Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 April 2018 Posted 29 April 2018 Hope Celtic manage to beat Rangers today, keep the chance of Europe up for the Hibees. Can't wait for the now traditional Morelos missed sitter.
Vacamion Posted 29 April 2018 Posted 29 April 2018 This score could be anything. Feel sorry for the loved ones of Ranjurs fans this weekend.
Brainy Posted 29 April 2018 Posted 29 April 2018 Why are Celtic so keen to win the league against a side they believe are 6 years old and nothing to do with Rangers?

Sellick fans (like the rest of Scottish football) don't really believe that. They like saying it, to wind up the Orcs.

Corky Posted 29 April 2018 Posted 29 April 2018 Given Rangers have to visit both Aberdeen and Hibs, they could well be finishing 4th. Gerrard is one hell of a risky appointment.

Fox92 Posted 29 April 2018 Posted 29 April 2018 Refs seem to let more go in Scotland, it seems more physical.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 1 May 2018 Posted 1 May 2018 Rangers is best job he'll get, be a moron not to take it

Oh I agree, but he seems dead set on being a manager and Rangers will be the biggest job he'll get to start. It'll definitely end in tears, but I can't see Gerrard wanting to go down to the lower leagues
Vacamion Posted 1 May 2018 Posted 1 May 2018 I'm already seeing stuff online about Stevie G being "wan ae theym". Being from a certain religious persuasion was part of the stuff shouted at Caixinha when the Orc mob wanted him out. The minute things start going wrong Gerard will be in a kind of trouble he currently has little idea of. And pundits down in England suggesting that Gerard can "cut his teeth" at Rangers as if it's some kind of starter job are forgetting what happened when John Barnes "cut his teeth" at Celtic. I fear a sorry end to it all.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 May 2018 Posted 1 May 2018 I don't like either Old Firm side but you can see why Gerrard would want it, they've got a pretty crap squad, especially in comparison to Celtic but the pair of them are bloody massive clubs.
Jattdogg Posted 2 May 2018 Posted 2 May 2018 Why would you want stevie g as a manager? Not enough managerial experience to take on the rangers. Id think someone like Pearson and shakey could fit in there better than slip boy.

Sometimes it works being thrown in at the deep end.
RonnieTodger Posted 4 May 2018 Posted 4 May 2018 The different between budgets and calibre of squads is massive and those cretins will hound him out if they're not on a par with Celtic. Don't get me wrong, they've been a shambles since coming back up, but they will not be patient enough to see any progress.
Finnegan Posted 4 May 2018 Posted 4 May 2018 It's actually an ideal job for Gerrard tbh and probably a good bit of recruitment. They need someone that's going to excite potential signings, someone they'll want to play for. He'll definitely attract players there which is step one.

But it is widely known that Rangers are in a large amount of debt (again) and no rescue on the horizon. Gerrard might attract players but Rangers can't afford them. He is not Souness throwing around money that David Murray didn't actually have. Instead, he is going to have to work harder to stretch an amount of spending power which falls far below the Premier. It will be youth prospects, unknown foreigners and lower end of the Championship. Good luck with that.

You'd fancy him to get some tidy Liverpool loanees in that'll probably be too good for the league.
boots60 Posted 4 May 2018 Posted 4 May 2018 It's refreshing to see Gerrard starting at the bottom of the ladder at a time where former players expect to step into management at the top level.
Tuna Posted 4 May 2018 Posted 4 May 2018 Gerrard confirmed as Rangers manager...normally I'd be very cynical about something like this but I have a feeling it may just work.
