Europa League 12/13

It's their "European" angle, pretty sure it used to be like this in the CL as well. It's fúcking annoying though. Can't see shit on the other side of the pitch.

It's sh!te, it's horribly cropped you can't see runs being made or they cut away to a close up, urgh! I googled it, apparently Sky made them move the TV gantry because their 3D cameras can't pick up the advertising hoardings. Shocker!

Inter scored late to draw 2 all with Ruben Kazan, bit of class from there fans displaying a massive banner about The 96.

Well, Basel's a shadow of its former self.

Lost the Champions League vibe when coach Fink left for Hamburg. Heiko Vogel, the former assistant, got promoted and tried his best to maintain a certain standard of play.

Lately, the players have been performing sub-standard, Vogel got axed and now, under new coach and former player Murat Yakin (the guy who once beat Van Der Sar with a free kick from 45+ yards when Grasshopper played Ajax in 1996), they're trying to find a way back into some sort of normality.

The change helped them a lot - they've lost both games with Yakin at the helm so far.

Will still take ages to rebuild and in the worst case, they'll fade and get lost in mid-table mediocrity.

Look out for a young and hungry Grasshopper squad who have surprised everybody in the league so far, could be a dark horse for next year's international competitions.

Someone (no idea who cos this tv's got no sound) has just scored a fúcking great goal against Liverpool. Bergkamp-esque flick round the defender and a great lobbed finish.

Anzhi 1-0 Liverpool. Liverpool were looking half decent, too.

Lacina Traore was the scorer.

I'm always amazed he isnt rated higher than players like rooney.

I suppose he's seen as a finisher whereas Rooney is viewed as a better all-round player.

Probably because Rooney is a key player for arguably while the best side in England whilst Defoe generally doesnt get in a side who don't qualify for the CL regularly.

Both Basel and Young Boys won their respective game last night. Things look far more promising now in the two tables. Basel has gotten back in touch with Videoton and Genk and might still make it past the group stage.

And Young Boys have shown they can be as good as a (mediocre) Serie A side. Beat Udinese away rather convincingly 3-2 (with leads at 1-0 and 3-1).

Anything that helps Switzerland climb past Austria and Norway in the UEFA rankings (which I believe we've done now) as well as getting past Cyprus (in reach and probable).
