fleckneymike Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Yeah, but not Sven, deadline day, desperate for a striker, signing from the Premier League, contracts. You've still never explained how you know so much about the finances of Beckford. Bit vague 25-30k a week. My personal favourite on FT was someone claiming Schlupp was on 10k a week. 10 ****ing grand a week.
m00nie Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I'm struggling to see where those myths are in that post? But all of that is true? oh sorry i must have missed the statement from the club saying sven was desperate for a striker so panic brought JB...
Libertine Dream Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Obviously Huddersfield refused to pay the percentage of his wages that we wanted them to, so we pulled the plug. It's not like it's been 'yes or no' for the past 12 hours and decided no with two minutes to spare. Right so Beckford was sent up there with no agreement in place? If you want him gone and have sent hin up there, and they want him surely its not difficult to decide in 12 hours. Either they didnt really want him or we didnt really want him gone.
Mark_w Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 You've still never explained how you know so much about the finances of Beckford. But vague 25-30k a week. I did, I quoted Bert stating 'And the rest' in reply to someone saying he was on £25,000 a week, it comes down to whether you believe him, but I spent ages finding it again and posting it just to appease you FFS. oh sorry i must have missed the statement from the club saying sven was desperate for a striker so panic brought JB... I didn't say panic buy, but he did bid for Jelavic, Beckford and Maynard on the final day, kind of obvious he was desperate for another striker mate.

Libertine Dream Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 oh sorry i must have missed the statement from the club saying sven was desperate for a striker so panic brought JB... Well were we not desperate for a striker? Had we not had bids rejected for millions of other strikers? Did the Beckford deal not get completed at the last minute?
hackneyfox Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Now we've still got him and we know he doesn't want to play for us anymore We don't know that he doesn't want to play for us anymore! He knows that the club don't want him to play for us again. Now that is a ****up.
Jaspa Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I kinda understand what m00nie is saying, none of us really know what is goin on deep down in the club Lets hope this gives Jermaine the message that he is on a thin line here, he is expendable to Nige

Guest Bilo Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 This is where Pearson has to man manage. He can spin into a 'prove me wrong Jermaine,' or even 'I changed my mind because of what I thought you could bring to the table, don't make me regret it.' Let's not forget that more or less the same thing happened with St. Ledger in January and he now looks a integral part of our defence, so this isn't necessarily fatal to Beckford.

I wouldn't want to play if that was the case and Beckford is a player that wants to be loved.
Libertine Dream Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 again its all based on rumours and hearsay.. whos to say we really did bid on loads of strikers?? whos not to say JB had been planned for a while? ?? Well wouldnt it make more sense to sign him when we started planning rather than leave it til last minute. Like NP has managed to do.
Mark_w Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 again its all based on rumours and hearsay.. whos to say we really did bid on loads of strikers?? whos not to say JB had been planned for a while? ?? I believe it was reported by some pretty reliable sources (Maynard was going on for months and Sky Sports I'm sure reported the Jelavic bid). Regardless we were still desperate for a striker, it still took place on deadline day and he was moving from the Premier League. Not really all myths but whatever, you obviously feel the need to disagree with everything I post whether it's factually correct or not so I don't really care anymore to be honest.
fleckneymike Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I did, I quoted Bert stating 'And the rest' in reply to someone saying he was on £25,000 a week, it comes down to whether you believe him, but I spent ages finding it again and posting it just to appease you FFS. Well in that case I stand corrected. I mean Bert was spot on about the deluge of unhappy city players on their way out tonight BertLcfc Seems my hunch last night that players would be leaving #lcfc was right. 30/08/2012 16:25 How anyone can claim to know what a player earns unless their either the player, their agent or their accountant is beyond me. The only player I could ever claim to know how much they earned played for a team in Manchester and left his wage slips in his house when he moved, unless Bert has rented a room off Beckford I'm doubtful he knows any more about Beckford's contract than you or I.

m00nie Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Well wouldnt it make more sense to sign him when we started planning rather than leave it til last minute. Like NP has managed to do. no not always. whos to say there wasnt other factors.. deadline day does not automatically mean desperate, over priced etc.. was spurs desperate in getting dempsey today??
kingfox Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Bet he will either start tomorrow, to show that he is still firmly part of our plans. Or he won't even be in the squad, showing that he could still well move.
cc_star Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 no not always. whos to say there wasnt other factors.. deadline day does not automatically mean desperate, over priced etc.. was spurs desperate in getting dempsey today?? He was plan b... they had a look at berby & probably 2 or 3 players from the continent, it's no surprise they popped up when news broke that Liverpool had failed to match fulham's valuation So desperate... no that's not the right word, but it was hardly planned and what does that say about where the manager sees him fitting etc... just another Levy signing problebly when he couldn't get the Portugese that AVB actually wanted
Mark_w Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 no not always. whos to say there wasnt other factors.. deadline day does not automatically mean desperate, over priced etc.. I never said over priced, I said desperate, which is true in that we made at least three bids for seperate strikers widely reported by very reliable sources (Sky Sports/BBC), but if you want to ignore that to promote your little 'myths' then go ahead.
fleckneymike Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 That's why I said it comes down to whether you trust him or not. Sigh. Why would anyone trust that a complete stranger has access to sensitive financial information on a football player?
Libertine Dream Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 no not always. whos to say there wasnt other factors.. deadline day does not automatically mean desperate, over priced etc.. was spurs desperate in getting dempsey today?? I wouldnt say desperate but they knew they weren't getting Moutinho so turned to Dempsey. Granted some moves come up on deadline day because players become available when they weren't prior but he clearly wasn't first choice as our interest in Maynard and CMS was well documented. Really hope he's in the squad tomorrow and does come on and score. I will bellow his name out until NP hears me
Fox 4 Life Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 So we pulled out of the deal minutes before 11 - if it's because they wanted us to pay some of the wages then fair ****ing play!
Mark_w Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Why would anyone trust that a complete stranger has access to sensitive financial information on a football player? Because at that stage his track record wasn't that bad, I'm not saying it's 100% true clearly, but he's obviously going to be earning a decent amount, it's not like he wasn't ever featuring for Everton, I imagine we had to do something to convince him, and a lot more to convince him than we would have had to do to get Gallagher and Wellens to sign new contracts.
Kitchandro Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Bet he will either start tomorrow, to show that he is still firmly part of our plans. Or he won't even be in the squad, showing that he could still well move. Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't in the squad at all, just because the Huddersfield deal didn't work out doesn't mean both parties don't want to part ways anymore. Anyway I can't see him starting.
Libertine Dream Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Why would anyone trust that a complete stranger has access to sensitive financial information on a football player? We all know Bert became unreliable last year, we signed Maynard about 4 times according to him and FourthOfficial
