Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 This now becomes a very awkward situation. We have at least two players in the squad that would rather be somewhere else, or at least know the manager has no problem with them being somewhere else. How this plays out will be interesting.
Matt Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Well this could work either way now if he plays today. He could play today and play a blinder - He has something to prove - Mind you, we all know he can play blinders, we all know he can be the best player in the team, but it's on his terms and when he wants it - So even if he did play and played brilliant you'd have to question is it one of his game where he has decided to turn up. Or, he could think whats the point and play shit.

Who is the second player that doesn't want to be here? Other than JB.
Jaspa Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Who is the second player that doesn't want to be here? Other than JB. Noises Gally was leaving yesterday, then people drivelled about it in a thread and came to the conclusion that he doesn't want to be here.
