Cardiff City - Confetti Choreography

Recommended Posts

As a few have said across a number of the other atmosphere threads (almost worth a sub-forum now, mods?), there's literally no point in blaming the club, saying 'we should do this' and 'we should do that' if you are not going to make an effort to put it into practice.

So, here's my effort:

- People all round the ground, but particularly those in L1, N, and SK1-4 need to find some time between now and the Cardiff game to tear up papers, old programmes etc to make a couple of sandwich bags worth of confetti. I guess do as much as you can safely take in, but ensure that you are not searched because you look like Santa.

- On the day, distribute the confetti between you and your mates/people who sit or stand nearby. Let them and the people around you know the plan about when to release it (as detailed below).

- Do not release at kick-off.

- As our club reformed and changed it's name from Fosse in 1919 to incorporate Leicester's new found City status, I propose that at 19:19 during the game, the confetti is let go. We then break into a 'There's only one CITY' chant all around the ground.

- There may be a couple of organisational issues - i.e I'm aware that the scoreboard does not always show the game time. To ensure that this doesn't happen, we need a few people to time the game from kick off. With 10 seconds to go, we start the countdown.

So, who's in?

I'll take a couple of bags. Isn't it a regular 15:00 kick off though?

Perhaps not. But what makes you come and post something so utterley and completely negative when a bloke is trying to do something positive?

You're even worse than Wellens

Probably because the same thing was posted only a couple of weeks ago and it never happened. And that one didn't even include the even more complicated 19:19 thing.

So because something didn't happen a couple of weeks ago no one should every try anything positive again? Sure this is a forum so people can say what they like, but the negativity that pervades so many people around the Club truly shocks me at times

Who said that exactly?

Perhaps people should use their brains a bit and think that if something simple like throwing paper didn't work a week ago, it's not going to work a week later with it being even more complicated.

Our crowd in atmosphere terms has been dumbed down to the point they can't sing anything with more that three words. So much so words are now getting lost in favour of grunts... and even then we need a drum to start them.

Simplicity gets the masses on board. Not precision timed events. For this to work you would have to scrap the timing and literally hand out bags of the stuff before the game to people.

1. Cut up some paper and put in bags in your pockets

2. Throw it in the air at 3.19 and 19 seconds on Saturday 22nd December

3. Sing a song

Simplicity and precision. I bet the Borussia Dortmund fans could manage it

The reason for it not happening last time could be due to all sorts of things. I haven't read about that but I know that C-Man is a generally respected poster, knows a lot of people who go to games and is probably the sort of person that could get the momentum going for it to happen. These things need to build up and to do that it's best for this thread to be left for those that want to take part as opposed to those that just want to criticise.

but I'd look silly doing that in the middle of my office.....

:D You might get some time off, they will think you have lost the plot.

Bring back the sporting blue that's what I say. I got that on the way to the ground, read it, ripped it up and chucked it. SIMPLES.

And this is why the atmosphere is shit, as soon as someone tries something loads jump in and say negative things.

Well I'm in, where in the ground are you C-man?

In fairness to Babylon, I understand completely why he feels that throwing paper in the air at a specific time is beyond the capabilities of most football fans, but I think it's worth a try.

I feel we may as well go for 19:19, but if it's thrown as the teams come out then so be it. At least something positive would have happened.

I'm on the aisle towards the back of SK1. Usually the first row of standing...

I also had no idea about the last confetti idea. Hopefully this might get a bit more airtime.
