BlueSi13 Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Star Wars makes far FAR too much money to be retired. Not surprising news in the least. Be the new films either worthy of oscars or complete dog shit, that gargantuan and rabid fanbase will lap it up and make Disney a LOT of money! For me personally though i think the originals and episode 3 are good films, i personally cannot understand the religion it is to a breathtaking amount of people!
AKCJ Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Never seen the Star Wars films, any good? I was in the same boat and have only seen them within the last year and I have to say that they are genuinely worth the time to watch. Watch them in release order though
ithuriel Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Well, the first three were something special when they first aired way back then since there was nothing like it before but if you like sci-fi then they are worth watching.
Captain... Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I was in the same boat and have only seen them within the last year and I have to say that they are genuinely worth the time to watch. Watch them in release order though I would say watch them in this order: IV V I II III VI This extremely geeky blog post (not by me) explains why: http://www.nomachetejuggling.com/2011/11/11/the-star-wars-saga-suggested-viewing-order/
Amin Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I would say watch them in this order: IV V I II III VI This extremely geeky blog post (not by me) explains why: http://www.nomachete...-viewing-order/ Ha! I once suggested to my Star Wars-obsessed brother that we should try watching them in that order and he threw a proper hissy fit.
foxesfan1989 Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I love Star Wars but I'm not sure a new one is needed...could be a bad idea.
Alexikokopops Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I still haven't seen episode 3. I was too scarred after episodes 1 & 2
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Oh, so we can expect "Mice In Space" then, eh?
LCFCCHRIS Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I actually liked the prequels, I was About 4 when the phantom menace came out, and really liked it Haha! Not sure if many will agree but really don't want them to carry on with Luke , Han solo and leigha. Rather them start something else, could surprise me but they have basically won at the end of the last of the originals...
Babylon Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Shocked nobody has photoshoped Darth Vader with some micky mouse ears yet...
Houdini Logic Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Understand why people are nervous but Disney films are generally in a league of their own. Interesting times
MPH Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 To me it isnt Disney doing the last three films that i a 'minor irritant' its the suggestion that once they have done that they will keep on releasing a film every couple of years. Based on what!? where is the story for them coming from??? THAT is what i find annoying about all this.... of course its become about money... i shouldnt be suprised about that.... but it just feels like selling your soul to the devil...

It was always meant as a trilogy of trilogies, so I'm assuming they will just do the remaining 3 films based loosely on what Lucas had in mind. Of course when they are done they will probably continue to milk it but I would hope they would leave the Jedi vs empire story arc and expand the universe in other ways. After episode 6 yes they won the battle but not necessarily the war, the subsequent films could see them mount an attack to eradicate the remains of the empire, or it could be quest based as they search out the remaining Jedis to try and restore the council. Or it could be set many years after episode 6 and the Jedis are back in control but facing more of a terrorist style threat. Don't know really but you can guarantee one thing the millennium falcon will make an appearance.
Guest Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 too many moaners here. I think it's great. Looking forward to Star Wars 7.
rico Posted 31 October 2012 Author Posted 31 October 2012 Splinter Of The Minds Eye would make a good movie
ithuriel Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Splinter Of The Minds Eye would make a good movie Remember reading that back in the 80s.
Langston Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I still haven't seen episode 3. One of them was on TV the other day, i think I had actually blanked it from my memory about how bad they actually were. Some of the work acting I think I've seen in a "blockbuster". Get rid of the shitty CGI for a start and build things that are actually there. Rather than have 50 people running about in front of blue screens.

Doesn't help that the writing is so bad.

Doesn't help that the writing is so bad. Yet everyone was fantastic in the originals. Have you listened to any of the C3PO lines? Stop being snobs.
AyewJoking Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 I don't care what anyone says - I liked the Phantom Menace Still sticking up for Jimmy Savile?
Babylon Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Yet everyone was fantastic in the originals. Have you listened to any of the C3PO lines? Stop being snobs. They weren't the greatest, but they worked. It felt right... the "other three" just didn't for me. They were so wrong.
Captain... Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 Also the "NOOOOOOO" at 3:44 made me cringe The NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! was awful, not even well done, this is the first time we see Vader as we know and love/hate, and the first thing he does is have a tantrum, sfter hearing that he had killed Padme, he should have looked at Palpatine with those cold dead eyes, and said "Good!" The whole seduction to the dark side was good in concept but poor in execution, like most of the prequels. Then of course there was Padme dying of a broken heart, the end of that film really ruined what was actually a decent attempt (although poorly acted) Yet everyone was fantastic in the originals. Have you listened to any of the C3PO lines? Stop being snobs. It's not being snobbish to say bad acting was bad acting, and it was bad acting, it wasn't helped by awful clunky dialogue that felt the need to over explain everything, even the most clunky dialogue in original Star Wars: " I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters." was much better than most of the dialogue between Anakin and Obi Wan.
